It would be truly cool to get this figure someday... they might make it, but I'm not holding my breath just yet.

Mine is about 50% done.  I'll try to take an in-progress picture tonight and maybe get her finished.

CloneWars Cartoon -Season III Clones CARDED
« Reply #17 on: July 18, 2005, 12:02 PM »
Here are my season 2 cartoon clones.

I did some work on the cardbacks, i still need to cut them and spraymount them.

I put a peg on the pack of cody that the backpack fits onto.

Geeze, these are awesome.  You are so good at this stuff.

I really like the movie style customs better, but these are really cool.  Hasbro should see these... they would be a goldmine at retail!

Seriously!  Normally I don't consider buying customs, but man, if you sold these I would definitely buy a set!  You should open up a store Glassman! ;D
I hope hasbro is paying attention to your stuff

Ok, here's my weak attempt at this... I really did try to make a good figure, but it didn't turn out nearly as nice as the ones you guys made.

I had a couple of problems first of all -

(1)  I didn't want to hang the figure

(2)  I didn't have all the parts that I felt I needed

(3)  I can't sculpt... this was my first attempt at this

So, I decided that what does a Mon Calamari dancer look like when she's not floating around the Coruscant Opera?  She wears a skirt maybe.  I usually come up with fan-fic customs, and I hope that's alright that I did that with this one.

Here she is... sorry for no "in-progress" pics...

Here's how I made her...

(1)  Meena Tills head/hands

(2)  Ayy Vida body

Here's when I was stumped... I decided at this point to cut the Ayy Vida's hands off and cut her in half at the waist line.  Then, I decided it was time to use some sculpy and try and make those fin-like things that the Mon Calamari have on their wrist area and use that to hold the new fish hands onto the arms.  I sculpted that with a toothpick to make some details on them.  Then, I decided to find a skirt for her.

(3)  Flashback Ceremony Leia skirt

So I glued her at the waist to the skirt.  Now I needed something to hold the head on and still have articulation.  So I used a Gungan Energy Ball Staff and cut it to make a new peg (worked well with the thicker handle end working as a ball joint for the head)

(4)  Gungan Energy Ball Staff

Then after it dried, I painted the entire figure red, 4 separate coats of paint, on each application I used some dull coat spray.  Then, a wash with maroon, black and yellow paint.  And finally a dry brush with yellow.  I thought at his point I might be done, but I found the Princess Leia Collection Bespin gown thing, and decided to spray paint it blue.

(5)  Princess Leia Collection Bespin Gown

After it dried, I put it on and took a couple pics... it looks a lot better in person I think, but not as good as what I had hoped.  I'm sure Ackbar would go home with her though.

I actually chopped up my only Meena Tills for this, so I hope I can get another one.

Man, that looks awesome CHEWIE.  It's cool that you did the after-the-opera version of her.

What you guys need now is a LARGE clear beach ball to create the scene.  ;)

These are kicking some major butt.

Glassman,

Excellent job on the animation style. It's the cardbacks that make these pop IMO. I am a die hard opener, but those cards and customs are kewl. That Shock Trooper looks mean ( and I like mean looks  >:( )

Thanks Chew. Greg and Fister.

Well fister, I'm and opener too, but I love a carded custom figure. It takes it that one step further.

That being said. I Carded these. I took the easy way out and used existing cards and just spraymounted the back and did the insert.

Well, I hope to find another Meena Tills.  If not, I'll overpay online I guess.   :-\

Thanks for the compliments.

Those look GREAT glassman.  How you were able to get CLEAN images of the EPIII clone troopers is very very impressive.  They look STOCK, well done!

One question i have is that you mentioned you "spraymount" yours. . .im curious as to what that means?  Obviously a spray of somesort (im not a complete blockhead lol) but i use labelsheets (stickers) for my cardbacks and always assumed you did too, but any info you could divulge i'd love to hear!
