Other Toy Lines / Final Faction!
« on: November 30, 2020, 04:31 PM »
Not sure if anyone here has heard of this line, but several of my FB groups are all abuzz about it.

This is a new line of budget 5 POA figures that is showing up at Dollar Tree stores around the country. They are close to 3.75” but just slightly smaller. It’s a near future alien invasion type backstory. Series 1 has five good guy and three alien bad guys. There are also 3 different weapon packs for each side. Everything is $1 a pop.

You can literally buy everything for less than $15. You’d think at that price they’d be utter crap but they are astonishingly good sculpts. Sort of similar to the Lanard Corps stuff stylistically, but everyone can hold all of the funky weapons, and there are helmets, backpacks etc galore to mix and match among all the different characters.

I bought triples of everything just because I thought they were so awesome, plus they would make some good custom fodder I think. The Brute, Drone and Synthoid aliens are all super cool too.

Someone obviously put a lot of sincere effort into these things, so I figured I would mention them here in case anyone  is interested. They’re just starting to hit, but I have already heard there are plans for a second wave, so hopefully they do well.

No thread for this guy yet, but I put $5 down to pre-order the Imperial Jumptrooper/Rocket Trooper @ GameStop on Friday. First time I've ever pre-ordered a figure there.

I had heard and seen pics of these awhile ago and was intrigued but could never ever find where they were located in any stores. Last night I saw a whole case on the clearance table at Walmart and they were $1 a pop, so I bought the whole case so I could take home the nifty display housing for them. ($11 total)

I haven't opened them yet, but I am hopeful at least a couple of these will be in scale with the 6" figures. At least close enough to make a cool addition to my display shelves.

Have to think these would have sold better if they had put them next to the Hasbro stuff.

Martin hooked me up with a 6" Zuckuss all the way from Canada in exchange for a Comm. Wolffe. He was a great trade partner, good communication, item was well protected for shipping, arrived in great shape. Would definitely deal with again...

Thanks a lot!!

Holy cow! Anyone seen this yet?!?

They have a slew of 1:18 scale articulated action figures planned for a ton of cool independent comic properties. Flaming Carrot! Nexus!

I did a bit of research and these guys have successfully brought some other similar projects to life, so they seem to know what they are doing. The figure prototypes look great, 14 POA, really nice sculpts too.

I backed it for $25 which gets me a single figure of my choice from the ones already unlocked. I've literally been waiting decades for a Dreadstar action figure, so that one is a no brainer for me. Beyond excited if that actually happens.

Goal is 150K, deadline is September 23 I believe. Estimated ship date is not til Jan 2020 but I can wait. I hope we can get some more JD folks behind this!  :)

The Black Series 6" Figures / 6" Black Series The Last Jedi Wave 4
« on: January 23, 2018, 09:51 AM »

The whole wave was in stock this morning apparently, but only DJ is left in stock now and you can't get free shipping for just one crummy figure so goddamnit.  >:(

I am so, so, so over stalking websites at all hours of the day just trying to buy a freaking toy. I'd rather them just stop putting out stuff altogether until they get their act together.

I can't believe I just heard about these today!

McF is doing 7" scale Stranger Things figures tentatively scheduled for November. First two shown are Eleven and Chief Hopper. Demogorgon gotta be coming though...

I knew a few people around here dug that show a lot, hope the toys do well! I am 100% in on this action. :)

Anyone else playing this? I downloaded it on a whim a few weeks back and found it a bit slow to get into at first but now I'm pretty much addicted. Awesome way to waste a ton of your free time!

Desperately seeking X-Wing Pilot Luke if anyone has a spare. Will pay $$$ straight up or happy to trade if there's something you need.  ;D

Please help if you can, thank you!!

If anyone has the dark red arm C-3PO 6" variant, I would love to trade a Walmart exclusive 6" Scarif Stormtrooper for it straight up. PM me if interested!  :)

Looks like a 6" Baze and Chirrut are coming...saw boxed and loose photos out of NYCC tonight. Not too shabby.

Rogue One / Rogue One "FORCE FRIDAY" Official Thread...
« on: September 29, 2016, 01:15 PM »
Hope I'm not overstepping here but I thought it would be good to get a nice central thread going for any amusing anecdotes/tales of terror from tonight, as well as interesting or noteworthy finds, discounts, etc. Also feel free to post your plans for tonight as it's always interesting to hear what other peeps are doing.

I had originally planned to get together with two other friends who are both collectors, but it sounds like we are likely bailing on that plan now due to a combination of family obligations/weather/sickness/etc. Not to mention a sort of general malaise. The only thing I really want that I'm not confident I can find tomorrow is the TRU 6" Hovertank Pilot. But it's not worth waiting 3+ hours in the rain just to find out they sold out in the first 5 minutes or never got them in the first place.

So my new plan is to maybe hit up a closeby Walmart tonight and maybe pick up the Imperial Speeder if I see it on the off-chance that Target doesn't carry this out of the gate. Then wake up early and hit a few Targets on the way in to work to use both of those coupons on the A-Wing, more 6" stuff, Rebels Season 2 DVD, etc.

I am thinking seriously about placing a big order on too, since their current sale prices match the after-coupon price per figure I would be paying at Target. Just irked that they don't have the Hovertank Pilot up on the site yet, the way the Snowtrooper guy was available for preorder for last year's FF.

I do expect more than a few "ripples in the Force" coming up too. Targets around here have showed zero signs of prepping so far, and I find it a little hard to believe they will all magically have their aisles reset by 8am tomorrow when the doors open with all the new stuff on display. Just like I find it hard to believe that at 12:01am every Walmart computer will update instantly to allow the proper ring-up, pricing and sale of the new stuff. I foresee many possible checkout line frustrations...

Oh, and for the record, I am hoping to pick up all of the following: new 6" wave, A-Wing, Rebels Imperial Speeder x2, an extra Sabine, the Titanium Helmet 2-pk with Sabine's dome, and maybe the 12" animatronic Kanan, although that one smells destined for clearance already to me.

The Sequel Trilogy / The Force Awakens - Deleted Scenes
« on: April 6, 2016, 08:54 AM »
Not sure if this merits a separate thread so please feel free to merge. I watched all the deleted scenes last night...surprised there were not more footage in there, I had heard they cut out a lot.

The scene with Finn and the villager would have been good to keep in there since it was so short and does serve to further underscore Finn's abrupt conversion from soldier to sympathizer.

The message from Jakku scene did seem superfluous although it does provide at least a little plausible backstory for how Poe got away.

I liked the X-wings hitting light speed because of Parkman's, er...Snap wexley's one liner "is there any other speed?"  :D

I loved Kylo searching the Falcon, if only for the gratuitous Snowtrooper shots and his demonstration of yet another heretofore unseen power of the Force - psychometry. Interesting how this kid is able to do all these wondrous thing with the Force that no Sith Lord has ever pulled off before, not even Bane or Vader.

Really happy they pulled the snow speeder chase because that whole segment looked like crap I thought. Really bad CGI. Cool to see that this toy actually existed in the film though.

Oh, and still not a single sign of Constable Zuvio anywhere. WTF?!?
