Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The MCU post Endgame.
« on: March 24, 2021, 05:39 PM »
I spent the last few days watching Wandavision... I'm not the closest follower of the Marvel movies and all the tiny tidbits and easter eggs like I am with Star Wars, but it's still a fun ride. I enjoyed the comedic take on TV through the decades, especially the commercials. Ending fell a bit flat for me for reasons I haven't been able to comprehend, but I'm excited to see where things go from here.

Obviously this was a setup for Doctor Strange II, which we know is going to deal with the Multiverse, and I'm thinking that based on some of the lines and casting choices, Disney is planning on introducing the Fantastic Four and the X-Men into the MCU.

I'll likely check out Falcon and Winter Soldier when all episodes have aired, so I can binge it.

I grabbed the lone figure at Target today, Archive Thrawn. I was surprised they allowed me to buy it.

That wave was released a while ago.  From what I’ve been reading it looks like the next wave of Black Series Archive figures are register locked until April 1st.

Yep, this particular Target is one of the "unfriendly to collectors" Targets, and refused to sell me the Archive wave a few weeks back when I tried to buy them. All of the archive figures are street dated April 1, for whatever reason. Guess it depends on the Target, or a lot of luck.

Just got an email from Hasbro Pulse informing me that this set has been delayed, and the new estimated shipping date is May 20, 2021.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: Black Series Comic Packs
« on: March 19, 2021, 09:03 PM »
Looks like only Maul is sold out on Hasbro Pulse, but the rest are readily available.

Also looks like Hasbro will be correcting the Carnor Jax packaging to say that it's actually Kir Kanos.

Hasbro Press Release Says:
Available for pre-order at Hasbro Pulse, Entertainment Earth, Big Bad Toy Store and Dorkside Toys.

Price = $24.99

Not sure if they will hit Amazon, Target, Walmart, etc.

Okay, sweet, so the usual sites then. Means we should all have a decent shot at getting one of each.

While Disney owns Marvel Comics, maybe there is still some kind of rights or canon issue.

Rights issue would make sense, since it recently came out that Disney isn't paying royalties to writers such as Alan Dean Foster for work that they did prior to Disney's purchase of Lucasfilm. Could be something as simple and petty as that.

I need all of these. Hopefully they don't sell out too quick. Do we know what sites will have these for preorder?

I had the rerelease of Commander Gree on preorder for... who knows how long at this point, from BBTS. The preorder was processed last week, and the Gree figure arrived yesterday.

Now I just need to snag the handful of figures I missed originally, then I can be done with the red/black Black Series line.

The last store exclusive figure I've seen on the shelves was the Trash Compactor Luke almost 2 years ago now. So I'd pay $50 to be able to get exclusives in one swoop. Especially the Walgreens stuff.

I was lucky enough to get a preorder in on Pulse, which was shocking since I was in the legit middle of nowhere on coffee shop WiFi. Right place right time I guess.

My Dorkside preorder of Greef Karga, Moff Gideon, and Kuiil arrived yesterday.

LEGO / Re: The End of the Road?
« on: February 8, 2021, 09:33 PM »
I did exactly this a few months ago. I had debated getting rid of either Hasbro figures or LEGO for a good 2-3 years, and ultimately decided to sell the LEGO since it was taking up so much more space. It didn't help that the last 5 or so years of LEGO releases have been pretty boring; the same rehashed ships and speeders, all built mostly the same way with nothing really new or innovative in the designs.

I started selling off all of my boxed stuff a few months ago, and made a pretty penny; enough to fund an experimental treatment for an illness diagnosed cat I adopted (something called FIP which is basically a cat version of Covid). However, while moving last year, I had to open about half of my collection to save space and fit everything into two storage bins. I left the pieces in their sealed bags, but I'm now having to go through and sort everything out, find instructions and sticker sheets, match it all together... it's a mess!

I've sold everything via Craigslist. I was lucky enough to find a guy who operates an online LEGO store, and he buys stuff in bulk. There's likely something similar in your area; just have to have a bit of patience. Know that people are always looking for bargains, so I had to sell a lot of stuff for far less than it was worth, but still far more than what I paid.

I am keeping a few select sets, like the 1960s Batcave and my UCS Slave I. My dream is to eventually sell everything I want to off, and then get the $800 UCS Millennium Falcon and display that with the Slave I.

Went to Target to get ice and spotted the entire Archive wave. Tried to buy them all but was denied because of the street date. Self checkout manager was really rude about it, trying to imply that I snuck into the back and stole them. Whatever. Literally the first new Star Wars merchandise this Target has had in ages, and they won’t sell it. Guess that cements that I need to buy everything online from now on.
