I had my eye on it...Thought it might've stayed at $165 cuz of the weird ending time of the auction, but nope.

My first reaction to the vinyl/vintage re-does was an eye roll. But Ben is great, and I look forward to a vader to match. Honestly, the line can't survive on characters only seen for .7 seconds or that made it on to a CCG card. At least they have found a way to bring the main characters back in to the fold with some creativity (retro), rather than repacks (R2 has no business here though)

I agree. The early bird set is awesome, they're like the "vintage" kubricks now. These new vintage reboots aren't meant to improve upon the old ones (like Hasbro replacing their shoddy sculpts with less shoddy sculpts), they're just a different style. They are a cash grab, but they're probably necessary to keep the line going, and luckily, in my opinion, they look great.

Morgbug, I agree that the TIE Pilot, R2 etc are in no way cool or necessary. And that Medicom has removed the fun from being a completist and made it more of a costly chore. Still hope you stick around and rekindle your cranky love for kubricks. I always enjoyed your posts from reading back to old threads from the glory days, when you bastards were cracking open $200 master cases like there was no tomorrow. Wish I had been collecting at that time!

I considered cancelling my box of 12 as well, but then decided to keep it. Figured I'd give fate a chance to hook me up with Maximillian Veers for free, cuz I ain't buying him. If I don't get a chase hopefully I can sell the other set of 6 and break even.

I BIN'd a background card this morning for $65/free shipping. I'm probably a fool for that but you never know how scarce they'll be.

A Lackey or General Maximilian Veers as the seller calls it sold for a bin of $199.95.

And $3 shipping...not too bad. Anybody here grab that?

On one hand I'm happy that I can save my money. I have no desire to own that black R2 even if there are small differences to the original...I didn't like it that much the first time around. To be honest, I wouldn't mind owning the Imperial flunky but I'd never pay more than $130 or so for it.

From here out I'll just get what I really like. There's a lot to like about this release. For me its the Vader, Leia, Antilles, Dignitary and the backdrop. They did an awesome job on those--if Captain Antilles was the chase we'd all be flipping our **** to get it. Just a little depressing that Medicom seems to be on hard times and/or throwing in the towel on this line...hope that isn't the case and we see more awesome SW kubs released in the future.

Ha, I got scared when I saw that picture of Tarkin above--thought he might've been the second chase for a second!

Yeah, looks like they played with it in the sandbox and scraped a decal off his chest before they took the picture.

Maybe instinctoy got sent some kind of preproduction mock up by mistake?  :-\ :)

If it had the uniform details like the vintage figure, it would've made a nice vintage imperial commander, and the fact that they reused Veers' face would've make sense.

Would've made a great Death Star flunky like in the pic Symposium posted, except that even they have some "pleats" on their shirts, and they are not General Veers.

Not a bad fig imo, but kinda cheap and uninspired.

Nah, don't be concerned. It's been that way for months.

HLJ has a set number of pre-orders and once that allocation is sold out they put up that order stop. Pretty standard for them, it's just that SW stuff attracts more demand.

Cool, thanks! Haven't gone the route of getting a box before--looking forward to trying my luck at a chase.

If there was a way to switch the card artwork from what I'm sure will be from TPM to that of Cloud City, I'd be all over it.

If that's something you'd really be interested in, we could make it happen. Just sayin'.  ;)

I checked in on my preorder on hlj.com and the status of my box of 12 says "Order Stop." Anybody else preorder from them seeing this same message, or something different? Can't tell from the fine print if it means that my preorder got bumped or if that's just the standard status for items they haven't received yet.

To me he'll be the rude E-3PO, who insulted C-3PO on Cloud City. ("E chu ta!")       :)

I remember seeing that auction awhile ago. In small print it says "Could be one of the rare secret variant Boba Fetts shown below." (italics added by me)

I'm still missing the series 1 chase fetts as well as the L-Slop, the color prototype and the DX1. Out of those I'd most like to get a hold of the DX1 Fett--I like the ROTJ-style tan costume, plus that's the only DX chase I'm missing.
