Other Toy Lines / Re: The Simpsons
« on: February 28, 2014, 01:04 AM »
Yeah, I saw these a few weeks ago but didn't buy any since I don't have any of those Simpsons toys from the early 00s so they'd be out of place. I wish Hamill was in his Luke attire like he was in the episode he was in, but eh. Probably some Hasbro/copyright stuff they'd have had to deal with then.

The Sequel Trilogy / Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Welp, looks like I'm already viewing this movie in a negative light. I've only seen one episode of Girls and it was quite possibly the most painful 30 minutes of my life. The dirt worst of shows.

Hopefully by "villain" they mean this guy is playing Stormtrooper #4 or something.

The only thing that upsets me about the Planet cancellation is that they made the last wave exclusive to Europe, so they'll cost an arm and a leg to complete. Guess that's how Canadians/non-Americans feel about Hasbro though.

Thought it was pretty lame myself. Would have been much cooler if the pointless invaders had all been a dream for Rick. Would have gotten the same point across.

Yeah that was my first of many of those troop sets. Would have picked up more but I did some numner crunching a few weeks back and I'm poised to spend around $1500 on LEGO product this year. :o Figured I should hold off until after I get some of the larger sets I want.

I did score the small Aqua Batman vs Penguin set... good stuff and I might try to make Penguin's duck boat a little bigher.

The new Star Wars sets are hitting... I picked up the Death Star Trooper set at my local LEGO store earlier in the week, and a Wal-Mart had stocked a bunch of stuff this weekend too.

I'm in Lubbock, TX this weekend and they happen to have one of I think two K Marts in the state... ended up stopping by and snagging the Ewok Catapult and one of the Scanning Crew sets. Still need the set with TK-421 which they didn't have but I'll snag it online.

I got the second to last Scanner set but they had at least ten catapults.

Preordering a case as soon as these are available!

Star Wars Rebels / Re: Star Wars Rebels Saga Legends Figures

I would buy an SA version of that guy since he makes a good "generic dude" fodder type guy, but I agree that the (lack of?) paint makes that figure look a little cheap.

Glad I dropped $100 on the "Complete Series Ultimate Collector's Set" Blu-Ray with an entire season that cannot play and no missing episodes. ::)

I thought other than the Michonne dream along with Carl breaking down when he couldn't kill Rick, it was a bit of a stinker. I'm sure we have a few more of these episodes coming up focusing on all of the different groups. They must have blown their budget on the mid-season finale.

I'm guessing at least some of these guys are going to meet back up again at some point?

LEGO / The LEGO Movie
« on: February 8, 2014, 02:03 PM »
Caught The LEGO Movie yesterday. Great, great flick and an early contender for film of the year. There's even cameos by some of our favorite Star Wars characters, and I'm pretty sure they're voiced by the actual people too!

The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: Black Series Rumors
« on: February 6, 2014, 07:58 AM »
I'm kinda concerned about the 3.75 inch figures too... wasting valuable spots on figures with new heads?

It really all started with the Indiana Jones line. I remember spending hours in the toy aisles searching for figures that weren't cross eyed, or had their hairlines painted in the right spots. I'm not sure about their other lines since I don't collect them, but Star Wars was generally fine up until 2011 or so outside of stuff like Cody's antennas not being painted silver. Marvel has always been hit or miss (can't knock them for having some misprinted lines on Spider-Man), but never too bad until the Avengers line.
