had no idea there was a "premium" 4" figure market out there.

Consider yourself lucky.  With the Hasbro slow-down the past few years, I found my way into the premium 4" market.  It is expensive, but there is some really, really awesome stuff out there if you go looking for it and are willing to pay for it.

If any MN guys are planning to buy some of these, please let me know and maybe we can group order to save on shipping or something.

I'm still trying to decide...  I think I need at least two black skeletons (Owen and Beru? :P) might need an accessory set to go with them... still trying to decide if I want a spartan, a gorgon or one of each.   :-\

When I heard there was a crackdown coming, my first thought was that Hasbro was somehow involved because of them being seen as a competing product line.

If it was Hasbro, why would they want Bandai to stop selling the 1/12 model kits but then still allow Bandai to sell actual 6" Star Wars action figures under their Tamashii Nations S.H.Figuarts line?  Or allow any of the other Japanese companies to keep selling their competing 6" Star Wars figures (Medicom MAFEX, Kaiyodo Revoltech, etc)?

I guess it's possible that they tried to get all that stuff banned and the model kit stuff was the only one they were able to get canned.

And LOL at that Revell press release if it's true.  If it was Revell who was responsible, what else were they going to say about it?  "Hey model builders, we know you're pissed at us for having the Bandai kits shut down, but please buy our model kits anyway?"   :P

Where else are you paying $20 for 4 inch figures?

Acid Rain World toys, Hiya Toys Aliens 4" figures, Marauder Inc's military line (co-op with Bossfight)...  All these small companies cost that much pretty much, actually.  They're not Hasbro, like I said.   :-\

Ori Toy (Acid Rain World) and Hiya Toy (Aliens: Colonial Marines) are probably good comparisons.  Both of those make small production run, super-articulated 3.75" figure lines and both are a bit more expensive ($22-25 for Hiya; $23-28 for Ori) - though the higher part is probably due to being import/overseas.

I love the figures but I'm also in the $20 =  :( category.  I will probably pick up a skeleton and maybe one other for my Cantina.  They are really nice looking and exactly what a lot of collectors want (SA, nice deco, lots of accessories)... but $20.  It's a lot to ask for 3.75" figures.  :-\

Not that long ago, there a was an interesting article about a 4 Horsemen line that they converted to 6" since they felt fans would prefer a $25 6" figure instead of a $20 4" figure.

Remember these?  They have finally opened non-kickstarter pre-orders for the Wave 1 stuff.

Meanwhile, back on topic...

I was getting pretty bummed seeing Walmart after Walmart with pegs and pegs full of Wave 1, but finally lucked out today and pulled a Wave 2 case off one of the pallets that was clogging the main aisle (Walmart  ::)).   I left one Kylo behind for the next guy that comes along, but bought everything else Wave 2 in the case - 3x Kylo, 3x FOStormie, 2x Leia.

Heading to eat dinner soon, but looking forward to cracking them open tonight! :)

You forgot to shoehorn Aquaman and Lois Lane in there, but otherwise I think you've got it.

Select Acid Rain On Sale for 24 Hours!

...Wishing some of the vehicles were on sale...  think I'd probably have gone a little too nutty with the CC tonight.

Not sure when they added them, but three vehicles are now included in the sale.  Good luck grabbing them!

I don't think Disney has radically changed Hasbro's plans - they were started down this road already with lower articulation and more focus on different sized figures.  This isn't Disney greed - it's Hasbro's long range planning.

I would agree... Hasbro started testing the 5POA stuff during the TPM 3D launch in 2012.  The "Movie Heroes" 5POA packs (Bespin 3-pack; Naboo 3-pack) were designed/developed in 2011 well before they knew anything about Disney buying LFL.

Looking at the Ezra pic again, it's nice that they tried to update him somewhat for this release.  New legs (with pouches)... would have been nice to get knees in there, but at least it's something new.

Sure hope deco doesn't suck though as that prototype fig in the loose shot is kinda pale/washed out.  Hope it's just flash effect.

That set actually looks pretty cool.  I wonder if Quiggold has anything to do with the Guavians, considering the similar uniforms?

Read the story and find out!

(full disclosure - I haven't read it as I'm avoiding spoilers :P)

Looking forward to that Han Solo. :)  LOL that Chewbacca 2 was the code for Han.

I thought it was pretty -meh- but not embarrassingly bad.

I thought it was kinda boring.  Not sure if I've just seen too much from this movie or if it' just not interesting anymore after so many other Bat-movies.

And yeah, Alex Luthor there is pretty bad - my wife asked if he was supposed to be the Joker when we watched the trailer last night...
