Rogue One / Re: SDCC Hera Syndulla's A–Wing
« on: July 8, 2016, 02:03 PM »
The figure looks great and I love the mini little A-Wing.

Looks good... but I think I'll probably pass when I see it.  Can't really justify the $30 for a tiny ship when I already have a bunch of nice 'full-size" A-Wings.  :-\

Has anyone done a comparison yet to see if this Hera is any different than the one previously released?

Different - she has a new helmet/visored head for sure...

If you want to talk about the SDCC reveals, please use the San Diego Comic-Con 2016 thread in the Rogue One forum. (New packaging, new forum! ;)).

Thanks!

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Star Trek

I wasn't that excited to see this movie in the first place - now I'm definitely out.

Sulu is/isn't gay has no bearing on me not wanting to see it... I don't want to see it because I saw the "we swear it's not Khan" one and that movie was so bad (so bad I can't even recall the name and won't even bother looking for it), I pretty much swore off seeing any more of these New Trek movies. :P

I would not be surprised to see it at $70.

I kinda agree.  $50-60 would be the range I would expect, but sadly, if a basic figure is $23 these days, a $70 price @ TRU would not be a huge surprise.

Rogue One / San Diego Comic-Con 2016

Comic Con is right around the corner.  Nerdist has a preview of stuff...

http://nerdist.com/hasbros-new-star-wars-toys-coming-to-sdcc-exclusive/

- Rebels A-Wing (nerf shooting) with Pilot Hera
- Desert Scarf Rey (looks like a new head on the TFA 5POA body) - on the new R1 card though!  Looks like "build a weapon" parts are being phased out in favor of projectile firing accessories  ::)

My list is really similar to Scott's actually.  I think I'd put Cliegg in there (instead of Bespin Guard) and Tzizvvt (instead of Lars family droid).

1.  Kenner Deco Greedo
2.  Kenner Deco Walrusman
3.  Kenner Deco Hammerhead
4.  Sim Aloo
5.  Cliegg Lars
6.  Bannis Keeg
7.  Solomahal
8.  Tzizvvt
9.  Fozec
10. Tonnika Sisters

Huh.  7/10 from ANH Cantina.  I guess that means I really, really, really wanted them to finish anyone/everyone from Mos Eisley (and then some, in the case of the Kenner-style ones).  :P

I always wanted a kind of "Mad Max" Rebel Speeder that was basically an armor plated civilian vehicle...  kinda like you'd see on the news these days anymore in the middle east

I have mine parked on my Tatoooine table / streets of Mos Eisley dio as filler - fits in great there. ;)

TRU has not announced their 2016 SDCC exclusives yet, so it may be a little bit longer before we know where this is ending up.

And by "a little bit longer" I guess I meant today.  Confirmed as a TRU SDCC exclusive that will be availble online (toysrus.com) and at the Entertainment Earth Booth(#2343) at SDCC.

I swear that Sand Speeder had to be in the film in some capacity to get a MM and a full size vehicle haha.
There's a scene at the trading post on Jakku where that speeder passes across the screen way in the back of the shot and then I'm pretty sure we never see it again.
See I thought that too...  I wonder if it ever played any other part?

I don't remember it from the movie, but I remember seeing something like it in the facebook 360 video.

ILM/LFL must have done up some initial CGI for it and then didn't use it for much...  poor Hasbro screwed again. :P

Other Collectibles / Re: Medicom 6" MAFEX Star Wars figures

Bandai's all masked guys so far with the kits

You mean Bandai's model group is all masked guys so far.  Bandai's action figure group, Tamashii Nations, is responsible for the S.H.Figuarts stuff.  So Bandai's got plenty of killer human heads out there too.  ;)

there's too many iconic OT characters they still need to trawl out and I don't think we can take anything for granted anymore with the scattershot, glacial pace of releases they seem to prefer.

You mean like how we're nearly three and a half years into the 6" line and they are finally getting around to ANH Ben Kenobi?  Or how they still haven't made a single Lando or C-3PO figure yet?  Glacial indeed.

I guess you need to hope that more OT characters make the "top 6" choices for round 2 (or Top 7, if they have to put a female in there to appease the masses like they did with Sabine last year :-X).  From last year's poll, four of the seven Round 2 finalists ended up with figures (Revan, Sabine, Ben, Snowtrooper).

I don't get some of the hysteria I've read this morning elsewhere about this. I mean, who thought it was anything other than a poll?

Maybe some of those sites shouldn't have been running around for the past two weeks saying, "OMG you guys - big Hasbro announcement coming!!" every few days.   :-X

Eh, either way, there was always going to be a segmet of fandom that reacted poorly to the new poll news I suppose.

103
All signs still point to this:

What if this set isn't the Hasbro SDCC exclusive, but possibly the TRU SDCC exclusive (like the awesome 6" Han vs Greedo pack they did once upon a time or the mega-3.75" box sets they've done the past few years)?

TRU has not announced their 2016 SDCC exclusives yet, so it may be a little bit longer before we know where this is ending up.

Please use this thread for discussion on the 2016 Black Series 6" fan choice poll and/or the voting so we can keep the other thread nice and tidy (to make it easier to count votes) - thanks!

105
For the last few years we have run an informal poll with your 10 most wanted characters from the current Star Wars Films. Here's how it works: You submit your Wish List for your top ten Black Series 6" figures by posting them here, be it new figures, resculpts or even re-releases and we'll tally the votes.   Have fun and thanks for sending in your lists (remember to limit it to ten)!

PLEASE NOTE: All STAR WARS characters are eligible for the poll, EXCEPT characters from ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY.  If you have any questions about whether a character would or would not be eligible, please let us know and we'll do our best to get you an answer.

Also note: Any characters from the STAR WARS REBELS or STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS animated series would be sculpted in the realistic style of the STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES line.

Final note: Votes only accepted from forum users registered before June 30, 2016 (sorry, ballot stuffers!)

Lists are due to Hasbro on Monday, July 11th (1pm ET), so get cracking as the voting will close that morning to give us time to compile the JediDefender Top Six, which will help determine the finalist for Round 2 voting at StarWars.com (date TBD).

edit:  please post only your top ten lists here - to discuss the poll, your votes, or other people's votes please use this thread. Thanks! :)
