Other Toy Lines / Re: Transformers
« on: July 18, 2018, 07:41 AM »
I don't have the new Leader Prime from Power of the Primes yet, but there is a new theme dropping soon called War for Cybertron that's going to feature a Voyager-class Prime that looks pretty nice.

It's a bit cheaper than the Leader Prime, so there's that.

And for something that's really up my alley, G1 reissues are supposedly returning to the US exclusively at Wal-Mart. I'd throw up the links, but the Wally website has currently taken them down. The bots available will be Hot Rod, Starscream, Devastator (!), and four minibots: Outback, Swerve, Tailgate, and Bumblebee. Robot Kingdom has them in stock now, and Big Bad Toy Store has Hot Rod in stock:
I would expect them to be much cheaper when (if) they actually hit stores. My guess is they'll be up for sale on Wally's website after Hasbro announces them at SDCC this weekend, but we'll see.

Solo / Re: Solo 3.75" Mission on Vandor-1 4-Pack

Great set! I was hoping for a Qi'Ra in this costume, Weazel is a great choice, and I'll always take another trooper. Han is scene-specific, but if I end up buying a playset, I'm going to want this costume too.

I may have missed it, but is Beckett coming anytime soon?

The Last Jedi / Re: Target TLJ 3.75" Return of the Jedi 3-Pack

Finally picked this set up today. Target just put them on clearance, so I grabbed it for $17.48.

Game Stop is running a 50% off clearance price sale, so I stopped at the local stores. Picked up Snoke w/ throne, General Leia, and Jedi Training Rey for $10 each. Last weekend I found a 40th Ann. Leia for $7 at an out-of-town store. It might be worth a trip to your local store.  :)

Solo / Re: Solo Store Finds and Recent Purchases

Managed to get what I wanted. Found the Lando set and one each of the Range and Mimban Troopers at an out of town Wally that is really on the ball when it comes to toys. I was able to order the Wampa from Amazon, so that should be here tomorrow.

Havenít seen any Vintage or the Black Series Porgs yet, but Iím not in a hurry on those.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Load up the 'barge!

I'm hoping for a reissue of Jabba's Skiff Guard from 2013. Doallyn I think he is. Never found that one, and the ebay prices...  :P

I have the rest of Jabba's denizens, but I'd buy a Tessek resculpt in a heartbeat. I'd also buy new versions of the Rebo Band, but only the original three. Hey, maybe that's something they could do with HasLab...

Congrats to all who backed it! I ultimately decided not to, but I'll wait and see what happens when these start showing up. Somebody's significant other will probably see the box and freak out and make them sell, so I'll get one then. Just couldn't swing buying it now, unfortunately.

Joe Defender / Re: The Future of G.I. Joe?
« on: March 31, 2018, 11:43 AM »

Looks like Hasbro is thinking that the feature film is the way to go forward. No word yet if this is a continuation of the previous two movies, but I kind of doubt it.

As for the toys, the Club isn't having the license renewed, so they're done after this year. Now that the Barge is backed, I kind of hope this HasLab thing takes off and they start offering Joe stuff again, through that site. I always figured it would have to be a DTC model to sell it again, and with TRU gone...

Ok, $535 is less than I figured. Thanks guys! And yeah, I wish there was a payment plan, but Iíll probably just take the money out of savings. Well, some of it. The G.I. Joe Collectors Club offers a payment plan on their subscription figures, but those are made to order, not a crowdfund thing.

Iíll be dropping the 6 inch stuff entirely. And waiting to see on 5 POA. With the exclusive Rey coming to WM, Iíll skip the Island Journey Rey.

I was thinking about getting in on this. For those that have backed it, what was the final price Hasbro quoted you?

Jabbaís Skiff Guard (I think itís Doallyn)

Iíll probably buy just about anything they offer. Iím a sucker for those cards.  :P

Found a lone Rose at a local WM marked down to $4, so I went ahead and picked it up. I wonder if this price will clear the pegs. Probably not.  :-\

Star Wars Universe / Re: Is Star Wars special anymore?
« on: January 12, 2018, 03:11 PM »
Nothing can compare to the enjoyment I have every time I'm in the theater for the first time waiting for the next installment. To me, that's the best part. So I'm sure I'll keep showing up as long as I'm able.

Just prior to Disney buying the property, I had accepted the OT as "my" Star Wars. The PT was fun, if a bit whatever in parts, and I had lost track of the grind that was the Clone Wars show. I could accept that I can love Star Wars but don't have to be into everything that comes down the pike. There were about three generations of Star Wars fans at that point, now I guess it could be four. And a lot of these newer fans probably don't give a **** about the OT like most of us do.

I do think Star Wars needs some cool-down time, though. Hopefully after Solo, they'll go to a more sensible release schedule.

Found the big display at a local WM. Finally found a couple Death Troopers. Now if I could find Cassian and some Shoretroopers...
