My two favorite local Root Beers at the moment = Killebrew and 1919 Draft.

Ice cold Killebrew is a perfect match for an outdoor baseball game on a nice summer night and the 1919 Draft (gotta get it by the keg) is a common sight at summer parties round these parts.

Oh, so Han's relegated to the "stan" approved rumor lists...  great.  Won't hold my breath waiting then.   ::)

It's a cool list.  But really, until we start to actually see something from SDCC?  I have to reserve my judgement.

Yeah... everyone is getting all excited about prospective names on a list, but when eveyone sees that they've turned out like Yoda and Dagobah Luke did, they'll go right back to hating everything again. :P ;)

So... where's Han Solo at?  Not seeing the rumored Hoth Han re-do in these new rumor lists. >:(

McFarlane announces Walking Dead brick building sets...

TEMPE, Ariz., July 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Famed artist and award-winning toy designer Todd McFarlane and McFarlane Toys are unveiling a revolutionary evolution in brick building toys based on television's most watched drama, AMC's The Walking Dead. Known as a game-changer for its realistic action figures, including those based on The Walking Dead, McFarlane Toys is adding a new licensed category to the company's portfolio. The new The Walking Dead toys will extend McFarlane's high standards of artistic vision, realistic accuracy and incredible detail into the brick building toy aisle alongside of other leading manufacturers. McFarlane Toys' The Walking Dead building sets and figures will be available this fall only at Toys"R"Us stores nationwide and online at

McFarlane Toys Unveils Revolutionary Brick Building Sets for AMC’s The Walking Dead

The initial McFarlane Toys' The Walking Dead brick building line will feature realistic sculpts, light-up and shaped features, iconic environments, and dozens of your fan-favorite characters and walkers. Both collectors and fans of the cult phenomenon can literally recreate their favorite scenes with this new highly detailed and realistic The Walking Dead product line.

"Twenty years ago I walked into the action figure aisle, saw an artistic void, and asked, can these toys look cooler? The answer was yes, they could, and I've survived twenty years next to the big boys creating those artistic toys," said McFarlane. "Now I'm walking into another aisle with that same question, and the answer is still yes!"

"Will these be the best building sets out there? I'll leave it up to the consumer to decide," said McFarlane. "But, will it look cooler? Yes. Will it be more detailed? Absolutely. Will it be more realistic? I guarantee it!"

The Walking Dead series one product line will feature building sets, expansion packs, and figure blind bags for consumers to build their own The Walking Dead apocalypse:

The Building Sets: MSRP $9.99-64.99 – Daryl Dixon with Chopper, The Governor's Room, and Prison Tower with Gate. Expand your brick building apocalypse with additional figure and accessory packs.

Blind Bag Figures: MSRP $2.99 – Daryl Dixon, Michonne, The Governor, Carl Grimes, Riot Gear Walker, Michonne's Pet Walker, and Herd Walkers.

Exactly.  Great name like Queequeg tossed out in favor of "Pagetti Rook".   ::)

Again - Star Wars Legends powers activate - form of "ignoring crappy LFL re-names!"

Like I said in my post earlier, I'm tired of this bull**** trend of renaming characters for no good reason.  It's really, really stupid.

It was dumb when they tried to turn Ellorrs Madak into 'Ohwun De Maal' and Baniss Keeg into 'Chachi De Maal' (seriously, Chachi - WTF? Why wasn't Ellors named Joanie?) and it's still dumb with Doallyn/Starsher.

I'm officially enacting Star Wars Legends powers to ignore the whole thing and call him "Sgt Doallyn on the Skiff".  Problem solved.

New carded pic - #27 Jabba's Skiff Guard

I have had enough of the LFL EU names bull**** and it looks like Hasbro has too.

Collectors: "Is it Sgt. Doallyn or Brock Starsher?"
Hasbro: "It's 'Skiff Guy'.  Now just shut up and buy it already, collector nerd."

And seriously, Brock?  WTF kind of EU name is that?  Was there an Easton, Hunter, or Ryder on the Skiff too?   ::)

Watching the arms race of the Central is going to be crazy today...  Nashville has added Neal, sounds like Dallas is hot after Spezza, Stasny is either staying in Colorado or heading to Chi/STL.  We're hot after Vanek/Iginla.  Everyone's getting better... except for the Jets (as already alluded to by my esteemed canuckle friend above).

Jeff If they ask me I want you for assistant.  3 year deal!

Sweet!  I will start drawing up PPs right now...  all Geno shooting, all the time!

Pointed out to me today - Penguins wanted a Willie or Peters as head coach, now interviewing a Johnson.  I think someone named Dick might get interviewed next...  better tell Ulf to change his last name to Samuelshlong if he wants the job.

Oh btw you should expect Niskanen in a Wild jersey soon.  :'(

Yes please. :)

Draft coming up this week.  Free agency looming.  Should be a fun couple of weeks before we hit the dark summer months.  Random off-season thoughts...

-  wondering how long it will take before Jesse's Pens get down to interviewing him or me for head coach since they seem to be interviewing just about anyone these days.  Must suck knowing the best guy for the job out there is the guy they just fired.  Also must suck seeing "your guy" opt for Carolina or Vancouver instead... though those jobs probably come with a lot less media attention.

- wondering where the Wild will ultimately end up.  So many things were rumored all year long (Vanek, Vanek, Vanek!) and now... not so much.  Re-signing Moulson was a lock until the playoffs and now people have cooled on wanting him too.  Might be one of those summers where there's a lot of talk, but ultimately they go with the youth movement and hope for improvement from last year.

- Hall of Fame.  Nice to see them finally let Pat Burns in there.  No surprise on Modano, Hasek, and Forsberg.  Bit surprised they made Recchi wait though but I suppose you can't have everyone at once.
