The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series Recent Purchases
« on: November 3, 2014, 03:39 AM »
Snagged Jedi Luke at Target this weekend while doing a run for cheap Halloween candy. No Vader but they had Chewie and a Sandtrooper too. Almost bought Chewie but the paint apps on the nose were way off so I passed for now.

Got the B-Wing today, with Double VIP points ending tomorrow at the LEGO Store. The clerk hinted that there might be some online deals for Black Friday.

Still a whole lot of season left (and it has been a crazy season so far) but there's a lot of stuff about the playoff committee to be iffy about. Like how some of the committee members are acting Athletic Directors at schools. Should be lots of controversy over who gets in and who is left out.

The Wookiee Arcade / X-Wing/TIE Fighter Rerelease?

Special downloadable versions of both X-Wing and Tie Fighter will soon be released on Good Old Games. They'll be $10 each.

For that price you're getting not just the special editions of the games (which had slightly higher resolutions and improved sound, as well all of both games' expansions), but more importantly they'll be editions of the games that will run on a modern PC without the need to tinker.

I don't think I've played these games in around 15 years so I'm definitely in.

Another great episode tonight, really a TWD comic fan's wet dream. SO GLAD they're not stretching out the Hunters arc. I really want to see who was hiding behind Daryl in the trees.

Minor nitpick: the group splitting up again.

Man, that was ESB level dark. Spader sounded great!

Marvel's reaction to the leak was awesome too.

Rumor is there's a Beth-centric episode coming in 2 weeks so I'm assuming that's the next time we actually see her.

I was kind of preoccupied during the last 30 minutes (plan to rewatch later), wasn't that Gareth the Terminus leader at the end there with Bob? Or was it fireworks guy?

Other Collectibles / Re: Revoltech Star Wars Figures

So these are roughly 6 inches, give or take? I'm debating getting the Stormtrooper and Vader for kicks (plus I think that the Revoltech Vader looks better than the Hasbro one :-X) but I can't seem to find anything regarding the scale. Either that or I'm blind.

TV-9D9 / Re: Star Wars Rebels - Season One (Spoilers)
« on: October 15, 2014, 06:57 AM »
I gave this a watch the other night... wasn't too bad, but I kind of unfairly find myself comparing it to Clone Wars so far. The pace was much, much faster as has already been mentioned, but I felt like they did a good job balancing the action and the talking. Mainly I guess it doesn't feel like these guys are "rebels" as much as they are "guys trying to make their way in the universe, but they just happen to be stealing from Imperials." I did like how they threw in Organa/3PO/R2, and the Star Tours easter eggs were fun too.

One thing I noticed is that it seems more cartoonish than Clone Wars... the colors seemed brighter, and the scene in the Starspeeder where Chopper and Ezra are flailing around seemed to have a bunch of animation, more so than the typical flips and stuff we saw in Clone Wars.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Captain America (Movie & Sequels)
« on: October 15, 2014, 06:17 AM »
In the comics, the government required people with superpowers to register.  Half the heroes were in favor.  Half were opposed.  And they battled across various books.  This was the arc where Spidey took off his mask.

Heh, this would be the shortest movie ever then. Everybody knows Tony Stark is Iron Man, Captain America has his own Smithsonian exhibit, and didn't Black Widow release all of SHIELD's information online?

There's always Bob. In fact, had they swapped Glenn and Bob at the drainage trough I would have totally believed they were about to off him, and that the group was actually in danger.

I had to go back and check the post-credits scene since I missed it (figured it was some stupid Hardwick gag)... pretty cool and apparently the vines around the sign had grown meaning it happens some time after the episode. Apparently they're going to be doing a lot of flashbacks/forwards this season.

Wish I had known, my TRUs have plenty Reveal sets. In fact, it's the only Rebels merch they have. I snagged one last week.
