Hasbro gives TVC a rest and brings out a different graphical look and packaging. They introduce TVC 3.0 in a few years when emotions have cooled and it wont face the backlash it will now.

Who knows? Maybe a lasting, high-temp, plant-based, plastic substitute will be developed by then and all of this hysteria will be made moot.

But wow, there is a lot of anger on other forums. Surprising since this look has only come out intermittently since Hasbro brought back figures 27 years ago.

As an opener I am ok with this. The packing box and art, if I was inclined to keep, would be in better shape than card backs that had the bubble removed. And this packaging I know can be recycled, unlike the bubbles, which, from the wording on the website for my recycler, likely gets sorted out and put in the landfill.

The downside is not being able to see the paint application before I buy.

I would love Hasbro to produce something like this Executor diorama. Tatooine is cool, too.

Yup, this was an easy order from amazon and ee. Hopefully this is due to a higher number of units made available for pre-order and not collectors staying away because of fatigue.

Fatigue maybe, pricing more likely.  I ordered half a dozen of each Mandalorian but I’m probably going to walk it back by half… $90 for 6 figures is an awful lot.  Same thing on the retro figures, $15 each for that 4-POA Chewbacca re-release stings a lot too when those were $9.99 when it was Vader.

Multiples of troops is going to be the first place I cut back… maybe if enough of us did they’d start releasing more unique characters.

Fatigue from ever-increasing prices. Still applies,. ;D

But you're right. Last year the Purge Trooper, already $1 more than the others, was "only" $15.99. Both of this batch's Gaming Greats are $16.99. How's that for a joy-draining smack in the face?

I'm wary they'll interpret the lower sales volume as a weakening market and milk the same figures even more to retain profit.

We've supported their price jumps, re-packs, and kit bashes. We've bought expensive Haslab products. I really hope they get the message from their outreach to fans sites that it's time to world build with, as you say, more unique characters.

I'm hoping that it's more than just this new angle to charge more, saying that all of the deco ops require increased pricing.

Hasbro mentioned that Tropical Shirt Lando was possible because of the Real Deco technology. I wonder if the process cuts down on manually applying paint? And can that reduction in labor bring down the overall cost of a deco-heavy figure to the point we don't see the premium pricing?

I also took note that Jing mentioned a yet to be revealed multipack with the cantina band member(s), and that the carded Figrin D’an would be the only carded release.

I'm thinking the troop builder pack. The carded release and its three instruments gets us 3 musicians and the boxed set completes the band.

The new Vizla face sculpt reminds me of Karen Gillan. Thumbs up on the improved head movement and look. Gonna buy a couple, one to display with the helmet and the other with the new noggin.

Years ago someone was selling casts of the original head. For those who missed out, now it's possible to get a substitute of the first release relatively cheap.

Luckily I checked in a few hours before the time these were supposed to go up for sale and I managed to get 1x Bespin Guard (Edian), 1x DS Gunner, and 1x R2. I kept getting the check again later message for the Stormtrooper, which is now sold out.

I just now got Bespin Guard (Spinoza). (That link keeps taking me to the Walmart Collectors Con starts now splash page and earlier the figure was not showing in the Star Wars exclusives section.)

My cc expires in July and I had to use a different payment method for my first order. The second order just now accepted the same cc that expires in July.  ???

That might be a problem.  Walmart has shown that they are unwilling to update payment methods on existing preorders.  If the card expires before they deliver the preorder?  They’re going to cancel the preorders with the expired cards.

Yeah, will have to re-order BG Spinoza and cancel the one placed on my expiring cc. I guess better to deal with the minor hassle now. But that was strange I was forced to use an alternate payment on the first order but not on the second.

======edit======
Ah, I was not forced to use a different method the first time. There was a short blurb warning about the cc expiring that I heeded on the first order and missed in my rush to get the second order placed.

Love the Bespin guards and generally pleased with the offering. These are an aside from the main line, and as long as they are not overproduced to the point of peg warming, I hope select re-releases continue after completion of the 96. Lots of figs I want to rebuy either because I misplaced an accessory (or the whole figure),  want to army build, or use for customs. The only downside is the $14.99 price point. Ouch.

The BIN price had to have been a typo and the seller must have been kicking himself after.
