Toy Reviews / Re: Anakin Skywalker's Jedi Starfighter
« on: November 13, 2003, 09:35 PM »
I'd definitely agree on your assessment about the Starfighter, didn't look all that hot at first, but once I saw it in the toon, I began to like it.

I would have liked to see a bit more special features in the toy though, lot of the parts that move are done manually, a nice little lever or spring utilizing the vector thruster in the back would have been nice to move the black wings forward or the cannon wings down

Good Grief JJ!!! You want everything don't you...  ;D

-New Anakin...  I hate the CW Anakin sculpt...  I'd take a new one, with soft goods, more articulation, and a more neutral pose.  One that can fit easily in his fighter and will look good outside it too.

Yeah what is up with that, I just got Anakin's starfighter and could barely fit the figure in, I'd hate to see what kids would actually do with it.

To go along with the thread I'd like to see an IG-series Lancer Droid w/ Speeder Bike. That would be nice to see. By the by, the Republic Starfighter in question (the 3 winged fighter) is called the V-19 Torrent from what I have heard.

Sure I'll go with it, since I last responded with an answer....

Which two species have similar pronounciation and spelling in their names.

(Hint: a member of one of the species can be seen in ROTJ: SE)

OK new question-

What are the carbon freeze chambers used for primarily ( not freezing Han ;D)

For the containment of carbonite for processing and/or delivery.

It's been awhile since I've been able to post, but I wanted to bring this up for the forumites. I'm sure everyone has already seen the news Matt posted for FFURG in regards to our December Casting Call: Vintage Power Of The Force, well her's a quick recap:

Following on the heels of last week's vintage Critique of the Week, FFURG is proud to announce the final installment in our Vintage Casting Call series with the Vintage Power Of The Force Casting Call. In 1985 when Kenner introduced the Power of the Force line it was a way to envelope the nature of all three Star Wars films and their characters into one toyline. This Casting Call is quite similar, in that it will envelope the nature of all things Star Wars not from the Original Trilogy, that being the Prequels, the Expanded Universe (novels, comics, games, cartoons, etc...) and Fan-Fiction. So get your vintage customs from Attack of the Clones, The Thrawn Trilogy, the Droids cartoon, or whatever story that isn't the Original Trilogy and get ready to submit them to us at jason@ffurg.com.

The Vintage Power Of The Force Casting Call will debut on December 20th so if you want to beat the X-Mas rush get your vintage customs in today! Also don't forget you can always send us submissions for any of our other Casting Calls, including the Vintage ones based on the Original Trilogy.

I hope to see some submissions from you all...

Happy customizing!

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Deathstar Hall Shelf !!!!
« on: November 13, 2003, 09:05 PM »
no-wan, an awesome job on the display, nicely detailed. will you be expanding on this idea to make more of the death star? and did you think of perhaps including turbolift doors as part of this hallway? awesome stuff all around!

happy customizing!

Valtar, good paint job on the TIE, looks more like the actual prop now. I'd suggest staying away from the missiles if you're looking to keep the TIE more movie-accurate. Did you think of placing damage on the left wing to simulate the damage wrought by the Falcon at the end of ANH?

happy customizing!

TV-9D9 / Clone Wars toons to be 5 minutes long?
« on: November 2, 2003, 02:16 AM »
I just saw a commercial for the Clone Wars premiere on Friday and the commercial said "the 5 minute episodes begin this friday".

So is this a known change, or are they adding in 1 minute for the intro and another minute for the credits. Is the first ep just goin to be 5 minutes?

Anyone know?

Muftak, again I've gotta say some really outstanding work. Your penchant for detail is amazing, especially in the anteroom near the detention cell. A nice nod to the vintage era with the background. How'd you go about making the computer console? And what's the next step for the Death Star? Keep up the great work!
