The Black Series 3.75" / Re: 2013 Disney Star Tours Box Sets

Last I heard there were tons of starspeeders.

Hmm, good to know but I've yet to see this at any of the shops here so far. Maybe they only sell this at Hollywood studios park?

I did find the 2 star tours sets today at a shop in animal kingdom. I got the last set with the sky trooper.

My stuff's just hidden in a secret place.  My special place.

That's what she said...

I just wanna know who hauls away all the harpooned fence zombies.  Or do they melt?

Just burn them! Don't even need to waste gas, propane, kerosene work fine. Not like they're gonna burn the fence down.

Walgreen's has the Halloween cereals too, $3 a box.

Were fruit brute and yummy mummy really classic cereals? I NEVER heard of those before this year. They both seem pretty close to frankenberry.

Chocolate Cheerios, while an abomination against nature, taste pretty good.

So the one 3 3/4" item they release is one that forces you to buy 4 figures you already have to one new figure?

I THINK THAT SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT THEIR FLAWED BUSINESS MODEL.

Really, they should've had one scale. Even if that scale had been 6" and I'd never bought a damned thing, then at least the 6" fans might have gotten closer to getting all the characters they wanted.

100% agree. Better not jump into a line at all than dip your toes in and back out after one freaking wave. The second movie isn't even out yet! You can't hinge your commitment to a line on just one  wave. Maybe they should call the peeps over at super 7 and get some tips on how to run this thing with an alternative business model. I have to believe the interest is out there, you just have to be creative about engaging the consumer.

I was able to confirm that these are on sale for 9.99 @ walgreen's, but you have o have their discount card or whatever, which I do. Unfortunately though, there are no more riot zombies to be had anywhere around here.  :(

Am I wasting my time looking for a star speeder down here? I haven't seen the star tours sets yet but they had two sets of crappy SW figurines. Non-articulated stuff...easy pass.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series - 2013 Wave 1
« on: October 18, 2013, 08:46 PM »
Yep, all good points, I'm noticing the same thing around here too. I think another concern is hasbro's tendency to overproduce the first wave of any new line. Plus these have been out for months now. Wave 2 Should have followed closer behind. Neca and mcfarlane seem to get this, I rarely see their stuff peg warming. Hasbro is still behind the learning curve on this, you can't run a 6" line like 3&3/4"line.

I can't say I really care all that much though, I like the line but don't feel as personally invested in it the way I did with the clone wars line. It's not going to bum me out if they mismanage this into the ground too.

The 5-pack is up on TRU.com but my stores got nothing new this week. I find it hard to blame BD for the first wave not selling better. They were great figures and decent figure choices IMO. The thing that really hurt them was not having Target and Walmart behind them.

They gotta release the stuff they have already shown though. (Radaghast, etc)

And this line just seems silly without Smaug and the rest of the dwarves, not to mention beorn, the bard, etc.

Nothing new at my TRU yesterday. I think they might have gotten a truck overnight so will try again today at lunch.

I think the copter from the first episode was more of a Blackhawk style assault helicopter and the one on the roof was an older, army-green Huey. IIRC.

I think "intelligent zombies" is a non-starter and they really need to stay away from that. It mutes the whole aspect of the threat, and has IMHO never been done well in any of the zombies stories that predate this one. (Please no "Bub" redux...)

I kinda thought that was the point of Rick's talk with Hershel... Rick was wondering if "you can come back" and Herschel tells him, 'your son came back, you came back'.  I though that was them telling us that Rick was healed/healing from the tragedy of Lori's death, but I guess I can see how people read that as Rick still worried because he is still hallucinating things (camping lady).

That is an interesting take for sure, I interpreted that as more of a spiritual/ethical type comeback than a mental one. Like "how can you reconcile the horrible things you have had to do to survive with your personal sense of morality?" That was kind of the thrust of their conversation, they had both done bad things but Rick was still willing to reach out and help a stranger whereas she couldn't make that leap and had crossed over to pure survival mode.

I hate to bring the comic into it, but my recollection is that crazy Rick was just a phase there too and he eventually stopped walking around with that telephone and got with the program again.

Don't know the celeb but Gimple was very forthcoming about the upcoming season without spoiling things much.

Nathan Fillion. Firefly? Lost? Castle? He is a nerd celeb god, right up there with Bruce Campbell. Awesome dude.

I guess it could be argued that Crazy Clara was not real, but it doesn't fit the storyline IMO. Crazy Rick is gone. That was symbolized by the whole metaphor with Lori not appearing at the end of last season when they brought the new people in. The idea I think is that he is being slowly healed by a spirit of community. I don't see how it serves to move the plot forward if he starts going nuts again.

I think it's more likely she was real and had simply survived by virtue of having a "pet" around like Michonne did. And I don't think Rick took anything because what did she have of value? That knife? I'm sure that tent and those sleeping bags reeked of stank. They could easily get all that stuff from Big Lots anyway.

Someone should be working on digging some tunnels out of that place too. Just to be prepared.

I am headed out to TRU at lunch today as well, fingers crossed.

Last week I picked up the Dwalin/Balin 2-pack off eBay, so the only thing I need now is the Invisible Bilbo SDCC exclusive.

Were there any new pics circulating out of NYCC?

That's weird...I had heard about the $9.99 sale too, but I haven't seen any signage to that effect around here. I guess I need to price scan them to confirm. I would love some more riot zombies.
