Hey, as long as I get him by July for Comic-Con, I'm in.    ;)

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: 501st SA Clone
« on: February 19, 2006, 03:02 PM »
That looks REALLY good, and believe me...I know a thing or two about painting clones.  ;D

If I had to add anything,  I'd lose the Hasbro "weathering" and add your own, though...it would look a lot more authentic.

That would be nice. I have to wonder though...would EE be willing (or saavy enough to the EU) to do a character with a minor following at best?

It seems more likely they'd do a clone repaint, or maybe a Republic Commando repaint.

OMG...I just realized by highlighting "ass" in embarrassed, you were taking a dig at me on even ANOTHER level!

It's even FUNNIER now.  :P

Saga Collection '06 / Re: George Lucas in Stormtrooper Disguise.
« on: February 18, 2006, 11:57 PM »
Ha! The first thing that popped into my head with this younger version of the JorgTrooper was Lucas in Love!  :D

That was an amusing fan film, but after viewing Anakin and Padme's relationship in the prequels, I think we can categorically say George Lucas has NEVER been in love.  ;D

I am seriously underwhelmed by this figure. Why the hell do I want a figure of George Lucas?

Can the Rick McCallum the Hutt figure be far behind? Then we could have a George Lucas as Bib Fortuna figure to go with it...they have the same chin cushion.  :-X

Ooooooooooooooohhh, you guys really got me with that one!  Zing! Man, I'm really feeling it. I mean it, you guys...wow. You sure got me. What a zinger. I'll be smarting from that one for days. What a burn. Whoah, nelly. Is my face red.  I mean it, I'm really just speechless. Golly. I've been served. That's really good. You guys are funny! I mean...wow. Really sharp. You guys must have writers. Oof. Really hits close to home, ya know? And the bolding of the word "ass" in embarrassed...SHEER GENIUS! A lot of people think of Lenny Bruce as a trailblazer in comedy and wit, but that really takes the cake. I am sitting here, literally stunned. Really, I've been shaken to my very core. It takes an especially cutting comeback to make us stare deep into the twisted miasma of our own soul, and let me assure you...I was just on the receiving end of just such a witticism. Ooh, how it stings!

I posted because I enjoy pointing out the inane. And, because I thought the Adam Pawlus/Stormtrooper post was pretty damn funny.

By the way, just to clarify before you guys take any more offense, Pawlus was the one I was referring to as a tool, not JesseVader.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go try to recover from your stinging rebuke. It'll be hard, but I only hope I can persevere. I also wouldn't want to take time away from any "shill time" EE may have purchased.  ;)

Adam Pawlus in Stormtrooper Disguise.

Adam Pawlus in Napolean Dynamite disguise.

What a tool. This isn't even a "news" item. I'm embarrassed that JD posted it.

Congrats, Phruby! A Chewie original!

I tried to enter to win that one, but my e-mail got bounced back saying that address was no longer in service.  Ironically, the same message I get when trying to enter the NEW contest.  :P

Is there a fix to this situation?

Thanks, JJ, I think you really hit the nail on the head there.

I also appreciate that there's not too much to be said about clones anymore. When I post clones along with my other stuff, it's basically either because I designed a new, original paint scheme, or because I'm posting something else and basically go "Oh yeah, I did some clones too. See?"    :P

Spectre's Preds are really cool and I plan on doing some myself, although I have to say, the Microman stuff is a lot more fun to "play" with.

Hey Gregorbian,

I posted a full parts list up above, but the shoulder pads came from a Final Fantasy Gray Edwards figure.

That braid comes on the version of Obi-Wan that Chewie used.

Great job on all of these, Chewie. The paint apps are really what set your work apart. Tame Heem's skin tone looks awesome.

The repainted GIJOE Skyhawk looks awesome as well, and the Scorpion droid...very original! I also prefer this redesign of D4 to the original version...he looks a lot cooler. I love old droids, and he looks like a cranky old astromech. I look forward to seeing what kind of quirks you give him in the photonovel.

I have to agree with Ripley on this one...Chewie's a great effort, but it just doesn't look natural. However, on Teebo, it's simply amazing how realistic it looks. I can't stop looking at it.

Customizing Tips and Tricks / Re: Fodder Alert!

I would have bought the Seasme Street figures too. Nostalgia.

The company that bought Palisades and now owns the molds makes prop replicas and has stated that they are not looking to get into the action figure market; however, although they have the molds, my understanding is that the licenses do not transfer, so I don't think we're going to get these anytime soon.

Just to follow up on the Palisades closure: I found out yesterday if it's not in stores now, it doesn't exist. No Sesame Street, Terminator, Aqua Teen...nothing. The molds were made but no toys were ever produced.  :(
