Hooters wasn't that bad... I just wish they had more than regular beer....

No kidding!  Is that a state law or something?  All I wanted was some a lot of rye or vodka.   :'(

They don't serve booze here either J2, so not sure what other states are like, but that's PA's deal.  Hooters isn't technically a "bar" around here.  I think that's what it has to do with.  Bars get the liquor license and can sell booze but Hooters is a different establishment I guess, I dunno.

I'm not a fan of the place myself.  I like boobies though.  Food sorta blows there I think.  I'd rather bring a bag lunch and look at girl's chests then instead. :)

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: How big is your army?
« on: April 26, 2005, 06:16 PM »
My #6 clone army's going along nicely.

I hope you're able to get lotsa SA Clones Rob...  I'm worried on that, a lot, so I'm buying up #6's and I'll buy what SA's I can afford/find as well, but I have a nice 20-ish #6 army going.

Not one AT-TE Gunner or commander is to be found in my army yet.  I stress yet.  :)  I did get a lone clone Pilot yesterday though.  I can see his knee pin stressing though so I'm being careful with him.  His joints are incredibly stiff at the knees though, yikes!

Great figure though.  Too bad he didn't have a removable helmet though considering the open face and how great he'd look with translucent visor!  :)  A project for another day when Clones are abundant around here.

I wish I'd had similar good experiences Rob...  Most of the time I'm cool at Target.  It is a good store, but today was  just that time that I NEEDED help and was given the run-around a lot.

Plus Target's a rarity around here.  Only near malls and they're all spaced rather far apart.  Tough making a toy run like that.  :(

I got what I went for though, as they're due on my finals week.  Blech. :(

How can any of you keep anything over 100 conversations going in your PM box?  I get confused at like 20 or so different people talking to me.  100+ messages seems insane.

We could use a Capt. Obvious because Private Parts needs a commander, and Major Woody needs someone to boss around.

Enjoy your stay here...  Whenever you decide to pop in.

That's the problem with consoles though, which this game was really pushed for XB over most other systems.  The expansion pack idea would've fixed this without having the buyer necessarilly paying $50 or so for a "new" game.  But to market it to who its intended for they pushed a sequal...  Not that an expasnion would have necessarilly been cheap though, of course.

I'm wondering what the popularity of a second one will be.  If it'll really draw people in a lot or what.   :-\

The driver on mine's feet don't even actually rest on the "pedals" or whatever you wanna call it...  I put a red clone on then out of curiosity (from Saga) and he actually can ride it ok, and his feet touch.  I think if Hasbro did do a poseable rider for this, the key would be the new ball/socket hips.

I think it'd look pretty cool then, and his feet would be pretty good to reach the pedals...  At least as good as the pack-in does which has a little gap at each foot as it is.

I guess mine are on the way too...  Dude that got our cases said they are anyway.  That's good.  Now to think about where I'm gonna put any of this stuff.  I'm running out of room at the moment for figures.  I need more shelf space, STAT.

What a bunch of A-holes at Target...  My god.  One of my worst retail experiences with low-level employees I do believe.

So I took the # and called a couple "local" (I'm talking like 45 mins away though) Targets and at the first one I got a nice guy who was helpful.  Great.

Second Target I called the guy was like "We don't have that", I told him I have the DPCI # and asked if he could just check it.  He told me, "We don't carry that".  I told him to then just check the #, I know he's capable of it, and I didn't wanna make a 1 hour trip to his store for nothing.  He said, "OK, what is it", and I read it, and he just said, "Yeah, there's none of those here, goodbye".

So I went to the first Target...  After haggling with an employee about what it was, telling him there's none on the pegs and asking if he could go in the back (I used the, "The guy I talked to told me to make the trip down and someone could help me" line), the guy went in the back finally and brought one out.  At that point, another employee and the one who brought me the figure both started asking me, "is this valuable?" type questions.  I told them it isn't, and that if they make a lot it won't ever be...  It may have an initial "push" but that's it.  I tried to avoid any army builder potential topics or anything, and just get their minds off their wallets and to just not screw everyone in that Targets area.   ::)

So from there, I left with my one Clone (which the one guy I think didn't want to sell it to me because he I could see the steam coming from his ears as he thought about buying what he could and selling them).  I went down the highway then to the next Target to form a sorta triangle toyrun.  There's a highway from that one that'd run right back to my house (a 45 min drive from that Target to home though, and from the first Target to the next was easily 45 mins as well).  I get there, and this is the store that the ******bag told me "we don't have that", and low and behold they're in stock.  If I could've had that $5.15/hr yutz in front of me I'd have kicked him in the nuts at that point.

I asked a girl for help, she gave me the "We can't bring 'Collectibles' out for you" line.  I told her it's a toy, she said no.  I told her it's for my kid.  She said no.  I left.

On the way out I popped off at Customer Service to try them.  It worked and after much searching they found me one and brought it out.  What a fiasco though.

I like Target...  I like it more than Wal-Mart as far as stores go simply because it's always less "hectic" feeling, aisles are bigger, and it's a generally cleaner store (Some WM's are very clean/nice though).  That's important stuff to me.  If there's one constant in the retail universe though, it's that people from the ground up often just don't care.  I worked management for J.C. Penney's, and it's no different.  I guess that's the price you pay for "sales" and "price cuts" and the like.  Poor quality in service.  I will say some people were very nice today, but only 1/4 of the people I talked to were while easily the majority were rude and couldn't have acted more "bothered".

That's just my little retail rant.  Usually I give them the benefit of the doubt but today was frustrating trying to just get some simple help on something to save me some time.  Given how much I support Target over WM, they owed me more than what I got.

Needed to hang at that PSWCS booth for that it seemed, and even with that I think I only saw him twice there maybe?

PA guys were all over the place at the con though.  I ran into them at random throughout.  Not that I didn't want to, but I had a harder time running into the guys I'm gonna have a hard time seeing again (outta staters) while the PA guys I saw daily it seemed.  ::)  Oh the irony.

4 Vaders, 1 Plush Yoda (love that thing) and a MR FX Saber (E3 Anakin).

That was about it...  not counting free ****.  I did get 2 C3 posters too though.

Like the saber a lot, and Yoda.  Vader grew on me as a cooler toy than I thought with the base and all.

I'm glad to have this stuff...  The Yoda just is really neat considering everything.

My favorite purchase though is 3 signed McQuarrie Concept Art prints.  1 from each film, and each are either iconic ones (in my view) or ones that meant something to me.

The ANH one I got was the duel in the streets of Mos Eisley.  Love that shot, and I think it's a very popular image with fans of McQuarrie's work.

The ESB one was the rebel soldiers wounded or dead in the trench with the AT-AT walking over the trench and the Snowspeeder smoking as it flies along.  The picture's important to me since I have such a military-focus with this hobby.  It's one of the gritty, realistic war images of the trilogy.

The ROTJ one I got is the conceptual drawing of the B-Wings flying away from the exploding destroyer they strafed.  Very nice picture, very iconic, and again a devastating picture of the "War" in Star Wars.  The shot being one edited out (all 3 are actually filmed in one way or another, and edited out) is pretty neat too.

Glad he's ok too.  Bus rides blow, so hopefully he's just able to get home and not have much grief over this.

I wanted to also include Josh who I ran into twice...  Met him out the one night then ran into him organizing the VIP line for the Store in his X-Winger costume.  Sorry to not include ya Josh, considering we ran into each other twice even.
