Just a heads up that (right now at least) the new TRU 20% off coupon seems to be working on the Takodana Encounter pre-order:

Drops the price from $24.99 to $19.99 and you still qualify for the free shipping deal (free ship on $19+ orders)! :)

I'm just going to copy Jeff's list with Tampa over the Red Wings though.

Very brave of you to make that pick with Tampa up 3-1 in the series, Steve.   :P

My Detroit pick was totally selfish - I wanted to see Detroit advance only because I didn't want to admit that this might be the last Datsyuk-hockey we get. :(

I foresee a lot of purple armbands and possibly a state holiday in Minnesota. Dude was legitimately loved, and with good reason.

At least two local radio stations are playing nothing but Prince this AM (one went "all-Prince" at about 11am yesterday).

And then, First Avenue threw an impromptu, all-night Prince Dance Party last night (that will continue all weekend) to celebrate Prince's life - it drew thousands of people, who partied in the streets of downtown Minneapolis all night.

It's crazy - tons of buildings, bridges and roadways were lit up purple last night and will continue to do so through the weekend.

Still can't believe he's gone.  I like this tweet I saw yesterday -
"Let's say the best singer, the best songwriter, the best producer, and the best guitarist all died on the same day. Those 4 ppl were Prince."

Sums it up pretty well.  :'(

Look at characters like Fett who pop up in almost every wave even though he's not relevant in any of the current media content.  He hasn't been relevant on screen for a while, but right now I can buy armor up Fett, those goofy combiner figures, and even an infinity figure.  Plus there are some rumors that we might see a young Han cameo in the Rogue One film...   :-X

Umm...  that's true, but none of those are brand new, SA 3.75" figures, are they? :P

My point wasn't that we'd never see another Han toy again.  The point was, with a limited number of slots in the Walmart Black Series 3.75" line each year, it would not surprise me if this is the last new 3.75" SA Han we get until the Han movie hits.

- C-3PO red arm and if you want to stretch you could do an R2 since he hasn't been released in years

They put those in a 2-pack already, which was a good way to get the pair out there I thought.

The really annoying part is Hasbro's unwillingness to communicate their plans to know what to expect.  Maybe there are more waves coming, or maybe there is nothing.

With their shiny new "Hasbro Pulse" thing just sitting there, going to waste.  Three "reveals" (of stuff we saw somewhere else first) in 10+ months.

Seems like it would be a good time to get another couple waves of TFA figures out there (Luke, Leia, Snoke, etc.), since it is only one of the biggest movies of all time.

Honest question - what more do collectors really want from the 5POA TFA line?

I think I'd be happy with one more TFA wave of 6:
- General Leia and Adm. Statura (to finish off D'qar)
- Bala-Tik and Razoo Qin-Fee (to finish off the freighter scene)
- Lor San Tekka (to finish off Jakku)
- and... for the last slot... um.  no idea.  Give me the lady x-wing pilot or a resistance droid I guess to round out the wave.

And if that's the last wave we got before they moved on to Rogue One, I guess I'd be OK with that.

Luke and Snoke?  Meh.
- Luke didn't really do anything in TFA and he'll probably wear the same stuff in Ep8 - I can wait until then if that's how they want to play it.
- Snoke... how would you even do that?  Over-sized holo-figure or something?  Pass.  Again, I'm fine waiting for Ep8 (or 9) for him to get a figure.

You'd probably swap Phasma with an Stormtrooper with Phasma being a chase.

You must have been posting while I was editing my post. ;)

pretty cool to open up some Kubricks again!

Your post just reminds me how bummed I am that we didn't get a TFA series.  Would have been so perfect: Basic 6 = Finn, Rey, Poe, BB-8, FO Stormie, Kylo; Chases = Han (Rey box) and 'Ben' (Kylo Box); Super-Rare Chase = Phasma (FO Stormie box)

*sigh*  :(

Missed it a few days ago, but I guess this has a name now - Spider-Man: Homecoming (WARNING - potential "Spider-Man in Civil War" spoilers at the end of the story):

And it sounds like they are looking at Michael Keaton to play the bad guy...

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Doctor Strange
« on: April 15, 2016, 01:20 PM »
The movie is supposedly sticking to the comic origin, where Strange travels to Asia to learn mystical powers from the Ancient One.  Rather than have an Asian play the guy from Asia (!), we're getting a rich white guy travelling to Asia where a powerful white woman will teach him the secret mysteries of an Asian culture.  I have to think it's a lot more offensive to write an Asian out of an Asian role, but whatever.

Angry Asian Man doesn't seem too thrilled by it...
