Ughhhhh! Another overpriced exclusive. Oh well. At least I can make this one some type of CO to exclude him from too much army building.

Why is it that the flag is in Enligh rather than Aurebesh? This guy looks pretty good other than that one little detail, I may get 1, and only 1. If this guy had been at retail I would have picked up around 20.

As long as they keep making it EU, I don't give a **** what they do.

If this were a Galactic Marine or Kashyyyk BARC trooper, I'd have a beef.

Easy enough to pass on because for me not movie accurate or EU accurate. Looks like he belongs in Vader's section chearing for the Dark Lord of the Sith at a Sporting Event. Being a non-completist, I'm back on passing on figures I don't want or that I cannot justify the cost on.

HA! BlackDog this made me laugh out loud.

You're right, it looks like you should push that base and it will say in Temura's voice "Vader, Vader, He's Our Man, If He Can't Kill Him, No One Can! YEAH!"

Of course, I need two. Unlike the Shadow Stormtroopers which was an easy buy from SWShop.com today, this one is going to be a major P.I.T.A., I just know it. Now I have to hope that Matt will take pity on me again this year...

The price alone kills it for me.   Honestly the $15 price tag on exclusives lately just turns me off so damn much.  At least this one is just a VOTC stormtrooper for the most part.  I can live without it.  Sorry to be negative I don't like to be but it really is getting my boxers in a bunch lately.

My opinion too Ryan...  I'd have liked it all spelled in Aurabesh, but at the same time I'd have bought a TON of this figure at basic retail but as an overpriced exclusive I'll stick with one I guess...  If it's not horribly hard to find and priced, I'd get two.

The Nazi-ish look of the standard bearer accessory and stuff really is kind of unique and neat.  I like the match to real-world history there with Imperials, and this figure taking that a bit further.

Of course it's going to be ungodly priced though, so I'll get one and that's it.  The banner is quite neat though.  That's a nice accessory.

RS updated the link that was initially in the first thread:

http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/UPDATE_501st_San_Diego_Comic_Con_Exclusive_Figure_98083.asp

As if collectors didn't have enough on their plate with San Diego Comic Con exclusives for 2006 already, up pops this new mysterious image along with the following text...

"As per the 501st Merchandising Officer:

"Hasbro is making a 501st Legion action figure to be sold exclusively at the Hasbro booth at the San Diego Comic Con. The figure will have "501st Legion" printed on its chest and include a 501st Legion fabric banner.

What the figure doesn't show is the packaging. Assuming they haven't changed the design since we first spoke, the packaging will include a special trading card, using the 501st trading card artwork, that is removable without opening the package so you can insert your own trading card.

It will only be available at the SDCC Hasbro booth for $15."

Stay tuned to Rebelscum.com for more news as it hits!

*This item has been confirmed. We're looking to find out more as soon as the parties involved do, and can pass along that info. Things like production numbers, availability after the show and daily limits if any have yet to be determined. We're also awaiting the final packaging design as it will be unique to this figure alone from what I hear. As usual, keep it tuned in right here for more soon as it comes across our desk!

If that had happened, Pawtucket would be burning right now.  :)

Yeah,
RS updated the link that was initially in the first thread:

Yeah, I had a few e-mails in the in-box this morning from some of the 501st members.  It sounds like the cat was let out of the bag a little early as the card designs are not final, but this is pretty much confirmed at this point.

Should be at the Hasbro booth at this year's SDCC.  It will be carded in a style similar to the 501st trading cards and will run the same as the other Stormtrooper ($14.99), but no word on when/how/if it will be available after SDCC.   :-\

Definitely a neat way to connect OT with PT and Star Wars with real history.  I hope to track down one for my wall.

Just so we're clear I in NO WAY endorse Nazis, Hilter Youth or the like.
I am simply posting this image for comparative reasons.

I wouldn't be surprised if the flag included with the figure was altered more as to not so closely resemble the Nazi staff/flag

I think the comparison is valid, I've always seen the analogy between the two, whether it was intended or not.

I am surprised that LFL actually approved it.
