Saga Collection '06 / Re: Wal-Mart Value Two Packs @ $9.98
« on: January 16, 2007, 12:28 AM »
As I posted in the TSC Discounts/Price Hikes thread, this is a fantastic deal considering that ONE figure is $7. I hope I'm able to find some of these, and it looks like they've made some good choices for figures unlike those TRU 2-Packs from 2005.

My stores all have about the same amount of stuff. There's only a few figures on the pegs, with all of them being any figure from the Naboo/Endor wave that isn't Luke or an Endor Soldier. There are also a few random older figures mixed in, mostly Derlins and Poggles. However, there are plenty of vehicles (Jedi Starfighters mostly) and Tin sets to be found.

I just read about these new "Special Value" double packs at Wal-Mart. They're ringing up at $9.98 which is a fantastic deal for two figures, considering that ONE figure costs a little under $3 less than that.

Happy Birthdays to Matt, Ryan, Robb, and Jeff! :D

While I'm not fond of this being exclusive, I'm not going to let the Wal-Mart part bring me down. I've managed to find all of the WM exclusives so far, although for most of them I do believe I was at the right place at the right time.

I must question why this must be an exclusive though. I guess it does follow Hasbro's formula of making the crappy BP's clog shelves everywhere while the good BP's are exclusive and hard to find.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 2007 Star Wars Comic Packs

yesterday i went to target and noticed the gray dot in the space for these, meaning new shipments are on their way.  ;D

I saw this too... the sticker had "2/15" written on it. That means that the store isn't getting any until Feburary 15, right? BS if so, especially considering that everyone else is spotting them.

If it were a Labor Day theme with Stormtroopers whipping a bunch of Ewoks or Wookiees then I'd buy 20.

I lost track around June, but I'd estimate that I spent about the same as I did in 2005 which was around $1500, maybe a little less (around $1200).

Yeah, I did try the forums. The only post I saw that wasn't a member complaining about the problem was a mod saying he'd forward the problem to tech support. That post was made in November, and still nothing.

EDIT: Just a few minutes ago I tried opening the game for ***** and giggles and it actually worked. I think a combination of the LucasArts patch they released and a reboot helped. I'm relieved that it's working now.

EDIT 2: If you get the game and you have the same problem I did, download these:

LucasArts FOC Update 1.1

SecuROM Update (drag and drop this file into C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption)

After downloading these two files, reboot your system and see if that helps matters.

Got mine today, it's pretty neat. I was surprised to find out that the head is ball jointed, I thought it was a regular neck joint.

Well here's a big pile of bull****... I've installed the Forces of Corruption expansion twice now, and every time I try to play, I get an error message saying that the "Original disc could not be found or authenticated." I've tried reasearching this problem online and I've found that tons of people have had the same troubles since the expansion came out, and LucasArts has yet to do anything about it yet. Apparently this is all the fault of the stupid Anti-Piracy software they put on all their games. ::)

LEGO / Re: 2007 Sets! UPDATE: Pics of three new sets!

I'll get all 3. I think it's time I get all my older sets together and dissassemble the ones that have had remakes just to have more room.

Please excuse my stupidity here.  I understand we're dealing with a different ship based on name, duty, film, etc.  What I'm trying to rationalize is whether it's sufficiently different from the original Lego shuttle for me to buy it.  What I mean is when I've built it and put it next to the original Tydirium, will it look exactly the same?

Really, I'm not trying to be rude here, but if I can save $50, I will.  If it's different enough then I'll buy it.  Same sort of deal with the Y-wing.  I was going to chase the early release (Y-wing/Tie Fighter) but see no point now that a new Y-wing has been released.

I get what you're saying, and I completely understand. I think basically it just comes down to how bad you want it. If you want the minifigs, the new shuttle comes with 2 Stormtroopers, 2 Sandtroopers, and a TIE Pilot. And from what I've read online, it's bigger than the original. Overall there's probably not much difference other than size and body shape, so like I said earlier, it all comes down to what you want.
