LEGO / Re: Missing/Wrong Pieces?
« on: May 22, 2007, 07:20 AM »
I'm on page 6 of my Star Destroyer and I've got 4 dark grey "triangle" pieces facing right and 2 dark grey facing left....I can't borrow from any of the other color fields as I'll face the same problem down the road, so what do you do in this situation??  I bought this thing on clearance at Target so I can't exactly exchange it as they're sold out.

You can contact Lego and tell them that your set was missing pieces and they will send them to you free of charge.  I did this with the Death Star II since I was missing a piece or two and several pages from the instruction booklet.  At the same time, I got a piece for my Mustafar Duel set and the Hailfire Droid set, so age of the set didn't matter either.

Sylar took the ice power from one of Molly's parents when he killed them.  I like your theory about the cliffhangar.  If Peter does have the Haitian's powers and knows how to use them, he would be pretty much unstoppable and no way in Hell Sylar could even scratch him.  One thing that I just thought of last night about the explosion.  Hiro can freeze time and teleport people.  Why the Hell doesn't he just stop time right before the explosion occurs and teleport the "Exploding Man" to the desert?  His future self could have told him when and where to be.  I guess we will see on Monday how this all plays out.

Why would Peter just grab Sylar and transport him...he would have Hiro's power if they ran into each other.

Plus, do we actually know if Peter has all of Sylar's abilities?  We haven't seen him use any.  He should have Sylar's ability to see how powers work.

Ok, Amy from MR held a chat in the MR forums last evening on this subject.  Of course she could not give us details about the talks and why they couldn't come to agreement, but she did talk product line.

There will be no MR booth at C4, but they will still have their booth at SDCC.  Wedge Helmet ($55) and Mini Medal of Yavin ($15) will be sold on the website.  No mention if CS members will get first crack or not.  All items that are currently up or have been up for preorder are being made, in addition, the following items are definately being made:

Mara Jade Lightsaber Limited Edition

Shadow Trooper Helmet (CS Exclusive)

Luke Ep. VI V2 Limited Edition

Boba Fett Helmet Limited Edition

Boba Fett Helmet Signature Edition

The Shadow Trooper helmet has been bumped up to 500 units, is CS exclusive, and the lottery system has been will be the normal ordering procedure.

This list does not mean other items will not be made from their planned 2007 list.  It will all depend on time.  They cannot produce anything past Dec. 31, 2007...and then have 90 days after that to sell any remaining inventory.  They had some nice prototype picture of the Studio Scale X-wing (cockpit and engines light up!).  Also, they can develop new products if Lucasfilm approves.  They mentioned Dooku FX and ROTJ Vader mini and TPM Kenobi will all depend on time.  They first priority are finishing the above mentioned items.

Even by their own admission, Corgi are idiots.  Why would you give up 20% of your business?  Did they merge with MR just to kill them off?  I would think this would severely effect MR's bottom line.

His first attempt is saving Claire via Peter.  It works, but history still repeats itself with minor changes.  Peter blows up NY, and somehow Sylar fakes his death.  He still kills Nathan, but doesn't get Claire until that point he seems like he was going to take over the world.

The cool thing is - is that the younger 'hiro' mentioned about Sylars' capture and that there was a way to defeat him now because of that. I feel his capture only happened because of the cheerleader being saved and thus the slightly different history happened as a result.

I wonder if (after looking at previews) Hiro will go back again and try to kill Sylar at HRG's holding cell. What if Hiro went all the way back to before Mohinder's fathers' critical rejection interview with Sylar? I know it was not in the comic book but what if Hiro killed Sylar before he got his powers OR talked Mohinder's father into accepting Sylars' ability so he wouldn't go psycho from the rejection?

I guess Hiro can't go back to before Sylar got any of his powers and kill him because this whole series could have been over months ago ::).  --though he technically has the ability to do so.

I think it would take future Hiro to pull something like that off.  Present Hiro still doesn't have a real good handle on his abilities.  Even if Mohinder's father accepted Sylar, I still don't believe he is really stable.  I think we will learn more about Sylar next week, especially when he goes to see his mother.  Even when he was rejected, he still had a power...he could see how other peoples powers worked, and through killing them, could acquire those powers.

From the previews, it looks like Hiro does try to kill Sylar.  I'm thinking that Hiro freezes him, but somehow, Sylar can either fight it off or is immune to it.

My favorites are:

General Tso's Chicken w/ white rice
Orange Beef/Chicken
Pork Egg Roll
Bar B Q Spare Ribs
Hot and Sour Soup

I also had a shrimp dish at one place that was shrimp with candied walnuts.  I haven't found any other place that makes a similar dish, but it was really good.

I think Sylar will definitely get a hold of the shapeshifter, and hen he does, awful things will happen. Awful things.

John your theory about Sylar taking Nathans place might be good, maybe hes starts heroes for their powers with his presidential authority. Could be why Mo was saying, 'This is genocide' to Nathan on the previews.

This show really generates questions, it bugs me! In a good way.

Wow...I almost feel like I sort of foresaw that.

I thought that was a very cool episode. Matt is so evil in the future, it was like one of them ST 'mirror universe' episodes. His wife and kid must have powers. Interesting.

Was that email girl that was helping Bennett and got shot in the head? I think it was.

Actually, I was wondering who that girl was as well.  At first, I thought it was the shape shifter, but she must have been killed by Sylar so he could take over Nathan's ability.  Even though NBC commercials promo'ed this episode as what could have happened, I look at it more like what actually did happen.  I don't think future Hiro is aware of any changes he makes in the timeline.  I think his first attempt was to go back to Peter and tell him save the cheerleader, save the world.  Isaac painted the future that Hiro is supposed to kill Sylar.  I think in the original timeline, before Hiro figured anything out from the comics, Sylar kills Claire at homecoming, kills radiation man at some point to get his power, kills Isaac to see that Nathan becomes president, then blows himself up in NY in order to get Nathan elected and/or to get the country against people with power.  He then regenerates with Claire's power.  After that, he kills Nathan (killing the shapeshifter first) to take over the Presidency.  Future Hiro lives through all these events and constructs his timeline and then tries to change it.  His first attempt is saving Claire via Peter.  It works, but history still repeats itself with minor changes.  Peter blows up NY, and somehow Sylar fakes his death.  He still kills Nathan, but doesn't get Claire until that point he seems like he was going to take over the world.

The highest I've seen in Delaware was $3.09 this morning.

I ordered one as well.  I am hoping it turns out to be a good piece.  I think it will go well with my Vader helmet.

Another new (exclusive) trailer has shown up at Yahoo Movies.  Its a bit longer, and with even more scenes than the previous.  Definitely looking forward to seeing this.

This looks like it will definately be the best movie yet.

Claires grandma sure made it sound like she has a power. Im very interested in how her character develops as the series goes on.

I think Isaac's gone. Especially cuz Linder made it sound like there were other future-painting artists.

One question--Who made out what Sylar painted? It looked like Sylar in the Oval office. Who else knows what Im talking about?

I think this series keeps getting more and more interesting.  8)

I actually thought it was the same picture Linderman had...only with less artistic ability then Isaac had.

I am wondering what Isaac meant by he would show the others how to defeat Sylar before Sylar killed him...unless it was in that final comic he sent out.

Also, in the scenes for next week, there was a picture of Sylar on a news cast.  Did it say he was a hero beneath his name?

I made the final table of a Texas Hold 'Em tournament last night but did not place in the money.

I had pocket kings. I raise four times the big blind. I get one caller. The flop was then Ace, Ace, Ace.

I have the second best possible hand. An "Aces over Kings" full house. The only thing that can beat me is if he has the fourth Ace. Since he had called my previous bet I decide to bet 3 times the big blind to see where I am at. I actually want to bet more but I am sure he is going to re-raise.

Sure enough he re-raises and I call.

The same thing happens on the turn. I bet, he re-raises, and I call.

I bet after the river and he re-raises "all in." He could have almost anything with Ace, Ace, Ace, and two low cards on the board. There is a good chance he also has a full house. I don't know what the odds are of him having the fourth Ace but I know I have the best possible full house. There is also no straight flush possiblilities.

I make the call and he has the Ace. Blah. I am crippled and blinded out shortly thereafter. All of my friends (who were already eliminated and in sour moods) said I played that hand all wrong. I don't know though. I flopped the best possible full house. How do you get away from that?

Well, he re-raised your post flop bet, and you showed some weakness by downgrading your post flop bet from 4x to 3x the big blind.  You fell perfectly into his trap since he reraises you on each street and you kept calling.  Any time that the flop comes out trips, you have to think someone may have the fourth card.  His odds on having the ace?  Better than you think.  Preflop, there are four aces in the deck, so that is 1:13.  However, you are dealt two cards, so his odds increase to 2:13.  The odds the flop comes out the last three aces?  1:4960...that is assuming there are ten players and that none of those players had an ace.  It would leave 32 cards in the deck preflop so the first card is 3:32, second 2:31 and third 1:30...offcourse you can drop the denominators by one if the dealer burns the top card.  Anyways, you should have either gone all in preflop, or stopped leading out betting after he reraised post flop.  By always betting first and then getting reraised and calling it, you were pot commited by the river and had to call.  Laying down a hand like that is tough, but a skill you must acquire to be successful.

Hmm, I'm not too keen on getting yet another X-wing and Snowspeeder.  At least they packed the Snowspeeder with some cool Hoth diorama stuff, but the Luke maquette doesn't really do it for me.  I hope they make the X-Wing specific like they did with Wedge for the last one.

Wow, Ron finally gets rich.

I think this will be a really good book.  I like the little bit of preview that we get to read on the British covers.

I would say definately an April Fool's joke.  Everyone remember the dead Kenobi robe and half a Darth Maul offerings?   The catagory itself could be real, but I don't think the figure is.  I would expect to see a real figure up for preorder shortly after this though.
