The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: NYCC 2014

So do we know if the phase II Shock Trooper commander that was shown at NYCC is Commander Thire or Commander Thorn?

The Hasbro press photo was named B1061SW_CW_Clone_Command_Thorn.jpg, so Thorn it is.

It is definitely a dark blue.  Not brown at all. Remember they are striving for "Kenner nostaligia" and not accuracy on these figures. ;)

I downloaded "Droids in Distress" from iTunes and watched it on the plane ride to NYC.  Not a bad episode, but like Jesse said really fast pacing.  Probably would have been a whole TCW episode to find the weapons, another to steal it, and a third to deal with the weapons and return the droids. :P

Fun to see R2 and 3PO... definitely carried the whole "R2 gets to know and 3PO is clueless vibe" of ANH.  Also interesting to think Bail was using R2-D2 to spy on the empire occasionally.  A fun episode, but fast for sure.

Cutest thing I saw during NYCC:

100% guarantee my 3-year old daughter ends up with them as soon as I see them in a Hallmark store. ;)

I wonder if Mossep skirt has a slot at the side to let him seat on a playset.

I guess you didn't look through our image gallery. ;)

I took a shot of his skirt to show there was no cut and to highlight how well they hid the knee joints on Han and Mosep and Boushh.  That little bit of extra plastic on the front hides the knee joint so well on all three figures.

The Jawas look great, I just find their height kind of odd.

They seem a little tall, but they're not that bad.  There are tall compared to C-3PO who was right next to them, but he was a little small which just makes the Jawas look taller I guess.  In person they're really not that bad.

3 3/4" is always the bread and butter for SW I think.  Even if they go with the 5 POA style (which I hope we get more than that), at least it would continue that scale.

I think it is safe to say that zero 3.75" for Star Wars is never going to happen. Whether they go strictly 5POA or try to keep both 5POA and collector lines remains to be seen I guess.

No new Rebels or Clone Wars figures teased for this line?

Nope...  just OT.

They didn't discount future Rebels figures, but I kind of got the feeling that Rebels won't have the same range of characters that TCW did.  That's why the Legends boxes are Rebels and Movies figures combined.

EE's Daily Deal today = 50% off the set of 6 G.I. Joe Specialty Action Figures

I don't remember where these hit originally, but $16 is a great deal for some figure fodder...

Not sure most saw this with all the Hasbro Party stuff going on, but if you're an opener looking for a great deal, Entertainment Earth is offering a BOGO free deal on their "not-mint" stuff.

If you can handle dinged up packaging, check out the Not Mint Sale for some great deals on some Vintage Collection, Clone Wars, and Black Series figures!

Same story as the basic Legends I guess (overshadowed by the Black Series stuff), but these looked great too.

Hoth Han and Luke, Dagobah R2 and Yoda, Stormtrooper Luke and Leia - all great sculpts.  They'd look even better with some more articulation though...  :-X

They were sort of overshadowed last night, but the Legends stuff that Hasbro had on display looked really nice...

I'm not going to buy Skiff Lando and X-Wing Luke because I already have really nice versions of them, but I'll definitely pick up that Bespin Han for my Han collection. ;)

Got a chance to do this "Super Awesome Me" thing at the Hasbro party tonight...  in a few weeks I should have an Iron Man action figure with my face...  which should be hella weird and unique to display.

I'll be sure to take pics when it gets here. :D

So would you say the Jawas are 3.75" scale or 6" scale, Jeff?

They are suposed to be 3.75" scale.  They are a little on the tall side, but they were definitely intended to be a 3.75" product.

As was pointed out on the JD Twitter, they work for the "tall Jawas" at the Lars' homestead scene:

I really, really, really hope the final product turns out as nice as the hard copy on hand tonight... the block, the binders, the articulation.  :-*

This Threepio is just a reissue of VC06, correct?

It's a bit tiny bit of a kitbash, but the base (90%) is the TVC 3PO, yeah.  Definitely the dud of the wave...

You can get a better look at 3PO in our image database now.

You can see the glued on panels there, but without my TVC 3PO to reference, I couldn't tell you what the "new parts" they said he had were...
