Watto's Junk Yard / Re: WB Cancels 'Angel'; Save the show!

Might I just say, a big FU! to the WB. They're so in love with making those damn teeny bopper and urban crap shows that get them no attention whatsoever, but damn if a show that is critically acclaimed nationwide sparks a bit of attention, cancel the freakin thing so as to stop the steamroller. Screw the WB, Angel was the only thing that got me to watch that POS network, now approximately 3.5 million people each week will stop watching them and hopefully it will help mean an end to the WB.

There's also this petition: created by the folks at

Sad to see the best show of its ilk on TV ending in the prime of its life. Hopefully another network will save the show.

Congrats! That;s the correct answer, you're turn to ask a question.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Passed on Court Denizens...
« on: February 12, 2004, 06:19 PM »
Well I just picked up these sets yesterday, was amazed to find them. I had to stand there a moment or two to decide if I really wanted to pick them up, but I went ahead with the purchase anyways. I've not opened them yet, won't be doing that for a while,  but I'm looking at the Jabba and it's definitely worth the $10 as it's a nicely detailed set (granted no dais, but I'll live with that for now). Meanwhile, the Denizens is a bit questionable in that yeah you get 3 figs, but something seems awkward. That awkwardness is probably coming from the size of the packaging. There's so much extra space in the bubble that the offerings look small. However, we're getting a formerly $10 exclusive in the Monk, plus a nice Bubo and the small Cabbashite for all of $10 and it comes to be acceptable.

As for group pics of Bubo with other Jabba denizens, I found the following pics....

Yeah I just found Sideswipe this evening, looks like a case had been put out today as there was the lone Sideswipe which I swiped (pun intended :P) and 4 Smokescreens.

The transformation on Sideswipe was a lot quicker for me than on Smokescreen, The only things that concern me are that the steering wheel popped off easily when trying to finish the torso and it could easily get lost. Plus his legs look a little crooked when standing normally. But overall another great TF!!!

Some of the great places include Lou Malnatis (effectionately known as LouMo's or LouMal's), Giordanos, and Father & Son's, as well as tons of smaller places. does Lou Malnatis compare to Giordanos? I got them a couple of times when I went to Chicago, and both Pizza Duo (right down the street from Pizza Uno). I think Giordanos was my favorite of the three, but they were all close.

Now...if this cross country pizza delivery is worth trying, I may just have to do it. Have you ever done the "take and bake"?  How is that? (I'm not assuming you've tried their frozens, but take and bake may compare).

Lou Malnati's deep dish is much better than Giordanos, it's overall the best deep dish on earth. :) That's not to say Giordanos isn't good, they have a pretty good stuffed pizza. I've never done the take and bake or frozens, so I can't say how good they are. But if you got the cash to spare, it's definitely worth a try.

What do you want on your Pizza Pie if you get one?
Where do you order from?

We only have Pizza **** and Dominoes out here and we usually get Hawaiian style (Canadian Bacon and Pineapple) hand tossed crust...mmmmmmm pizza

I feel horribly sad for you that all you have available to you is the garbage that Pizza Hut and Dominos serves up. Living in Chicagoland, there's a cornucopia of pizza options for me to grab at. Some of the great places include Lou Malnatis (effectionately known as LouMo's or LouMal's), Giordanos, and Father & Son's, as well as tons of smaller places. If anyone is ever interested in getting REAL Chicago Deep Dish delievered to their home, LouMo's can ship it to you anywhere in the continental US, check em out at

BTW I'm a big Pepperoni Pizza fan myself, mmmmmmmmm pepperoni pizza.....  :D

Power of the Force 2 / Re: Vintage 4-Pack
« on: January 30, 2004, 09:48 PM »
Yeah they are reportedly a tad bit smaller overall than the original figures. I had heard that Kenner didn't have the original molds available to make the POTF2 4-pack figs, so instead they had to make new molds from actual vintage figures. And as such the 4-pack figs are like a 3rd-generation copy and got a bit shorter in the process. I also think some of the paint apps are a bit brighter on these figs compared to the vintage counterparts as well.

LOL "fall of the emperor" heheh good one.  :D

my biggest frustration in displaying my figures isnt if they fall over, but when they get covered with dust. With my collecting increasing so much it's become a big hassle to clean them off, I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone found a solid and cheap way to minimize dust buildups?

Speaking of a Vette Alternator, had a news post about this eBay auction for a prototype of Tracks. Looks pretty good so far, an accurate portrayal of a modern Corvette and a fairly cool looking bot. I just hope that since this is a prototype they aren't going to stick with that butt ugly yellow color.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: any lawers from NJ here---help
« on: January 23, 2004, 12:24 AM »
In the Chicagoland area, usually if a ticket sends you to court, the cop that ticketed you has to appear or the case is thrown out and you just have to pay the fine on the ticket. Perhaps that is the same case in NJ?

I kinda forgot to post here about the January Casting Call oops. :P

The January Casting Call is all about Luke Skywalker, as the focal point of the OT gets his very own CC. Any and all customs of Luke from all genres are welcomed, deadline for submissions to appear on the debut though is a bit soon, January 23rd.

For February, the Casting Call will be of a Coalition Trooper from a fan-made project called "Virtual Sequels" that will "re"create Episodes 7-9, and is scheduled to debut in May 2004. There is a contest involved with this particular CC, details to be given soon. Details on the "Virtual Sequels" project can be found Here.

For March, the Casting Call will be one that has been often asked for, the Podracers! Any Podracer jockey based off the Episode 1 genre are welcomed, in fact if you have a Podracer vehicle you'd like to share, feel free to send those in as well.

For more details on these Casting Calls, check out the main page at FFURG.

Happy Customizing!

Again the work you're doing on this Death Star is just amazing. The newest level is so vibrant and full of rich details. Just a quick suggestion on the control console in Tarkin's control room. Have you thought about making some of the levers and buttons on the console 3-dimensional? A thin straw cut up here and there could do wonders. Just a thought.

Can't wait to see level 5. Keep up the outstanding job and as always... Happy Customizing!

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The In Your Pants Game
« on: January 21, 2004, 05:23 AM »
Hmmm this could even fit into titles of movies....

Star Wars: A New Hope... In Your Pants!
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back... In Your Pants
Star Trek 3: The Search For Spock... In Your Pants!
Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country.... In Your Pants!
Star Trek 8: First Contact.... In Your Pants!

The possibilities are endless, but I think this particular one will be hard to top, from the new Elisha Cuthbert movie....

The Girl Next Door... In MY Pants!  ;D

Good times... good times....

I'm also having a problem where every time I open a new window, Internet Explorer encounters a 'problem' and needs to close. WTF?

IE is quite the buggy little bugger, on my old PC, running WinME, IE would crash on average 5 times a day. This tends to be because of resource requirements by IE which is heavily integrated into the Win9x/XP infrastructure. Do what I did,  and go Mozilla, an open-source web browser based off the Netscape engine. It makes IE and NS look like an Atari 2600 compared to it's SNES-goodness.  ;D

a) i can't seem to turn my pc off. not that i shut it off all that much, but when i click the shut down icon, it just restarts.

joka, what was the fix you tried? a clean re-install of XP could do the trick if as previously mentioned not all of the files were installed the first time. you may want to look into installing from a different copy of XP as well just in case the copy you have is flawed.
