6" Figures / Re: 2013 SDCC Exclusive 6" Fett w/Carbonite Block
« on: February 9, 2013, 05:47 PM »
I'm most likely down for this. I don't know if I'm going to buy all the 6 inch figs, but if I do I'll obviously want this set. Worst case scenario I'll buy it and sell it if I don't collect the 6 inch line.

Yeah, biggest vehicle I could see being done is Luke's Landspeeder. Watch them make the AOTC rickshaw droid and tick a bunch of people off.  :P

Yeah, new stock in old shelves... Iron Man 3 occupying Avengers space with old Avengers stuff, Spidey and Star Wars doing the same

Saw these at a Target today. They had Anakin, an AOTC Clone, Iron Man 3 Iron Man and an Ultimate Spider-Man from the new cartoon. They're all terrible and shouldn't even be given to starving children in Africa.

I keep hearing rumblings about the no Used Games thing and I can honestly see them going there, but it would fail miserably... like you guys already mentioned, Gamestop would go out of business (I personally hate that store, but it would hurt the economy), plus Redbox would be hurt by the no-rental thing.

Constant Internet connection bothers me too, as I have spotty service from time to time (Suddenlink - Making sure Buffering is still a thing in the year 2013!) and I have to reset the router and junk. Could get messy.

Star Wars Universe / Re: Star Wars Movie Spin-Offs?
« on: February 6, 2013, 06:45 AM »
Spin-off movies? Meh... Just thinking about it makes me shudder... imagine a Luke Skywalker movie set in his teens (like they wanted to do in the live action movie) starring Justin Bieber as Young Luke. :-X I'd maybe see a movie based on bounty hunters but otherwise big pass.

Now, direct to DVD animated movies ala what they do with the DC Universe? I've said they should do this for years, and I'd be all over it. How cool would animated versions of the Thrawn Trilogy or Shadows of the Empire be, as long as they're done using the same standards DC has?

Other Toy Lines / Re: LEGO
« on: February 6, 2013, 04:37 AM »
I snagged 5 Series 9 blind bags when I hit the LEGO Store last week... I just randomly grabbed some since I was carrying a lot (had an expiring coupon I wanted to use on some of the Star Wars and Hero sets) and the guy actually asked if I wanted him to feel them up for me. I said I didn't care since they were the first of the series I was buying and that I always feel weird feeling bags in the stores. He said I was the only one, as they get a high number of "feelers" every day. :P

Anyway, ended up with x2 Waiters, x2 Cyclops and a Knight... all cool figures. I was pumped for the Cyclope because I wanted a few of them, and I want even more now since they have dual printed heads. One side is a large open eye that takes up the entire "helmet" while the other is an angry looking eye. Good stuff, and they look like they match PERFECTLY with the new Gammorreans so I'm going to populate them inside the Jabba's Palace set once I get around to building it.

I wouldn't mind a few more Knights either to go up against the five or so evil Black Knights I've wound up with during clearances. And of course I gotta get the Chicken Suit guy to go with the other costumed weirdos.

I've also got another Series 9 coming in the mail, as I ordered that Minecraft set from LEGO's site last week, and added the fig to get a free City set... honestly not really sure why I got the Minecraft set since I've never played the game. Probably hit with the "EXCLUSIVE GOTTA GRAB IT" mentality :-\

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: TV Funny Man Dave Coulier...ALIVE!

I could have sworn I saw Dave Coulier make a guest appearance on last night's episode of How I Met Your Mother... or maybe it was one of those professional lookalike actors.

BTW I thought Palpatine asking for a shuttle was him just getting his ride to Mandalore, no?

But Sidious and Palpatine are two completely different people! :D

Yeah, good episode, but again, way too rushed. They could have spent an entire SEASON on the material from this arc and the other Mandalorian episodes. Satine's death was pretty sad, too, and I wouldn't have minded they have Obi-Wan just turn emo and depressed for the rest of the episode. If they had properly planned this arc out they could have even done a bonus episode with Anakin having to help him get his groove back or something.

LOVED Sidious kicking ass, and didn't mind his exaggerated powers one bit. I mean he's one of the most powerful guys in the galaxy, as strong or stronger than the best Jedi, Yoda, who lifts friggin' starfighters, so yeah, I can believe him easily tossing a few guys around.

And obviously Maul has to survive so he can attack Owen Lars and baby Luke. :D

In addition to solid articulation (I want the standard to be at least what the 2006 AT-AT Driver and Death Star Gunner figures have), I hope paint apps and plastic quality don't decline. The Class I vehicles I've seen so far are AWFUL in that regard, worse quality than the Indiana Jones line had. Hopefully that changes.

I've seen SO much of this crap since 30AC, when I used to never see it at all. But most of the time it's just figures ripped open with the damaged packaging left there, as can be seen in these pictures I snapped from last year:

And the sad part is that these opened packages stayed on the pegs for WEEKS.

And off the top of my head, I've seen the following swaps:

-- Target Exclusive Wedge w/ X-Wing: SA Wedge swapped with the POTF2 carrying case Wedge
-- 30AC Tantive IV Battle Pack: RFTs and Stormtroopers swapped with POTF2 Yavin Ceremony Lukes (I still have a pic of this on my old RAZR phone)
-- Legacy Obi-Wan's Hut Battle Pack: New Luke swapped with a POTF2 ANH Luke
-- Various Iron Man 2 figures with "Try Me!" packaging: Limbs missing from some, others the entire figure is gone as seen above
-- Various BAD pieces stolen
-- A BAD figure with a Battle Droid arm instead of the BAD part

And I too have tried to tell customer service what's going on and am met with the same apathy. Eventually I stole an idea from someone on here, I want to say CHEWIE, where if you notice a swap, damage the hell out of the packaging so no casual mom/kid will buy it.
