The Legacy Collection / Re: Recent Legacy Purchases
« on: May 15, 2009, 10:51 PM »
Well as it turns out it looks like by sheer luck, I now have both a "silver" and a "champange" U-3PO so I'm good.

Here's the weird thing - the "silver" one came out of the set of figures I picked up at WalMart this week. My "champange" one came from the case of figures I bought online, and had for almost a month.

So which version came first? The info on that otheR Site forum indicates that the "champange" color pieces came from WM while his "silver" piece came from Target. In contrast, my entire "silver" figure came from a set purchased at WM.

So I have to wonder if there is any rhyme or reason with regards to the coloring. One thing is for sure, if you're not lucky enough to find this entire wave all at once, open up the figures you find first and then bring them with you while you're shopping so you'll be sure to pick up all six pieces of the same tint.

Walmarts across the country have been getting in the cases with the 'skirted' Hoth Trooper and the 'champange' colored U-3PO droid pieces.

Target still seems to be stuck on cases with 'skirt-less' Hoth Rebels and 'silver' color U-3PO pieces.

"Champange" vs. "Silver" U-3PO pieces?!?!

I got a case of Wave 6 from an online retailer and I would consider the U-3PO from that case definitely silver.

Now I have to go check these new parts vs. the figure I already have....

*sigh* I'm really starting to hate this ****....

Has anyone seen the two exclusive 12" figures at TRU yet? TRU is supposed to be getting 12" versions of Sulu and Pike.

I wish they had introduced the new cockpit with the white TRU release. I hope they don't go back and give us white, blue and gray versions all with the new cockpit. It's bad enough that when I get one of these for my MIB collection, it will be the sixth large-wing TIE that I add to my collection. (I have both the "Clean" White and "Dirty" White variants from the TRU release)

Well - so far I've gotten four Hoth Rebel Troopers and all of them have been "skirted". I would have liked to find at least ONE un-skirted version to put in my MOC collection...

Scored a complete set of the ESB Wave 6 figures. Unfortunately the Hoth Rebel Trooper was "skirted".

Ok - so I got my first opener yesterday and I opened it up this morning. What the HECK happened to the handle on the sled?!?!?!

At first I thought mine was broken so I went an looked at my MIB set and that one too has a short handle. If you look at the back of the box, the handle is supposed to be nice and long so the tech doesn't have to have his arm ridiculously bent back to "drive" the cart.

Is there a hidden piece somewhere that I didn't find? Or did Hasbro change the part post product photography?

Found a set of Wave 5 and two of the Jabba battle packs recently.

I really like this Wave, although my Kit Fisto seems to have legs of two different lengths, so I need to put him on a figure stand in order to get him to remain standing. Otherwise I think it's a great figure in terms of sculpt.

I love the Jabba BP!

Picked up two of these this morning and I have to say, I'm quite excited to get home from work and open one up.

I REALLY like how the Animated Jabba turned out!

Picked up one this morning (my first) - I hope I'm able to easily acquire another two to open. This is a great pack.

What about Captain Typho?  He'd trump all those to me...

Captain Typho is coming in the AOTC wave that's coming later this year.

I believe that it's the next wave after the ESB wave that is just starting to hit now.

Unless you mean him in a different outfit. I wouldn't mind new versions of him and Padme in the pilot outfits from the beginning of the movie.

Ouch.....I feel bad for the two of everything people out there on these things.  Makes me feel better that I'm not a completest anymore though.  $$

I am normally a "two of everything" person. But for these, I'm leaning towards just getting one of each to keep MIB. If it turns out that the Hailfire Droid or V-Wing are indeed repainted in some way, then I will get them. If not, then only one of each for me with these.

Wow - bring on the suck!

Out of the four, I think the only one I'm "kinda" happy is coming is the Gelagrub Patrol one. Sure there should be two clones and two grubs, but since the Dewback and Stormtrooper was $14.99 ten years ago, it's only fair that it's a $23 item now.

The rest are lame.

Like Jesse pointed out - Luke wasn't even at the Battle of Endor - why not just pack in two more Ewoks?

The Commando Droids set should have just had four droids - there's no need for another animated clone - I suppose if I had to pick one other set I didn't mind - this would be it.

And of course, I'm still peeved that the Gunship Gun Pod pack only comes with ONE pod....

Battlepacks are officially no longer a good "value".
