I've been talking so much trash about Sandtroopers this year, after seeing them littering the pegs, and then I went ahead and ordered three of the new one online. I'm such a whore.

Really?!?!  They're BOGO at TRU this week!

I've always been surprised that they never did the Lars family speeder.  It's aggressive looking, small, and would be easy to hide some sort of missile feature in.  That's my vote.

I can just see them trying to pitch that.  "NOW WITH C-3PO HIDING BEHIND IT ACTION FEATURE!"

You know, it just occurred to me, that Lego is supporting the Clone Wars, and has some more new sets this winter.  If Lego's able to make money off the show, why can't Hasbro?

I think there's a key difference between the two licenses.  Hasbro has spread things out so much across multiple lines that it seems to be dilluting interest.  Especially when you see collectors saying "I'll collect the Vintage line and new figures from Movie Heroes, but no Clone Wars", or collectors who are doing OT only, etc.

The LEGO collection really hasn't been subdivided so much.  It's all under one packaging banner.  And LEGO fans tend to be pretty loyal.

Some novelties:

Savage Opress can kill with his horns, like a bull from Corrida (bullfighting)

The animated debut of Blue snaggletooh, path the way for the CW action figure.

The horned sith donīt have a defense or block against low side kick  :D  (kansetsu-geri),

so Obi Wan could target their knee caps. Wish Kenobi shares his strategy with Anakin before they
will face duo versus duo.

I actually liked the bit with Obi-Wan targetting Savage Opress's knees.  It showed him to be a more experienced and smarter combatant,  and that sort of plot point is also something that is reminiscent of video gaming:  finding that one weakness in an opponent and exploiting it.

I was interested to see the conference between the Jedi and Palpatine at the end of the episode.  That was clearly foreshadowing of what's likely to be a confrontation between Darth Sidious and Darth Maul.  And on that front I'm really interested to see what happens.  How will the Sith Master regard his former Apprentice?

Hmmm.  I've yet to open up my Republic Drop Ship.  I've seen that frozen joint issue happen before, too.  But I could count on one hand the number of figures that it's happened with for me.  Considering the thousands of figures I've bought and opened, I think those are pretty good odds.  But it definitely sucks when it's a figure like the Republic Attack Drop Ship Pilot, which is just as scarce as the ship itself.

Interesting stuff in the Ask Dave videos.  The Twilight bit is cool.

And he did make a point of talking about Rex and Ahsoka.  Eventually there's going to be some sort of turning points for both characters.  But he seemed to be focusing more on how their characters are continuing to evolve.  At some point I think the audience is going to need something to happen to these characters.  Filoni & company should take note in something JJ Abrams recently said about the series Lost.  That being that Lost took too long to get some major plot elements established, and that he and his show running team learned that you can only keep the audience hanging for so long.  The Clone Wars audience knows that something is going to happen to Ahsoka, and likely to Rex as well.  You can only keep stringing them along for so long.

A Deluxe Hulk & Banner 2-pack would've been great.  Of course, had they done that when the movie first opened, it probably would have sold better.  They also passed on doing Cap in the modern uniform without his mask/helmet.  That version would've worked for both the Helicarrier battle and the street fighting in NYC.  But the maskless variant that came out was in the WWII era uniform.

And I definitely would've liked figures of both Maria Hill and Phil Coulson.  But I have to admit, even if you gave Coulson the Destroyer gun, a white dude in a black suit probably would've been a tough sell.

Is anyone finding these guys still?

I haven't seen them once, and I've been checking every K-Mart I can think of.

Found a Dropship this morning at K-Mart.  These are going to be tough to track down with only one per case.

It looks like another Captain America was planned for the line, but pulled.  I found a couple of Chitauri basic figures with blackout stickers on the back of the card.  I bought one of them and peeled back the sticker to find Avengers figure #19, which is another version of Cap.  I'll take a picture of it soon and post it.

I found 2 at a single store, and I haven't seen them since.  I'm glad I picked up both!

I am in no way, shape or form a Packers fan.  But the officiating situation is beginning to make people question the legitimacy of the game.  That should really get Roger Goodell and the owners concerned in a big way.  The NFL is such big business that they need to nip this in the bud, and quickly.

I saw a lone Nick Fury today, and I passed on him.  The paint apps on his single eye were like something out of Toyfare magazine's Twisted Mego Theater!  There was no way I was buying that one, so I passed on it.  But I really should have taken a photo.  It was just THAT BAD.

I wound up returning 2 of my 3 Deluxe Chitauri.  Especially after seeing the difference in price between TRU and Target.  I really want to like both the Deluxe and Basic Chitauri figures.  You NEED villains for your heroes to beat the hell out of.  But these figures really do suck.  The lack of elbow articulation alone is terrible.  And the knees are almost as bad.

The big missed opportunity in the line?  A bigger version of Hulk for the Deluxe figure line.  If the movie proved anything, it was the love for the Hulk, and he wound up being one of the hottest figures in the line for the first few months of the line.  Hasbro dropped the ball on this one.  But it does beg the question about whether or not the people at Hasbro are seeing early cuts of the film that might help steer the direction of the figure line.

I wouldn't have thought it would have been too much to ask for an unhelmeted Chitauri warrior in this line, but I guess so.

I think a no-helmet Chitauri may be as likely as a properly scaled Hulk. And on that front, I'm much more disappointed about the Hulk.
