« on: July 18, 2005, 10:46 AM »
Remaining Vintage figures to be resculpted are up for debate, but as I recon there are three lists:

Never resculped (8):
Rebel Commander
Imperial Commander
Bespin Security (Black)
Klattu (Jabba's Palace)
Chief Chirpa

Charater variation (another 5)
Rebel Soldier
B-wing pilot
Imperial dignitary

Never released on single card (another 7)
Bespin Security Guard (White with Mustache)
At-At commander
Leia Endor
Klattu (skiff guard)
A-wing pilot
Luke Endor

So far I've heard very little from the RS Staff. When the forum goes down, I would assume everyone works like the Dickens to get things back up an running. How long should it take to figure out what happened to our files?

It seems we get a few more never before re-done sculpts based on vintage figures every year. The last one was the Cloud Car Pilot. Who do you think will get the ugrade they've been longing for?

I think it's a strong possibility we'll get Derlin AKA Rebel Commander in the hoth set and at least one new Ewok in the Endor set.

Too bad Klattu from Jabba's palace is already out of the running. :(

Lot's of possibilities here. Yeah, a new Luke, Leia and Han would rock, but I'd really want to see a new scouttrooper (SA) and an ewok or two.

Is there a prize for correctly guessing the assortment?

Seriously, this is the set that I'm most excited about and ironically it's at least a year a away. :-[

GNT was not effected. :P

So far, the loss count is only three, but other anomolies are have occured. For example, one guys has the date stamp of August 8th on all posts. Others can't post pictures or create post links. Perhaps there are larger issues. :-\

Interesting. Those guys who also got thier existance deleted we're posting the same time as me when the server crashed.

GNT was posting as well. Wouldn't that be funny if he was wiped too. :P

BTW, thanks to KBZ and Tydirium for getting back to me last night regarding this. ;)

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Why there are no more pictures of Bly
« on: July 17, 2005, 03:17 PM »
If Hasbro has one ounce of professionalism to their process, the instant that a figure is painted and approved, someone would create a set of Orthorgraphics clearly labeling which color is to be applied to each portion of the figure from all relevant angles - probably noting RGB values as well as simple paint shade terms.

You know, I just noticed this today, but something tells me that if Hasbro has a photo of Commander Bly in their Comic Con Q n A Presentation then I'm 100% positive that they've already got other photography of the figure to use if they have to go through a re-approval process or something lame like that.

I'm not going to claim I know how exactly the process works for them, but based on my experience, I would think that there are stipulations built into the contract that say figures must be approved via physical inspection of a prototype (since color can never be 100% duplicated via photograph.) I have no doubt that they can whip another one up in precisly the same manner, but the problem is getting Lucasfilms approval. I could be that Lucasfilm is only obligated to approve figures one a month or once every two months, so they may have to wait for the next window to get approval because Lucasfilm is under no obligation to adjust thier scedule due to Hasbro's faults.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Battle Packs (5 figure sets)

Regarding the Target clone 5-pack, I assume that the figures in the packaged sample are not the figures we're getting. It looks like the figures pictures on back are the actual figures right?

I pick up an other couple of clone troopers today.  I'm still in need of a red and green Clone 3-pack, I have two blue for trade. :P

At least AP fessed up as to what happend with the R5 units. I mean, what would we rather have if a new mold was just not possible, no R5's or the POTF2 mold? I hate to say it, but under those conditions, I think they did the right thing. Otherwise we'd have another carded Wedge on our hands.

Thanks Jared for the conformation. Do they have any explaination for doing this? I think it's funny that you say they knew we woudn't be happy which begs me to wonder what happens durring those proposal meetings. Does anyone stand up and say, "you know the collectors are going to piss and moan?"

I think by accident. At least I hope. I just got another message from one of the Admins. He said there's no guaruntees that my account, and those likewise deleted, can be saved, but they are working on it.

Perhaps some of the tech guys around here can give me some insight. How can this happen? Is it possible that accounts are scattered accross various servers and that the server my acoount was on is down or got erased? Why would there not be a back up?

I have certainly rocked the boat a bit over there, but by no means have I warranted even a warning about anything, let alone getting completely removed. I certainly have never flamed another member nor harshly critizied the staff. In fact, I was asked to be a moderator only two months ago, so I can assume that this is an unfortunate technical issue.

But it is a bummer, my existance on RS has been totally erased. :P
