I've had a some request for commissioned Customs lately. But, I have some reservations about making Customs that are for someone else's taste and standards. I like making customs and if I can create a way for my customizing hobby to help pay for it's self, it would only alow me to make more customs. Great right? The only thing is, if I'm making customs on someonelse's dime, I have to cater to their quirks and whims, which could make my hobby not so fun. So, I am Considering Ebay as an option. This way if some one likes a custom they can pick what they feel it's worth and I don't have to worry about unsadisfied clients because they see what's available and choose whether or not they want to purchase it. My question is does this help or hurt our Customizing Community? Please LMk your opinions on this matter.

Great Update Chewie!

Both of these Droids are Great Customs. They Both fit really well into the Star Wars Universe, But  B4-D2 is clearly the Stand out of the two.

The Palet you've chosen gives it age and a history.  It could have easily been one of the Droids in the Sandcrawler. The Red and Grey Panels > Very nice touch, not to flashy not to dull.

The Part mix is where this Custom gets it's character. It looks like an Evolutionary Step from the KOTOR Droids to the Orig Trillogy's Astromechs, a "Missing Link".

and I love the name B4-D2 (Before-Deetoo) Very clever.

Keep up the Great Work!

Is he holding his unit in this picture?

Ha!

From that Angle it does look a little funny.

It's just a loose strap from his Jumpsuit.  Don't get to excited ;D

Thanks Guys for all the Great feedback.

This one was a lot more complicated then it looked.

The Helmet is Spliced from the Bust Up's AT-AT Driver's helmet and the AT-TE Gunner's Helmet.

The head of the Bust up AT-AT Driver is made from 2 seperate Pieces. It was a a royal pain the You Know Where, to get the pieces apart.

Once I got the the Helmet Seperated, I had to Dremel alot to get it to fit Properly on the Gunners Head and leave enough room to get the Face Plate in there.

The Face Plate is a Biseced Clone Helmet. I also had to trim the Forhead off to get it to fit .

I was hoping to make the Helmet removable, but the fit is so tight, that the head pops off when I try to remove it.

I also Modified the Clone Rifle, although it's a little hard to tell from the pic. I added the Clip from J'QUILLE's blaster Rifle to the side of the Clone Rifle. I figured this guy, being the Door Gunner of a Gunship, would need the extra Ammo.

Thanks Again,

Fritzkrieg

Customizing Tips and Tricks / Re: Clone Pilot helmet
« on: January 10, 2006, 05:10 PM »
Hmmm,

I somehow managed to hollow out the ROTS Clone Pilot Helmet w/  my trusty Dremel.  The tough part is that the Mouth Piece is Glued on to the Helmet and it tends to loosen up during the Process.

I keep my index finger on the Oposite side of the Plastic Piece I'm hollowing out and when I feel the Plastic Start to Stretch From the Preasure of the Dremel I know I've Gone deep enough, This helps me keep from punching through the Plastic and ruining the Piece.

I don't know if everyone should try the technique I use to do this. But I am very comfortable w/ the Dremel tool.

Hope that helps a little.

Great Update Chewie!

Nomel> Great Paint Apps. The Part mix works very well. He looks like a former Eliteist who's been living out of Dumpsters, After he lost his fortune. At least thats what I get from his Lavish Robes that Haven't seen a Wash machine in months. Talk about your used Universe. It looks to me like this guys been used up and spit out. I could see a lot of Well off Aliens end up like this after the Emperor Starts his Anti-Alien Policies.

Female Wookie> I don't know if this one comes out very feminine. I think a Closed Mouth Chewie Sculpt or perhaps that Wizard's of the Coast Exclusive, I think his name was Whoor? or Something like that, Would have looked better as a Female Wookie. But, if your going for Chewie In a Medical Gown Your dead on.

Sgt. Kraist> Awsome I love the Look of the Scout Trooper Helmet w/ the Clone Armor. The Color Palet you used for the Armor is Very Urban. Is the Pouldron Removable?

Mysterious Bounty Hunter>The Part mix goes together seemlessly. The Color Palet is very Delta Force like, which is awsome. I can see this guy as a Covert Operative. Only one suggestion give him a Unique Custom Blaster. This is clearly the Gem of the Bunch.

Keep up the Great Work!

I need some help finding the Best Parts to use to make a couple of Female Imperial Science Officers. I could not find a good Reference Pic online but If you have the Latest Dark Horse> Empire: "Wrong Side of the War" comics There is a pic. or 2 in Those Books. The Uniform is your Basic Imperial Coveralls but I need it to Work for a couple of Shapely Female Characters in my Photo Novel. LMK if you can think of any thing.

Great Choice of Parts for Quinlin!

Very nice. This a great representation of this character.

The Paint Aps are Dark and Grity>Perfect for Vos, The Skin Tone is perfect, I use the same Walmart Paints and have a hard time mixing up a good batch of skin tone. What Colors did you mix to get it?

The Way you attached the Kiadi Hands to the Luke Arms is seemless.

The Hair> Very effective, You could use this technique to make a great Bob Marley Custom.

Keep um Commin!

A Great Place to Start would be Discount and Close-Out Stores, like BIG LOTS and Dollar Tree. Walmart also has CORPS figs for a $1. I also always Check the Clearence section of the Toy department for potential fodder. And of corse don't forget your extra assesorie bin. With a little Imagination and a Hoby Knife you you'd be suprised w/ what you can Create using Spare Gun Parts.

Hope this was helpful,

Fritzkrieg
