Power of the Force 2 / Re: POTF2 Recent Purchases
« on: June 14, 2016, 01:10 PM »
Yeah, they were shelf warmers, but by then there was a glut of Star Wars product building up everywhere.

Air speeder was cool. The pilot was oddly quite tall.

The Cloud Car was a disappointment for me at the time. Maybe because the real deal was better and wouldn't be made in the modern line for a decade. And the silly shooting nose cone (means every time you find a used one, that nose is missing!)

The Rebel Speeder Bike is worth getting, even if it seems more like a riding lawnmower.  :P

Well, it's still PG-13. Wolverine 3 will be R.

Apocalypse isn't doing as well as hoped, at least compared to Days of Future's Past.

But it really looks like TMNT's film franchise might be dead now.

Found Goss Toowers, Sarco Plank and Atsy at Wal-Mart.

Whoo-hoo.  :P

Finally saw it. I didn't care for some of the opening fight scenes' style, either.

I'd forgotten how Zemo got all that info. It's only been hours.  :P

His plan depends on room service being nosy. "If she doesn't look in the bathroom, my plan is doomed!" Or something.

The character was so-so, because the actor didn't do much for me. I don't know why they bothered to call him Zemo, though.

How did Iron Man know who Spidey was? Is he like Lex Luthor in Dawn of Justice. RICH GENIUSES CAN FIGURE OUT ANYTHING...cuz rich...and smart.

Next movie
 Stark: "That's you, isn't it...BROTHER VOODOO."

Ah, the reveal...hard to take after too many super hero movies. I mean, Jack "Sandman" Napier killed Tony's mom and dad? Was Tony's mom's name Martha?

Anyway, it was good.  Nothing terribly wrong with it other than Chris Evans' lack of charisma and Winter Soldier's supporting lack of charisma.  :D

Saw it and it was pretty decent. No great surprises, but entertaining.  The new versions of characters were mostly good. Jubilee gets shorted again. It's hard to reconcile Angel with  X-Men The Last Stand's Angel even in the messed up timeline where people haven't aged much since the Cuban missile crisis. But I guess it's like the comics in that regard!  ;)

We should probably be more concerned about the FOUR WEEKS of re-shoots Disney bosses allegedly just ordered after this movie tested so badly...yikes.

Also surprised to read both Mara sisters were in the running for the lead role.  Kate would have been the bomb I think...

They have to film interaction shots for the new CGI sidekick they are adding to make the film family-friendly.  ;)

Maybe Meebur Gascon will be added?  :o

Do Walkers have to do well on the AT-ACT to get into AT-AT school?

Anyone watch PREACHER?

Not familiar with the comics at all. Seemed a mess o'weird to me, but enough to get me to watch again.

Anyone still watching? Anyone? Bueller?

Once again they destroy a good place.  Well, a decent place under the thumb of a nutty woman. What place will they bring doom to in season 2 part 2? Which son will out weird the other, Nick or Chris?

Can't hardly wait.  :-\

I think this one will under perform and they'll reduce the budget to future installments (this one has big budget, but it's less than Into Darkness), if not consider taking the film franchise in a new direction.

Plane goes down on day 4 or 5 of the show's timeline.

The Abigail's "crew" don't find the plane wreckage until day 19.

When the AC-DC one comes out, gimme a call!  I want an Angus Young figure.  :D

You'll also be getting an Axel Rose figure, whether you want one or not.  :P

Standard Internet reactions: (My responses)
Fire Singer. (Yes, the guy who made the first successful Marvel superhero movie)
Give rights back to Marvel (so Marvel movies can become even more convoluted cross-overs)
Mystique is not an X-Man or the leader of the X-Men.  (Seems like mutant characters switched sides a lot)
It's J-Law's fault for being a bigger star now. (Nerds decided they hate her.)
Costumes aren't comic book-accurate (Somethings don't translate well into live action)
Why have none of the characters aged since last film was in the 70's and this is the 80's. (They want CGI Patrick Stewart back?)
Apocalypse isn't fearsome/large/threatening/whatever-enough. (At least he isn't some normal human guy in a business suit or some cop-out)
Of course can't have an X-Men movie without him. (Whatever)
