Got a super-fast payment from Paul for some figures!

I always love the simple, smooth transactions and this was definitely one of them.   :)

If they get blown out 7-0 and you have two guys and the goalie, you could really lose a whack of points in one night.   ;D

Or, maybe your stud ends up on the ice for 4 of the 5 goals against you:

-3.60 from my #1 pick tonight.   ::)

Wow, that picture really shows off Wulff!  Great background choice...   :P

Well, let's just hope that the production version is the Hasbro photo then.

Unfortunately, we really have no way of knowing which picture is "newer" or the version we'll get.  Like Jayson said, plenty of times we've seen a good-looking sculpt/paint job on the hand-painted/promo figures only to have some kind of manufacturing glich or last minute swap screw it up...  :-\

Picked these up today at my local Wal-Mart ($28.97 each plus tax):

The price seems kind of steep for 4 figures and a tin, but I guess it's only about $6 for each item and the repacks they picked aren't half bad.  Plus, at least Wal-Mart was $1 cheaper than TRU or Target (which list them at $29.99).

I've already got a bunch of JD stuff to do tonight, but hopefully I can get them open and get some nice loose comparison pictures tomorrow night...  ;)

And they didn't put up a pic of Obi-Wan.

Sure looks to me like they put up an Obi-Wan pic...  ???

Hasbro has updated with the official announcement on this wave...

- one interesting new note, confirmation that R2-D2 and the Super Battle Droid do, in fact, combine together...

I still like this R2-D2, even if he is all yellow and scene specific.  I've got dozens of other "netural" R2's, so I have no problem with this one (since this is how I'd probably display it anyway)...  of course, I'd still like a nice neutral "sneak preview sculpt" R2.   ;)

Official Preview for 300

Wow.  From the preview, it looks like they are really trying to stick to the Miller-esque vibe a la Sin City.

300 is a fantastic piece of work by Miller, so I really hope that this turns out as well as Sin City did.  It would be a major let-down if the movie version turns out all crappy.   :-\

Without the prequels despite the EP1 product lag I really do not think the line would be here today.

Yeah, I kind of agree -

Kenner basically said the whole reason for the '96 POTF2 launch was to test the "SW Toys" water prior to the prequels.  Without the prequels to capture the kids, I don't think anyone would have bothered to revisit Star Wars toys.  Hasbro always always says "kids first" - no prequesl = no kids = no toys.

We may well have ended up with some of the high-end stuff eventually, but it would have been way less I imagine...

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Target Exclusive Rogue Two Snowspeeder
« on: October 5, 2006, 10:06 AM »
Has anyone been actually finding these on the shelves, or just by using the DCPI #?

Yes, some Targets started the season reset over last weekend.   We had a few brand new or remodeled Target stores open locally yesterday and they debuted with the new planogram - the 3 new non-exclusive Battle Packs, Kit's Starfighter, and the Snowspeeder were all stocked on the shelves.

Been a few reports of other Target stores across the country re-setting the toy aisle or stashing the Snowspeeders on the "overlfow" area on the very top shelf area.

Kubricks / Re: Attack of the Kubricks!

They didn't forget about the Be@rs, he just didn't want the info on them:

No Bearbricks of 400%, but everything else Star Wars Kubrick.

 ;)

Sideshow has posted a nice Q&A on these...

- The "Strike Force" Bundle should go on sale tomorrow between 6-7PM Pacific (9-10PM Eastern).
- No exclusive edition is planned...
- But, 2 of the figures (Rebel Sergeant and Nik Sant) are ONLY available via Sideshow's website.
- Individual figures are $60, the bundle is $180 (the only savings is in the lower shipping cost)

Head on over to Sideshow for the whole thing.   ;)

In addition to the convention exclusive coin rumors, we've also got rumors of UGH gold coins next year too and that could be what Hasbro means by "promo" coins...

POTF Cards would be pretty cool though if they could swing it.  As lame as it is to say it, I'd be all over a VOTC-quality Sim Aloo or VOTC quality YakFace.   :-[
