Kaepernick is the real deal... within the next 5 years there are going to be a ton of QBs just like him and Cam Newton, so you might as well get used to him.

I'm rooting for the Niners but I have a feeling the Ravens win. They're the hot team, and a little motivated to send Ray Lewis out on top.

Yeah, awesome episode! Loved the Black Sun/Xizor people cameo. Also loved seeing Jabba's goons in action, even if they were just there to get their butts whipped.

Got mine yesterday too. The packaging is pretty cool, despite it being ridiculously excessive. Kinda like the Indiana Jones Lost Figures set, I would have preferred they scaled it back and lowered the price a bit. Oh well. Like someone else said earlier, I like how they threw in the extra cardback since I've been saving those. I haven't opened it yet but the figure itself looks great.

I might pick up a second if they go on clearance at any point.

I already received notice that mine will be shipped within the next business day

Same here, got the email this afternoon

Ugh, just went through with the discount code. Shipping prices are even more outrageous than the figure price. $33 when it was all over, for one figure. ::) I feel dirty.

I got the Blu-Ray for Christmas again this year and finally finished it last week. Not bad, much better than Season 3, but you can tell the writers/producers don't care as much anymore as they did back in Seasons 1 and 2.

Maul storyline was super lame, as expected, but I liked the Asajj "loner" aspect. The Obi-Wan Assassination storyline had some good parts too but could have been better. Liked the Pong Krell arc. And honestly that's pretty much all I remember. Gonna rewatch the entire series from scratch soon though.

In X-Wing the Alliance steals a shuttle and delivers an explosive to a Destroyer hidden amongst the stolen shuttle's original cargo.  It's one of the first, or an early anyway, destruction of a Destroyer I guess.

Anyway, basically, it was a billion times more plausible than this whole arc, and it was a 30 second cut scene in a game from the 1990's.

Another scenario had them taking a Corvette, setting it to autopilot a course at an Imperial Drydock that would have it basically ram through the command towers of destroyer after destroyer that were docked for repairs, and ruin operations for a sector.  A similarly awesome sabotage scenario.

Rogue Squadron 3 had a similar mission where the Alliance hijacked an Imperial cruiser and some TIE Fighters, and you had to protect the cruiser from the real enemies since it was preprogrammed to fly into a space station/force field thing so they can destroy a Super Star Destroyer.

But yeah, still made more sense that that explosion. In fact I thought they were going to have some of the windows get cracked, possibly breaking, with some Republic leaders being sucked out to space or something.

I think it would have been better to do some sort of "wide" shot showing that the ship was still pretty far away from the station, thus why the station had minimal damage... oh well.

I still haven't ordered one, but I might break soon. Of course now I'm thinking about ordering two.  :-[

I didn't mind this episode really... it had some action at least. Gascon is pretty awful for a Star Wars character though, and I wonder if this arc would have been better without him.

Bought two Gammies from a local collector this morning

Picked this up this past week, read it the other night and it wasn't half bad! Takes place roughly a few weeks after the Battle of Yavin, so it's cool to see some OT goodness. Decent story setup as well.

LEGO / Re: Lego 2012

I know a lot of the 2012 stuff will slowly get phased out now, but I was curious, will the Jabba's Palace set be around for a bit yet?  I know places like TRU (which I know is higher priced) and Amazon sometimes have the sets available a bit longer than Target/WM, so I was wondering if that set might be available for awhile yet.  I've just been getting more into LEGO over the past year, and I'm still learning the availability patterns a bit.  Thanks for any advice.

I would assume Jabba's Palace will hang around until at least summer, probably until the end of the year.

Yeah the last ten minutes of that episode were okay, but the story still sucked. Felt like they had a decent idea but spent so much time on the stupid Void episode that they realized they had one episode to do the Commando plot and had to cram it into ten minutes. Would have been fine as its own arc, even if the story is rehashed from the deserter episode.

Some of that stuff was ridiculous though. Why was the Sullustian cook so evil? He should have had a pencil thin mustache to twirl with his finger. "YOU WERE BORN TO WASH DISHES, MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Why did Colonel Frogger spend half the episode telling the Commando he was being used, only to himself use the Commando to escape the planet?

I missed the Walrusman initially (thought he was the one spitting the tobacco but apparently not?) and wound up finding a pic on the Rebelscum forums. Surprise surprise, they all LOVED the Void arc. ::)

2013 Droid Factory = Cancelled / Re: 2013 Droid Factory = Dead

Yeah, price increase was all that I got from that release. So basically no more vintage, no more B-A-D, and higher prices.

Just more of the same old, same old, and like the rest of you guys, probably a good time to bow out. There are only a handful of figures left that I want anyway, and I'd happily buy them, but I just can't take anymore "5 Sandtroopers a year" nonsense or resculpts of figures from 2008 that we didn't need because the version from 2008 was good enough as is.

And another thing that bugs me is that Hasbro is constantly touting price increases, yet other stores/lines are proving that their excuses are just that, excuses to charge more. We've seen 5 Below selling through cases of crap figures just because they're cheap. And why not buy them at such a low price? We have a local grocery chain here in Texas called HEB that has small toy sections, and they're constantly stocking Hasbro merch often, and at roughly $7 a figure too. That's the way I've scored several TVC figures, and TCW figures as well, and I've also seen some HTF Marvel stuff there as well. Kind of disproves Hasbro's excuses about them needing to charge more to cover shipping costs to WM and Target and TRU despite these places rarely restocking figures in 2012.

And look at the Hobbit toyline. Granted I've only seen it at TRU, and those figures are CHEAP (by TRU's standards) and for the price of a Star Wars figure you get a highly detailed, articulated figure with a decent amount of accessories, and 2-packs for just $5 more! And like Jesse said, that's another thing Hasbro is doing, dropping weathering and small paint apps along with accessories like individually sculpted vests, jackets, etc. All stuff Hasbro says would "up the price" even more, yet these lines are doing it with no hassle.

And even while LEGO is a bit more expensive than it was a few years ago, you still get awesome stuff with the sets that make the smaller, overpriced sets feel worth it, mainly in the form of minifigs. I don't think the Palpatine's office set is worth $90 but you get Palps, Sith Anakin and the Jedi that try to arrest him, all unique figures with unique details.

I understand they probably have to pay Lucasfilm and now Disney a pretty penny for rights, and more for likenesses to the actors, but there has to be some sort of breaking point. I always used to say "Oh I won't buy figures over $6" then "Oh I won't buy figures over $7" and so on but seriously... I'm out at MSRP over $10 other than a few things I really, REALLY want.

Other Toy Lines / Re: 2013: What Are You Collecting?
« on: January 7, 2013, 06:42 AM »
Star Wars - Is there anything TO collect yet? Looks like I'll be picking up the mini rig Yoda fighter, and maybe the Endor AT-AT, though I'd almost rather track down the one from 2010. Still have some holes in my TVC line I'll probably fill, mainly the Imperial Navy Commander, Dack, AT-AT Commander, Snowspeeder and Cloud Car.

Marvel - Still picking and choosing. I mainly stick to anything Spider-Man and some X-Men, with other various characters along the way. Will probably skip most of the Iron Man 3 line... most movie lines I only snag one or two figures anyway, and those are generally comic versions, so meh

LEGO - hoo boy... I'll pick up anything Star Wars OT, maybe anything if it's cheap (ie Planet sets, troop building sets, etc). Marvel and DC I pick and choose mostly for the minifigures. :-[ And of course I love the blindbag minifigures. Might pick up small, cheap sets here and there

I'm scared I would get sucked into a LOTR line, if Bridge Direct does as well on it as they did the Hobbit line, which I have resisted so far...
