The Last Jedi / Re: TLJ 3.75" Basic Figure Line
« on: September 3, 2017, 04:22 AM »
As for the sculpt?  I don't know if it's the same as the TFA version, but then that release had the red arm.

Haven't bought it yet, but has anyone noticed the black left palm in the pic at HTS? Reminds me of the gloves used by weight lifters. Display it in your cube with a mini-barbell in 3PO's hand and the WTF!? reactions from co-workers should be enough to warrant the figure's purchase.

I just picked up my TRU Garthim. Seeing this on the shelf gives me hope the singles will make their way back into distribution. I pre-ordered a set from an outfit in L.A. in September and it appears they haven't received any yet but updated a couple of times on new ship dates.

And who knows? Maybe the Winged Kira will also make it out as a single.

I give Funko props for their variety of licenses, but I'll admit to frustration. River wasn't in the Firefly line. We got several scrubs in GOT. I understand they want to pace key characters to drive subsequent waves, but their track record has been one-and-done. And speaking of GOT... production figures paled -- in some cases were disappointing -- compared to pics of their advertised samples. And, yes, I can't believe the Golden Girls were limited to the Con.

Rogue One / Re: Rogue One Imperial AT-ACT Set

While I've seen the $150 sticker and yet to see the $90, the target nearest to my home dropped it to $200 just last week. still has it at $300. I wouldn't be surprised if these make their way back onto Target's shelves for $300 after the inventory process.

I got so giddy at the $150 markdowns that I was tempted to buy the Air Hogs Falcon and a 2nd AT-ACT. I pictured my sisters' kids engrossed with navigating the walker. Then out of nowhere, with Flight of the Valkryies blaring -- or maybe Flight of the Bumble-bee, depending on my mastery of flight -- the drone would crash into the AT-ACT on its suicide mission, sending both ships hurtling, and the little ones scattering. That would be one of the coolest things they'd have seen.  8)

Then sanity settled in. Their reaction would be priceless but that stunt would have cost me a lot of money.  :P

If you haven't been deterred by warnings on the TIE and still looking for one,  $16.99 at Ross.

That's a nifty souvenir. My theater only had the Clark Kent variety.

Love the grittiness of this movie. Vader's brutality. "Good" guys doing bad things for the cause. Seeing how many died to get those plans. Oh, the humanity.

So much to take in. So much action. Lots of funny bits (and the occasional should-have-left-out). My favorite is probably Chirrut Imwe's "Are you kidding me? I'm blind", after getting a sack placed over his head.

I saw this in 3D just so I didn't have to wait 2+ hours for the next available near-midnight 2D showing. First time. A little distracting at first but afterwards didn't really notice.

If you open a Walmart credit card you get 15% off (as a credit on the statement), dropping the price to $170. You also get a $25 eGift card (last day today), I guess for future use.

I bit.

I railed against it as a $300 poc because of the stiff-legged movement, but for $170, I can accept it as a once-in-a-while expensive largish vehicle that just happens to include a bonus crappy walking feature.

I do wish it's re-released with click-stop knee joints and without the smart phone control electronics. For a decent price.

I was expecting booby trap also.

Bill, I'm digging your angle.

Much like the title, the statement probably has dual meaning.

Step aside milquetoast, Rick-Daddy's back...

Was the note found with the stash just referring to the lack of ammo? I was expecting something more ominous from the ' lose' part.

Pretty cool seeing Spencer's demise. Loved his half-hearted attempt to put his guts back in.

Had a chuckle when Negan ranted about Carl sneaking into their compound and gunning down his men in Carl's mission to kill Negan, and then the camera cuts away to Carl somewhat peering over the railing. It reminded me of the guilty behavior little kids do after they've just been found out. Not that I'm saying it was intentional on the director's part.

I figure Negan's created an environment where everyone is in self-preservation mode. Within his group, those high in the pecking order don't want to risk being on the outs if he's removed so they help maintain Negan's order. I imagine Dwight and his kind have engendered a lot of animus and would be pitchforked once the status quo changes. And those who have a lot to gain could be fearful of retribution by loyalists. And some just might be content with the oppression  because outsiders who have to provide protection payment have it worse.

Ditto with "Spencer's a d!ck".

Hahaha. Ain't that the truth. I so wanted to buy something, but after 15min, I gave up.

The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: Walmart Black Series 3.75" Wave 7
« on: November 29, 2016, 06:36 PM »
On my personal list of 1st World issues, this Black Series Walmart exclusivity has just surpassed "shortage of CoffeeMate mocha creamer at the grocery stores". (Emphasis on BS.)

I figured with fewer outlets, there'd be more deliveries per store even if overall numbers were lower. And an online presence would mean I didn't have to make extra trips to Walmart to compensate for not having to visit other  brick-and-mortar. Aside from one bountiful visit, it's been slim pickings.

Dear Santa at the end of the annual Macy's parade that ushers in the yuletide season,  please let my dreams of a black series Christmas come true. Lightly smite the powers that be at Walmart and Hasbro so they see the error of their ways. They make more products. We spend. They move into bigger mansions and drive more exotic cars. And Tunghori profits from his gray market enterprise. Everyone wins.

[And just my luck -- wrong thread.  :( ]

Disney Parks Droid Factory / Re: Disney Star Speeder 1000 playset

Always two, there are. Been waiting for the updated version and came across it accidently when I was looking for the holiday droid on the Disney Parks app. $75 smacks doesn't seem unreasonable with pricing of vehicles now. Glad  I didn't bite on the original on ebay/non-affiliated Disney resellers when it hit $110+.
