If that picture holds true to the retail release, that Obi's definitely the Pilot figure mostly...  I can tell by the left arm's thinness at the top, the left hand's weird look due to the magnet in it, the skirt-piece, the legs...  The head's the only mystery now.

That Mace's head, to me, looks like the Deluxe AOTC Mace Windu w/Battledroid if I had to put a name to it.  It's the only Mace with teeth showing I can think of that isn't open-jawed.

From a customizer's POV, not all current astromech molds are compatible...  How does that translate into potential GOOD news for us?

Well, the R3-T7 dome, I don't THINK, is compatible with say the Naboo R2 body...  However the mold for the Star Tours R3 exists and wasn't terribly different than the Naboo R2 body (if not identical) so they have a stationary R3...

To me ideal would be, even though I dislike the wheels, the R4 from the Preview Wave for ROTS.  I'd dig seeing it, as the way the leg drops but the dome still moves completely without the feature hindering it makes it ideal.  The little wheels are a bit silly to me, but the figure has the best overall sculpt for an astromech.  The back-up incase the R3 dome isn't compatible (I doubt it would be) is R3-T7's highly articulated body for the R3 droids.

I'm surprised no R4 ("Real" R4's, like M9 and stuff) aren't on that list if I recall...  That'd have been cool.

The brief synopsis of the Q&A has me calmed down a bit and a little less annoyed with the repacks of before.  Those 3 resculpts look very very good and so does the new packaging.

I'm back to guarded optimism.

I'm right there with you Rob...  It's amazing what 3 impressive looking 3 new figures can do for the old outlook.  Plus there's always encouragement that Hasbro's going to go the extra mile to get Clones out...  albeit long after the film's been in any limelight, but they may still be putting forth the effort for us.

Here's the Clones from SDCC...  Jared went nuts taking great pictures.  Really great quality work from Jared and Matt out there, so browse the San Diego Comic Con coverage on our front page for more shots (I love that Sandtrooper figure).



The Evolutions sets were found around Pittsburgh for $17.95 I believe, so prices may vary depending where you nab stuff.  I found the battlepacks, but no Evo's out in my area...  Looked like someone had hit the local KM before me actually so perhaps I just missed 'em.

I think $20's reasonable...  Not the best price, but not the worst either by far.  Condensing 3 figures into a relatively standardized package SHOULD come at a price decrease, and from VOTC to Evolutions we've seen that.  Lots of accessories helps these sets too, as an increase in value... 

BTW, that improved Sandtrooper heavy rifle just ain't gettin' enough love.  It's a minor detail, but man I love that thing.  Complete with the different color leather sling.  Nice.

I found these same figures at TRU, I guess they're the same anyway.  Nabbed the last Uruk Hai for my brother...  Couldn't tell if the Aragorn was a new figure, so I got him too...  Gandalf I picked up as well, and Aged Theoden.

Nice figures but I think I'm gonna sell my collection off to my bro...  No space anymore.  And trolls just fill shelves way too much.

Like the Target Clone before I'd dig a little squad but nothing major.  Price wasn't discussed it seems?  I'd have brought that up myself.

I like the paintjob...  It looks like an urban combat unit, or night-ops...  That's a legit looking camo pattern to me though, very modern-military.  I dig it...  A lot really. 

Price will be the ultimate kick then...  With availability a close 2nd.  I'd like a 5 man team though...  That'd be nice.

Wow, lotsa speculation...

I gotta disagree in that I would NOT be happy with a re-release of the Saga Snowtrooper.  That figure wasn't much of an evolutionary step forwards over his POTF2 counterpart.  The sculpt was slightly more crisp, and he did have a holster, but his articulation they added was pretty much useless, and he had a wonky pose.  He's a rough looking army builder, most noticeable when there's 2 of him together.  They just don't look right...  Not to mention he does sport the officer's bars too, which are small details but still one more thing making him less than ideal army builder fodder.

I'm of the opinion that anything in Imperial/Clone armor should be done a-new with the super articulation treatment.  Snowtroopers and Scout Troopers are on top of that list for me though, as a classic film fan (plus repaints of prequal Clones are easily doable for both sculpts), but also because I think that both those "characters" have gotten the shaft.

The POTJ Scout simply blows...  His goofy pose, his lacking articulation, his pinhead...  He blows.  And the Snowtrooper's POTF2 incarnation is at least neutrally sculpted, but he and the Saga figure are both sub-par.

I'm not expecting it, but my ideal Hoth wave (if they're only in 3's) would be:

-Major Derlin (Toryn Farr a close runner-up though)

-Super Articulated Hoth Rebel...  Like the Snowtrooper, the Rebel figures have all sucked terribly.  The only one close to ok has been the Deluxe one and he's weak these days.  Gimme an all-new figure here, tons of articulation, proper scale, softgoods scarf...  I'd dig it.

-Super Articulated Snowtrooper...  Softgoods mask and skirt.  I'd be broke if this guy came out.  I'd have to live off raimen noodle soup just to afford my army.

Others I'd like...  Veers w/removable armor, hat, helmet, and belt.  Torryn Farr (like mentioned).  NEW Hoth Han Solo (good articulation and pose, removable hood/hat).  Brown Vested Rebel Officer (Vintage resculpt).  Snowspeeder Luke.  Snowspeeder Wedge.  Snowspeeder Dak.  Snowspeeder Hobbie.  Snowspeeder Zev.  (Hell, do one figure, then just do a pack of the Snowspeeder pilots called the Rogue Squadron Battle Pack )

Figures I know I DON'T want though?

Hoth Vader, Hoth Chewie, Probot, an astromech (with the EE packs, I'm ok on these for a while), or a repackage of any of the figures I listed that I do want.
