Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Survival Guide for Taking a Dump at Work...

I think the first time I heard it was on the Stern show, and even he didn't know what it was, so don't feel bad.  I guess we're just not supposed to know these things yet somehow we find them out...

I've actually had a gay man (I'm assuming as I was in a gay men's club) do this to me.
He told me if he was straight he would play with them all day.
I didn't slap him.
I probably should have.
I was probably drunk though.

What an excellent plan!  Go to a bar.  Pretend to be gay.  And play with boobies all night!!

Whoa, slow down...  I gotta find wordpad.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: When will the ROTS clearances start?
« on: January 26, 2006, 01:17 AM »
My experience has been that TRU is strict on when you return...  Target, I just haven't returned much to them but I did return a rather old 500th Vader I did as an "exchange"  to get a mint item...  I didn't get hastled returning the figure though.

Wal-Mart I've found I can return stuff any time and so long as I have a receipt I'm gold...  If you don't have a receipt you get store credit which is fine by me even, but it was always full credit.  I tend not to be too late returning stuff though so I dunno.

Toy Reviews / Re: New TSC Review - AT-AT Driver
« on: January 26, 2006, 01:12 AM »
Definitely a good thorough review Ruiner...  I liked it a lot, and you caught a lot of the qualities with this figure.

Something I think I'd note is that I Like that this figure doesn't blow the POTF2 AT-AT Driver so far out of the water that they don't display well togehter.  Unfortunately the OTC TIE Pilot sort of did that to the POTF2 sculpt...  They don't look quite as nice together, but the AT-AT Driver not so much and I see that as a major positive for this figure that the TIE Pilot didn't have.

It's ironic that the AT-AT Driver, who you saw much less of ever in the films, gets more articulation than the TIE Pilot.  I sorta feel cheated on the TIE Pilot now.  He should have those arms for his articulation, no doubt in my mind now.

For me, that articulation on the AT-AT Driver should be Hasbro's minimum standard for 90% of their figures...  Not for figs like Ask Aak, Mon Mothma, or Bib Fortuna...  But for everyone else, yes.  They shoudl then save super articulation for most troopers (AT-AT Drivers aside) like Hoth Rebels, Imperial Snow, Storm, or Scout Troopers, Fleet Troopers, etc...  But for Cantina aliens, Jedi (say a Mace Windu resculpt), or other similar figures, I'd think THAT should be the minimum 12 points of articulation just as the AT-AT Driver has them....  It's a compromise.  And of course "Senator-esque" figures and a select few others get less...  Like maybe a Beru and Owen AOTC/ROTS figures would get less than that 12 point standard, but really any character with action should have that minimum.

It kinda sucks that we have an AT-AT Driver that is better than any Rebel Soldier figure to-date, better than the TIE Pilot, better than any Imperial Officer figure, better than any Rebel Pilot...  When you think about it in those terms, you really start to think of what Hasbro ISN'T doing right with the line if you ask me.

Toy Reviews / Re: New JD Review: Evolutions Anakin To Vader

I liked it actually.  It wasn't the best of the set by any means though but I thought it was better than most of the AOTC Ani heads we've seen thus far so I was "content".  It's the definitive version of him IMO.  I'd dig it if they re-released him with a ROTS head, and headgear, for a Pilot Ani...  That'd be sweet.  Hell I'd buy a re-release with the AOTC head, who am I kidding? :)

Newbies / Re: Introducing my friend...... Darth Nuch
« on: January 26, 2006, 01:02 AM »
Hey Darth Nuch, welcome aboard of course.

I merged your new thread you started with the older one that your buddy Darth Nirvana started for you.  Saves a duplicate thread basically introducing yourself is all and keeps it to one thread...

Basically if you have any questions you can feel free to ask them here...  Stuff's pretty simple though.

You read topics in various sections of our forum and decide if you've got something to contribute...  If you do, hit reply, type out a response, and join in the conversation.  Nothing to it...

Again though if you have something you want to ask feel free to ask it in this thread and I'm sure someone (either staff or some of our forum members) will answer for you.

I'mt hinking the one "gun turret" bit is just that.  You can see some of the tracks and that REALLY looks like the turret's barrels...

Definitely the one is the Y-Wing's rear fuselage...

The one that looks like an exhaust port COULD be that I guess, but it's not the general shape as I recall.  It could just be another part of the Death STar...  It alomst looks like a small fueling port on a ship though, so I dunno, that's weird.  That middle gun turret picture though looks just like that, a gun turret.

I think Anton's post was meant to bump and see if anyone got the individually carded ones.

I thought either Scott or JediMAC did...  Someone did.

They'd be up there in rarity I would think...  Carded rarity anyway.  They were clearanced at K-Mart but sold steadily well at first.

I'm not a carded guy so I'm sure I don't consider these like the Eopie...  If I were a die-hard carded completist though, I would be SOL on these ones.  I don't think their paint differences were big though if there were any at all, so I'm glad they got released in OTC packaging to K-Mart of all freaking places.  Plus it was great to get them at a store that actually is abundant in my area and close for once...  :)  It's hell having to drive 45 minutes just to get to one Target.

Everyone who posted a wrong rumor should be strung up by the tip of their dick and slapped with sacks of rocks.

Or at least people should make fun of them in the forums for a little while and make them eat some crow publicly.

I'm hoping for foil cards...  No silver figures or whatnot.  Just goofy packaging to rip apart and get my "I'm an ego maniac" Lucas figure. :)  It'll go great with my  "My family is an ego maniac" 4-pack!

I'm to the point that if they made the U-Piece of the bar I'd be fairly content...  A drink dispenser would be icing on the cake...

The bar itself, I dunno.  The cardboard sets are cool but I probably would never be happy with a plastic counterpart unless it really was made to be "built" upon by someone.  Like Hasbro built it wiht the intention that people would build the rest of the Cantina around it...

Now little sections of the Cantina that include a booth, or the U-bar piece, or the dispenser, or a table w/chairs...  That'd be cool.  It'd be basically supplying you with the detail parts, and if you want the building you just build it yourself.  That'd be a great helping hand I think.

I really wish a new A-Wing Pilot would come out and that they'd then re-issue the A-WIng fighter using this new sculpt pilot and perhaps a new head.  I awnt a Blue McQuarrie A-Wing though...  That's one I'd gladly buy up multiples of once more.

I have 4 greens and over 6 red ones.  I love the A-Wing.

I'd take a repaint of the EU Airspeeder as well.  It was concept art that got adapted for the RPG's...  I don't expect to see it ever released again, but if it were I'd dig seeing it with a new paintjob, maybe something spiffy and colorful or camo'd...  Just something unique and new, not from the films.

And if we're including beasts, I'd be all for a Bantha with a new rider and a Dewback with a new Sandtrooper...

Saga Collection '06 / Re: SAGA2 HOF waves?
« on: January 25, 2006, 05:10 AM »
I'm not sure about everything listed but I'd be for most of it...

The question is, would they?  Evolutions and VOTC figures SHOULD be re-released...  I'm not sure what they told Colman at C3, I can't remember, so Scott may be right however at the same time the VOTC Vader appears to be making an appearance, as does R2-D2, so if either of those is re-used I think there's a chance any other could be...

The irony is, the mold is most of the battle...  Once it's produced, it's a fixed cost that can only diminish over units produced and sold, so it's theoretically in Hasbro's best interests to use these sculpts, and there's no real precedent that says they won't (Obi-Wan Pilot re-issue for instance), yet at the same time there's no precedent showing that they'll use these better overall sculpts/action figures again either.  They're all over the board with this.

It's like the two pilot Jedi re-issued at some point...  On one hand you get SA Obi-Wan Pilot with a cloth cloak (yay), and on the other hand you get the 1st duel Anakin re-issued with a cloth cloak (WTF?), and it makes no sense to me...  Why not re-issue the Evolutions Anakin with a cloth cloak instead?  It'd sit in a fighter, it'd complement the Obi-Wan, and god knows the Evolutions sets were hardly easy to find.

I'd be for VOTC and Evolution reissues...  I don't care that I paid $10 for them initially.  I'd gladly buy more of them for $5 most likely.  I know I won't be buying these older, and/or inferior sculpts of figures though.  I just can't afford it or justify it.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Bonus Mini Hologram Figures
« on: January 25, 2006, 05:01 AM »
I've been doing a little writing on the first wave recently and the holo's really have me thinking...  Imagine what costs went into producing ALL these little figures.  Each one requiring a mold...  That's a hefty cost.  Same applies but to a smaller degree, for the stands.

I don't know what people think of these holo's...  For me, I really could care less about them.  If they were more neutral in nature, and thus maybe more useful as an accessory to the figure (neutral Vader for Veers, etc.) then maybe I'd be more into these but for me they're just kind of lame and costly.  These really could either be partly to blame for the price increases or partly to blame for seemingly quality/cost decreases to the figures themselves...  That worries me a little since I really think figures shouldn't need stands in the first place, and the holo's are just so disinteresting to me.

BTW holographic mini-fleet trooper sucks.

But yeah, I just don't know what to make of these...  They're costing something, and I'd really have sooner seen that put into the action figure.  If these things are why Han doesn't have poseable knees...  Well that sucks balls, to put it bluntly.

I think it's a sign of the times when the repacks, packed 1 per figure, go first and the new figures sit longer.

Even in OTC when it first started shipping, the repacks still sat and new figures were the hot ones.  Now all of a sudden nobody cares about the new figures while the repacks are gobbled up...  It stinks of people reselling them I'm afraid.  That's just my observation though.

I can't even find Fett's for the kids.  It's downright frustrating.

I found the 3 new Carkoon figures one at a time...  Eventually though I saw that they really sat to some extent while you couldn't find a Chewbacca in chains to save your life.  It's almost comical really. :)  But yeah, Hasbro's supposedly making this line and these repacks for kids...  This is what's here to keep the peopel from ROTS who got into it because of that film and aren't die-hard collectors right?  Wellllllll, I'm thinking that's more a load of **** with every passing week.

JD Sports Forum! / Re: NHL 2005-2006 Thread
« on: January 25, 2006, 03:46 AM »
I didn't get to see reports till tonight's news...  Saw Lemieux's press conference and it was beyond sad.  He sorta was crying towards the end...  I think it hurt him greatly.

Bill Cowher took some time out of his press conference today to address Lemieux's retirement and show respect for what he's done for not only Pittsburgh but what Lemieux did for the sport of Hockey.  He's a MAJOR reason the NHL is a better entity today than it was 1 or 2 years ago.

Paul Steigerwald (Radio guy, used to do color commentary for TV on the Pens) said today that the best thing he'd like to see is the new arena built, and right in front a large statue honoring Mario Lemieux and his contributions to hockey and Pittsburgh.

Lemieux is every reason I ever picked up a stick and played the game.  I've been through his retirement once before so maybe it didn't hit me quite as hard this time.  The first time I was almost devastated though inside...  It was watching an icon step down, a driving force in my motivation steppping aside...  This time it's still the same but I think it's the right call.  His heart problem's scary for him and he has a wife and kids to think of...  He's able to compete, he proved that at the beginning of the season...  He's as good as he ever was, he's a dominant player when he's healthy, but he just can't trust his body to hold out for himself and peace of mind.  You have to respect anyone who did what he did...  If he'd been healthy throughout his career with only the "regular" health problems plaguing him, I have no doubt in my mind Lemieux would have been the record holder Gretzky is.  I'll miss him, but at the same time I know Mario Lemieux will still be a major part of hockey in the city of Pittsburgh, and just a major part of the city of Pittsburgh overall.  I hope the city renames one of our more prominent landmarks for him as they did with Clemente.  He's certainly earned that I believe.

I hope he has a good golf game his first day out on the links during retirement. :)
