Well that was eloquent...
Seriously, this whole thing is shady... It's worth talking about. I've said it before that I don't begrudge Dustin getting the stuff or the title even, it's just that there obviously was some shady **** going on and this whole thing wasn't "fun", it wasn't even fair for anyone without some financial backing.
It turned out to be a joke... I'm not even pissed off really, just disappointed that this is how the hobby is. That this contest became a gig you could simply buy your way into whether you were Dustin or USCWannabe... Neither one would've won this in a way I thought would've been "fun". It was a crock from the start and it's a crock at the finish. I'm still not surprised... I'm not surprised by the answer Philip gave either as he's given that answer before.
It is what it is though... So I'm not mad. Disappointed no doubt. Disappointed in the hobby, the people involved in it... It's silly. But that's life I guess. In any hobby I've ever been involved in, it's the same way. For instance re-enactments I used to do (Civil War) and there were guys in that who treated people like **** too, and took advantage of the hobby, or pushed themselves on it... It was no different and ultimately I quit because it was incredibly costly. This is the same thing just different situations and circumstances.
