Owen, your work (on everything) is amazing, but this takes the cake.  About how many hours did you spend on that bridge?

Whoa!! That it just freaking amazing!! That is easily the best SW diorama I have ever seen. Incredible work Owen. I don't see how you can part with something like that, I would have such a hard time doing so. Does it come apart in sections are is it permanently attached? Is there any chance you might consider molding it? I would say that about $40 of silicone should be enough. Once again, Owen that is one heck of a diorama.

Thanks for the info...just for fun you should photograph it from the end (behind IG-88) with two differnt set ups of figures.  Than you can flop one half in Photoshop and put them togehter to make one big bridge photo.  That's what Lucas does!

Check out www.owenscustoms.com at the link that says "My Bloody Foot" - he had a bloody accident not too long ago.

I don't know if he'll be able to make molds of any of that - I am pretty sure it's already been shipped... and I kind of think if he did, he would deserve well over $40.00 for it.  And I'd never make bootleg copies of the work he's made for me.

When I get this, I'll be sure to take some extra pics of it too, and will do a flip pic to make one large bridge in a photonovel down the road.

Great work as always Owen.

I was referring to the silicone cost to make a mold of something like that, not what I think he deserves for his work. What ever you paid for it, it was worth every penny for sure!

Gotcha.  I have no idea how that stuff works... I've looked at it online some, but still don't think it would ever be something I would have the courage to try.

If anyone really, truly wants something like this, you really should contact Owen... think of all the figures you buy, the extra junk you really don't need, the pizza, beer, porn (you sickos), etc.  Something like this is well worth every penny.   :)

Kevin

The foots good, I was actually working on this when I did that.  I must have hit a nerve cause I've had a numb area on the top of my foot since it happened but it seems to be getting smaller and smaller with each week.

Thanks again everybody.  As to molds, I'm certain that making one would be far too problematic and costly.  There could be products that I'm unaware of, but to do a mold with RTV rubber would probably be over 200$.  I'm not sure if this is the silicone you're thinking of MasterYogurt or not.

STAR DESTROYER BRIDGE PLAYSET!
« Reply #26 on: October 21, 2005, 12:31 AM »

Ok, this might belong in the customs section, but every once in a while a custom comes along that is just too good to not show here... something that would be wonderful if Hasbro were to make.

Another year goes by... and another severe lack of good playsets for us to display our figures in. But what if SAGA surprised us with something like this custom playset? How much would you be willing to pay if TRU carried it?

This particular one was made by www.owenscustoms.com, who I commissioned to make it for me, along with dozens of other playsets and vehicles the past year and a half.

Just wondering what kind of interest there would be in something like this... I know we get people wanting to get an AT-TE or something, but then they say they'd only pay $30.00... well, if you're gonna be that tight, keep dreaming and quit complaining.

Thoughts on this, or similar sized playsets?

That's amazing.  I don't know Hasbro could do something like that.  You'd think they could talk someone into taking a playset as an exclusive, something big and sure to generate traffic.

I don't buy Hasbro's playsets, because they are all crappy (in my opinion) and unrealistic. However I would definitely buy this, because its realistic and to-scale more or less. That is something I'd love to have in my collection. If Hasbro was to make this, they would probably stick a huge, ugly firing turbolaser right in the middle of the set, or some sort of "force power" crane.

The Executor bridge doesn't need any of that. It doesn't need any more that what Owen put into it. Its perfect.
