Announcements / Notice: Forum Changes
« on: May 22, 2009, 12:00 PM »
Due to lack of activity, the following changes have been made to the forums.

- The Trivia Board has been removed - all discussion was moved to the Star Wars Universe Board.

- The International Corner Board has been removed - all Canadian topics were moved to the new Canada, eh! Section (enjoy your new home, Canadians ;)).  Threads for all other countries have been moved to the Mission Logs (Store Reports) Board.

That's all for now, but I'm sure there will be a bit more fine-tuning and spring cleaning in the near future...

Announcements / - Now Under New Ownership!
« on: May 17, 2009, 06:25 PM »
I am excited to announce a few big changes you’ll see coming soon to

First, has been sold and transferred to new co-owners - Paul Mundheim and myself, Jeff Smentek.  Both of us are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to play larger roles in the development of and its online community.  We’d like to thank the former owner, Chris Berry, for all of his hard work and dedication to the site over the past 6+ years.

Second, is pleased to announce the addition of Han’s Hideout as an affiliate site.  The loyal Hideout readers will be happy to know that the site will still be maintained going forward.  You’ll still find the news, features, and Hasbro Q&A sessions you’ve come to expect, as well as new columns, rants, and more.

In addition to the changes listed above, over the next few weeks you’ll also see a number of other changes coming your way:
  • changes in the JediDefender Staff
  • the return of regular news and front page updates
  • the return of give-aways
  • new figure customizing contests
  • and a few other things we’ll be revealing at a future date (after all, we can’t let all the cats out of the bag at once!)

If you have a suggestion on something you think we can do to make a better place to visit, please drop by the Suggestion Thread or send us an email and let us know!

Stay tuned for more and thanks for reading!

Thread title says it all.  Consider this the "suggestion box" for JediDefender.

If you have something you'd like to see added (or subtracted) from the site, please let us know and we will investigate any and all options on the topic.  There is no guarantee any action will be taken on your suggestion, but it never hurts to put ideas out there for us to investigate.

Don't want to broadcast your idea in public for fear of backlash?  Then just send me your idea via email and we'll keep it private!

Thanks for reading!

Watto's Junk Yard / It's SyFy-lous!
« on: March 17, 2009, 12:21 PM »
SCI FI Channel is evolving into Syfy

Seriously?  Syfy?   All so they can own and trademark their network name?

What a terrible name/idea...  ::)

and yes, I only started the topic to make the syfylous joke.   :-[

The Legacy Collection / Wedge Antilles' Red Two X-Wing Starfighter
« on: February 6, 2009, 03:32 PM »
From UK etailer Forbiden Planet:

"The X-wing fighter has become the symbol of the Rebellion. Swift, reliable and highly responsive in battle, this rugged craft is capable of absorbing plenty of damage in combat. X-wings have flown in all the major battles against the Empire and are the preferred fighters of Rebel pilots. In the bustling Alliance hangars, X-wings are prepared for another battle with Imperial fighters, as pilots and technicians check engines, instruments and weapons. One Alliance pilot, Wedge Antilles, flew an X-wing in the Battle of Yavin as Red Two and as Red Leader in the Battle of Endor."

The Legacy Collection / Legacy Wave 11 - Revenge of the Sith

Hey, since I'm in a thread starting mood tonight...  why not get this one started since it's the only 2009 wave left without a thread.   :P

I'm not sure if anything has been confirmed for this wave or not yet, but I'd like to see that Senate Duel Palpy finally make it out this time...

Looks like a second ANH wave in 2009 has been confirrmed in a few of the Q&As this week.

As a certified Cantina Aliens nut, I'd love to see more of them announced... but as a realist, I can see that probably won't happen since we're getting so many in Wave 5 already.  Instead, I'll hope to see some of the other missing figures we're all hoping to see announced - Praji, updated Owen/Beru, updated RFT, etc.

The Legacy Collection / The Legacy Basic Figure Plan for 2009
« on: December 5, 2008, 10:41 PM »
Thanks to the Q&A Session @ Han's Hideout, we've got a clear idea of what goes where in 2009:

Spring 2009:
- Legacy Wave 5 EpIV (8 figures)
- Legacy Wave 6 EpV (6 figures)
- Legacy Wave 7 EpVI (8 figures)

Fall 2009:
- Legacy Wave 8 EpIV (8 figures)
- Legacy Wave 9 EpI (6 figures)
- Legacy Wave 10 EpIII (6 figures)
- Legacy Wave 11 EpV (6 figures)

Winter 2009 / Spring 2010:
- Legacy Wave 12 EU (6 figures)

Appox. Total for 2009 = 48 Legacy figures (54 if they get that EU wave back on track)

Looking over the list, I have to wonder what happened to the rumored EpII wave with the semi-confirmed Owen and Beru?  Is that second EpIV wave supposed to be the EpII wave?  Did it get bumped/dropped?  Hmmm...

212th Attack Battalion: Utapau Clone Trooper 12-inch Figure

Once they get this one out there, I'm sure it won't be long before the sea of repaints begins...  :P

Feedback / Keonobi's feedback

I'm a little late getting this one started, but I recently completed a deal with John.  Everything went smoothly - fast payment and good communication.  Thanks again!  :)

Announcements / Thanks for 4+ Great Years
« on: September 8, 2008, 12:53 AM »
I’ve been putting this off because I couldn’t decide how best to say it, but the time has come to get it out there...

I have decided to resign from my staff position at JediDefender.  A number of factors have led me to this decision, but I'll spare you the gritty details.  Instead, I'll just say that I am at a point in my life where I'd like a bit more free time and a reduced stress level, so something had to give.

Don't get me wrong, I still love this place - the people, the discussions, the atmosphere.  The forums are A+/#1 and always will be.  I will still be hanging around to enjoy the discussions (and probably continuing to moderate the Minnesota Store Reports area for my fellow Minnesotans).

Thanks again to all of you - the front page news readers, forum members, my fellow Staffers - for making my 4+ years on the staff here so much fun.

Well of the Souls / Target Exclusive Battle Packs
« on: July 25, 2008, 12:22 AM »
Looks like this is what Target will have for the fall when the KotCS DVD comes out...

Target "Jungle Chase" KotCS Battle Pack

Includes even more repacks - Jacket Mutt, Spalko, Dovchenko, Skull Indy, Russian.  Again I say, "damn Hasbro and their relics for tricking me into buying these figures for $7 each already."  I knew I should have just waited for the eventual cheap repacks but I just couldn't wait...    >:(   :'(

Well of the Souls / Wal-Mart DVD Release 3-Packs
« on: July 25, 2008, 12:11 AM »
Per usual, expect these to show up around the time of the KotCS DVD release...  $12 per box.

T-Shirt Mutt, RPG Indy, Dovchenko
Jacket Mutt, Skull Indy, Spalko

Looks like they are definitely all just repacks, so they are an easy pass for me...  $12 for 3 figures is a hell of a deal though, too bad I have them all already.   ::)
