Saga '02-'04 / Re: How's Star Wars Selling in Your Area?
« on: January 21, 2004, 02:23 AM »
It's selling too well in my area, so well I can rarely find anything new unless I'm lucky enough to stop in a store the morning they put out the new toys. :( One Target all it has are 3 Orn Free Taas, and nothing but bare pegs, another has just CW Toon figs. A local walmart has nothing at all on its 2 SW pegs. I like the idea that the new figs are getting distributed quickly, unlike last year, but the stores are ordering so little product in my area that it's next to impossible to find new stuff now. And thats all because the stores dont wanna get burned again by too much SW stock. Blah this sucks!

Energon Prime: Daddy, why does Hasbro hate me?

MP Prime: I ain't yo daddy ya freak!  :P

Just found some news from about a Q&A that went down with Hasbro, with news about a 6th Alternator and the G1 re-issues:

Q: Is the Corvette ALTERNATOR a remold of the Viper or all new?
A: The ALTERNATORS Chevrolet Corvette "AUTOBOT TRACKS" is an entirely new mold. We will not use the same molds to create two different cars from different car manufacturers.

Q: Are there plans to re-release Sunstreaker in the G1 Commemorative Series?
A: No, there are no plans to release G1 Sunstreaker at this time.

So we're getting a Vette alternator, WOOOOOOO!!!  :D

Ok here's a nice list of hot Sci-Fi babes, I'm adding some Fantasy babes as well if no one minds since the 2 genres are so close to each other. Some are more obvious than others I think...

Star Trek:
Seven of Nine - Jeri Ryan (majorly obvious)
T'Pol - Jolene Blaylock (ditto)
Jadzia Dax - Terry Farrell
Ezri Dax - Nicole deBoer (soooo cute :P)
Kes - Jennifer Lien (way cute when she had long hair)
Deanna Troi - Marina Sirtis

Rommie - Lexa Doig
Trance - Laura Bertram (very cute when she was purple)

Willow Rosenberg - Alyson Hannigan (oh my goddess!!  ;D)
Faith - Eliza Dushku
Fred Berkel - Amy Acker
Cordelia Chase - Charisma Carpenter
Buffy Summers - Sarah Michele Gellar (only the first 3 seasons)

Dana Scully - Gillian Anderson (love them redheads)

Stargate SG-1:
Samantha Carter - Amanda Tapping
Dr. Frazier - Teryl Rothery

Ok that's all I can think of, damn I have a lot of time on my hands at work..... :P

as always an outstanding job on your woodwork displays. the simplicity of the different areas is a nice contrast to the sometimes complexity of the hasbro toys. Keep up the fantastic work!

Happy customizing!

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: A better Wampa
« on: January 14, 2004, 02:59 AM »

As already stated quite a remarkable paint job on the wampa. You've really brought it to life.

I wanted to make mention of the non-painting of the under arms as Famine brought up. I'm thinking that they may not necessarily need the paintjob because the "yellowing" on the rest of the wampa could be just soot or some sort of spillage from previous dinners and maybe the mess just didnt get to the under arms. Hmmm reading that all back it kinda seems unreadable, I hope someone gets my point.

Again great job Marc!
Happy Customizing!

I'm always happy to post any reference stuff you have to share with the community. But please, don't toot my horn, I don't swing that way!  ;D

Other Toy Lines / Transformers Alternators
« on: January 10, 2004, 11:05 PM »
For the Detroit Auto Show Mazda debuted the newest Transformers: Alternator figure based off the 2004 RX-8. He doesn't have a name yet, but speculation is running with the bot actually being Jazz. Once you see the pics and animation you will know why I would prefer this not to be Jazz, perhaps Hot Rod but not Jazz....
