That Patton Oswalt Star Wars filibuster from tonight's parks and rec episode was hilarious.

The Sequel Trilogy / Re: Are you ready for yearly Star Wars films?
« on: April 17, 2013, 11:10 PM »
So, Disney decides to kill all other SW related entertainment for the 2-3 years to drum up some hunger for the new movies, but then all concern about manufacturing anticipation goes out the window and they're ready to crank em out relentlessly like a new line of cars each year?

Don't get me wrong, I love having new SW movies coming with some regularity, I just don't see how stuff like 1313 and the Clone Wars show were really going to mute the impact of the ST as far as a pop culture phenomemon. They should have left that stuff alone or better yet used it as a platform to set the stage for the next stories.

I was shocked to read that he was married to Sarah Douglas, Ursa from Superman II and the evil queen from Conan II. She was always one of my favorite geek chicks.

Even odder, I read they starred together in People That Time Forgot, which was just on TV yesterday. I caught the end but he was unrecognizable.

no, no and no. HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER FTW!

"It's either you...or them."

Honorable mention goes to his role as the homosexual man-rapist in Sea of Love. Super disturbing.

he's gonna bring a lot of creep factor to GOTG...

Sounds super awesome to me, well most of it anyway.

The Shade? Freaking cool.

Talz sidekick Muffie? Ugh.

I have to wonder if this would ever see the light of day though. Anything that has a connection to 1313 seems like a lost cause now.

They are firing people who actually do their jobs well, yet Hasbro continues to bask in impunity. They are the worst managed thing associated with Star Wars right now and yet operate without any fear of reprisal or accountability whatsoever.

Saw a bunch of Walmart DVD 2-packs at Tuesday Morning yesterday, but they were all the Ahsoka/Clone sets. None with Obi-Wan. Weird. Still $7.99.

Got my variant Boss yesterday...damn, he is sweet. Probably the last Clone Wars figure I will ever buy that I didn't already have.

Green and yellow >>> blue

I want to own a copyright to a comic character and not allow anyone to re-imagine it.

Today I finally picked up the Warriors and Droids Euro-exclusive Warriors and Droids multipack. It was a pretty penny but what I considered to be one of the very, very few remaining "gaps" in my collection. (The only other one now is the English language version of the Special Value 3-pack with Grievous, Obi-Wan and Cody)

The Warriors and Droids multipack is all repacks of single carded figures, very similar to the Legends of the Clone Wars multipack, but a cool offbeat novelty nonetheless, IMO.

He offered to refund the cost of the item minus shipping and let me keep the figure, or have me ship it back at my own expense and he would give me a full refund. Which I still maintain is unfair because it obligates the buyer to shell out additional $$$ over an issue which was in no way my fault. If I had opened a case and made a big stink about it I might have gotten some traction, but it wasn't worth the headache to me. I just kept the figure and took the partial refund, I guess I can sell or trade it off to try and recoup some of the lost dollars.

I think some people are freaking out because they see this as Domino #2 in Disney's scorched earth policy towards all things Star Wars that are not Sequel Trilogy related. First came the Clone Wars franchise, animated division, etc, and next will be Dark Horse and all the comic continuities. God only knows what comes after that. Hasbro? Internet fan sites?

I can sympathize, but it does sound like the situation with 1313 was a lot more muddled to begin with.

All I know is when I go down there in October I am building one of everything and throwing 'em all up on eBay like Adam Pawlus told me to. Cha-ching!

Picked up a second Boss with orange backpack from the UK off of ebay yesterday, hopefully the seller sends the right one this time. I did verify before paying, so chances are good I think.

Yay, I picked up the Michonne & Pets Bloody B&W 3-pack today from TRU. And I had a coupon for 20% off so I got it for $31.99 to boot. Good stuff.
