Star Wars Action Figures / Re: 501st Commander by Outrider 6/30

Oh no, it's the star playah from It Came from the Bog!!!  :o

Yeah, you don't wanna mess with the forces of nature. A couple of years ago, two trees fell down the farm road of my g/f's parents, because of a storm. That was quite an impressive sight (and sound).

Good luck to both of you guys and hopefully you'll be online soon, Fritzkrieg!

Last night I finished working on my Galactic Marine v3. I attempted to make this one more movie accurate, now that we've seen that Sith snapshot of the 3D model used in ROTS. I used the Snowtrooper's torso for this and dremeled the arm sockets to the max.

I'm quite pleased with how things worked out, because there were times I wanted to throw away that chest and grab a Commander's upper body  :). I only have mixed feelings about his right arm. Ball jointed arms and swivel joint sockets apparently don't match very easily.

Contrary to Marine v2 I didn't remove the rims of the visor. I need to practise more on that and didn't want to risk screwing up the head, because I made this one for somebody else.

Parts used:

Head, torso, backpack: Saga Snowtrooper
Arms, belt: Clone Commander
Legs: Clone Pilot
Kama: custom made and dyed

Paint jobs are friggin cool  8)!!

I really like the way Bacara looks. Did you use a washing technique to get some of his amor lines a bit black? And did his visor get a coat of high gloss?

The BARC looks very good. And you used the right helmet! There are two small, but very important differences with the Biker Scout helmet: 1) the nose piece and 2) the visor. I like the term BARC better as well, by the way. Ever noticed their face mask looks like a dog's snout? Hence, 'Bark' Trooper  ;D

Oh yeah, that wiring does look neat! I'd thought about paperclips, but that picture hanging wire has a beautiful conrete wire like texture. Splendid!!

441
Well, I bought your ingredients off eBay, Jedistyle! I expect them sometime next week. I bought two Colemans actually. I might have use for a second body for K'Krukh.

442
Oh wow!! You made K'krukh!! It's one of my to-do-figures, but a J'Quille is way too expensive for me. He looks awesome with that hat he stole from Rayden (Mortal Kombat) it seems.

What's your recipe for him (except for parts of J'Quille, that's pretty obvious  :) )?

The blue Commander shows you've got an extremely steady painting hand. Very, very precise.

Those mangos er.. mandos are pretty cool. I like the damaged helmet on the left one a lot.

That ARC really rocks! And what a great mini-diorama! And what I like about the Jedi and wolfface is, besides the excellent look, your use of so many various parts!

Customizing Tips and Tricks / Re: Removing Factory Paint?
« on: June 24, 2006, 12:55 AM »
Why not buy some regular #41s and paint those?

445
Darth Talon eh? If you say Talon, I immediately think 'Karrde"  :). Making a red tattooed Twi'lek should prove to be a very challenging paint job!

446
Wow, so again a Skywalker derails, huh? Looks good D_E and great use of parts of various figures!

I too think Legacy will provide lots of ideas and characters. I mean, look at those ugly dudes (the Zabrak, Twi'lek and strange black big monster-man).

447
Wow! I too really like how Roron was portrayed in the CW cartoons and your custom is a perfect hommage to him! Oh, and thanks for sharing the recipe, I'm very anxious to try this one myself  :)

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: OUtrider's Customs UPDATE 6/22

Like I said at TheJawa this addition to your RotE line looks very very nice!

Your attention to detail is stunning... again. Please don't tell me (actually, please do) that that head unit is removable? The holster looks smaller than the others you made. That's excellent work!

Let me guess: Tarkin body (I got 9 now   ;D), cast helmet, Ozzel hands (?) and head (modified)??

449
Coolness!!  8) A Bacara with removable helmet is on my to-do list as well. I like the head in particular. Which figure donated that? Not the AT-TE Gunner, because that one has more of a surprised look on his face. Are you gonna make a softgoods kama later on? That'd be really awesome.

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Incom's customs

It was pretty hard to find good pics of them, but here's one:

Actually,  the lollypop-man was black and had a Vader-esque helmet. I may make him sometime too.

Totally forgot my F-1 guy isn't complete yet. I have to give him a comm unit on his lower back and a wire in his helmet. Oops.
