I actually caved today when I saw Galadriel Entranced.  One impulse buy for the day.

It was there.  Check out EE's listing for wave 3 of the Deluxe figures.  You can see pics there.

I saw the Pellenor Fields set the other night.  Very nice set, definitely.  Probably one of the best box sets of the bunch.  I'll pick it up in a few weeks.  I'm not in much of a rush for LOTR lately.

Is it silly for me to say that I'd like to see the movie first?  Anyway, here are 10 assorted characters that I'd like to see beyond #57:

- Merumeru - Wookiee Elder
- Shocktrooper
- V-Wing Pilot
- Emporer Palpatine - SA, Senate Chamber Duel
- Padme Amidala - bun hairdo
- Cin Drallig - Jedi Swordmaster
- Commander Neyo
- 2-1B Droid
- Utai Beast Wrangler
- Po Nudo - Aqualish Seperatist

I don't think army building makes anyone a bad person.  I'm an army builder, and I can empathize with the sentiment.  As long as you're leaving something behind (provided there's more than 1 or 2 of a given figure), then I think army building is fine.  When someone goes into a store and buys EVERY army builder and it's just an unreasonable number of figures relative to what's in stock in that store, then I think that coule be considered hoarding.

Other Toy Lines / Re: McFarlane Sportspicks

Wow, I actually bought some Sports Picks the other day.  Nabbed a Piazza chase and a Rangers Soriano.  But my interest is waning, since I just offered them up right away to a friend of mine who's more hardcore about Sports Picks than I am.

I finally bought a green Hulk last night.  It was late, I went to WalMart, and there was a case of ML9 just sitting there.  The kind lady with the mustache in the toy department was very obliging and opened it up for me.  And you know what?  I left the Bullseye.  I just cannot care about that figure.

Gentle Giant / Re: Gentle Giant Busts

Well, going through the comic shop is a pre-order.  They're basically acting as a go-between for me with Diamond Comics.  I ordered mine already.  Thing is, to order these through your comic shop AND to ensure that you get both versions of the Sandtrooper, you've got to hope that they're ordering a minimum of one case.  The reason being that Diamond will not make certain that you get both versions of the Sandtrooper if you only order two.  If you do that, you're taking a chance that you'll get both versions since Diamond will not differentiate between the Squad Leader and the Sergeant.  The only way to make sure you get both is in the event that your comic shop orders an entire case.  If your comic shop orders the whole case, they'll receive a total of 3 Squad Leaders and 3 Sergeants.  What a pain!

Now I'm waiting for Bust Ups series 4 to go up for pre-order.  I can only imagine what the rush is going to be like when the new versions of Darth Vader and Yoda go up for pre-order.  Those could have the largest edition sizes since the Deluxe Stormtrooper.  That one clocked in at 10,000 pieces.

Also direct from Gentle Giant themselves.  Click here to go there

Frustratingly, no information on the edition size for Han or the two Sandtroopers.  Maybe one of the staff can tweak the good folks over there for that information.  Or should I just haul out my press badge and ask :P

There won't be any news on the edition sizes of those for a while.  These items have only been listed through Diamond for a few weeks, so most likely Gentle Giant hasn't determined the edition size yet.  They base the edition sizes on the orders.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Jedi After Episode 3?
« on: May 11, 2005, 08:45 PM »
The Dark Woman is another Jedi who goes into hiding.  Her fate is covered in an issue of STAR WARS TALES.  Darth Vader hunts her down and kills her in one issue.

Had to see this coming.  As long as the price point stays at roughly $10 a pop, I can live with this.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Target Exclusive Clone Trooper
« on: May 11, 2005, 08:05 PM »
Jeff makes very valid points.   Start with and exclusive figure, add in the clamshell and then add in the whole army building culture that's pervasive in the collecting community and it's no wonder that the Target exclusive Clone Trooper has been so hot.  We only have ourselves to blame for the situation, I think.  It was only a matter of time before both Hasbro and an exclusive retailer decided that the army builders were ripe for the picking.

So, I wonder if the V-Wing actually appears anywhere?

Yes.  They escort the Theta class shuttle from Mustafar to Coruscant.  And as previously noted, you can see them in the full length trailer.
