Star Wars Rebels / Re: Recents Finds and/or Purchases
« on: January 31, 2015, 01:40 PM »
Time to knock some dust off this thread. After putting in a lot of quality time at area Targets the past few days, I was able to score 2 Wookie 2-packs last night and a Sabine 2-pack this morning.  ;D

No sign of the Vizago 2-pack, but a fellow collector found one for me across town this morning apparently. Definitely want some openers of that and the Sabine pack.

It seems clear they are getting partial cases of these just like the single carded figures. Really hate that, could have been done with the whole wave after 2 stops instead of all this piecemeal nonsense.

Like both guys but don't think either is a good fit for this role.

Commence the thawing of River Phoenix!

Yes! I would like the cancelled Clone Wars R5-P8 to show up as well.

So true about stirring the pot.

Clearly that seller was indicating that the "MONTH" cannot move. So he probably was just referring to the release date.  :D

The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: Retail Prices/Sales/Discounts
« on: January 28, 2015, 08:56 AM »
I just don't understand the logic of raising the price ONLY on the Black Series 3.75" collector line. Why would that line specifically be the one to bear the brunt of the re-pricing? I don't see them raising the price of the 6" line or the Saga Legends stuff, or even the vehicles. (Not complaining, mind you...)

It does sort of remind you of that girl in high school who wanted to break up with you but didn't have the nerve so she just started acting like a total bitch to force you to break up with her.

Supposedly it is not a prototype, but it does belong to an overseas collector. I'm almost tempted to buy one from Viperskingdom just to see what shows up.

Based on the images released on eBay, I contacted the sell and he said that the jaw for Bossk is no longer articulated.  :(

LOL, JTA is calling that guy a liar now.  :D

From the pics they just posted, the jaw is clearly articulated. Hoping this is not just a funky variant...

I would love to have been a fly on the wall at those closed door meetings with Hasbro.

TRU: "We'll take 100,000,000 units of any SW exclusive you have to offer, as long as you can guarantee all of the figures have already been released. And we can mark it up at least 15%..."

Target: "We'll take all the Command sets and role plays stuff you guys can trawl out. But we only need about 750 figures for 2015 to split up between all of our 1000+ stores."

Walmart: "What are these Star Wars toys you speak of? We don't want any new product on our shelves thank you, the junk that has been pegwarming the past 5 years is perfectly satisfactory."

I think I've seen maybe 3 Choppers on the pegs, all before Christmas...haven't spotted a single Rebels figure in weeks though. They really dried up quickly.

Other Toy Lines / Re: 2014: What Are You Collecting?

Star Wars- Everything from the 6" line, guestimating 12-15 figures for 2014, maybe an exclusive or two. Anything from the Clone Wars series they happen to make in either 4" line. Definitely ALL the Rebels stuff, psyched for that...

Walking Dead- Everything as far as the comic and TV waves, any 10" figures they bring out after Daryll, love this line...

Pacific Rim- Any and all, Wave 3 for the 7" and both 18" figures, maybe even the Sideshow GD. Love this line SO much!

Hobbit- Still need 4" Azog, but after that I guess I'm done until they see fit to release those other $%^&  dwarves...

Prometheus- Wishful thinking, but somehow get us Fifield and Holloway already...

My list surprisingly hasn't changed too much this year:

STAR WARS: All Black Series 6"
                              All Rebels 3&3/4" stuff
Random Clone Wars offerings in the Saga Legends line...

WALKING DEAD: Anything from the TV Series line
                                    Anything from the 10" line
Anything from the Lego-esque building line

PACIFIC RIM:  Anything from the 18" line
                                 Anything from the 7" line

FUNKO REACTION: Select properties only, Aliens, T2, etc

1. General Grievous
2. Jawas
3. Emperor's Royal Guard
4. Dengar
5. 4-LOM
6. Zuckuss
7. Bib Fortuna
8. Snowtrooper
9. AT-AT Driver
10. Shaak Ti

They never do a good job on the humans, so let's stick with the weird aliens.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series Deluxe Line
« on: January 15, 2015, 08:48 AM »
Luke and Wampa, as originally announced, would have worked better in this wave, IMO. Now they're pushed out into limbo?

I see tons of Biker Scout sets everywhere I's great but geez, the demand has been met by now. Not a lot of people are going to be buying multiples of these at $35 a pop. (Ok, I admit I have 5 but I'm nuts)

Yes, very disappointing and unnecessary IMO. How are they not able to cost these things out prior to showing them off at SDCC? It should not be hard to verify which features will be included ahead of time. Cutting corners like this is really the biggest turn off with this line.

And that Han helmet looks terrible, way too squished and the lenses are all messed up.

I guess we should be happy they're not jacking the price up to $25... ::)
