The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: CW Deluxe Figure & Vehicle Line

Saw something about that on Facebook...interesting. Seems like a worthy choice.

What is the Republic Recon Fighter with Anakin that is also listed in this wave? Is that a TPM based offering? Or another Clone Wars selection?

I don't think they are even differentiating the Clone Wars toys anymore with the new line look, which makes it even harder to figure out what I am supposed to be buying.

Star Wars:

Vintage Collection - Maybe Aurra Sing, Aayla Secura, the Vong...if they turn out well

Clone Wars - 1 MOC/MISB of everything (such as it is) - maybe an opener here or there if they decide to actually release any interesting figures. Krell probably. I really want the MIA Walmart 2-packs and the Mando Transport as well. Will also likely track down the remaining European exclusives I still need: the Warriors and Droids multipack and those 3 new 3-packs.

"TRUE" Vintage - Carded DROIDS A-Wing Pilot, Carded DROIDS Boba Fett, Orange Hair Luke, Double Telescoping Luke, and Vinyl Cape Jawa.

Fantastic Four #1-5, #12
Darkchylde Redemption Ice Blue Demon Foil Variant (most impossibly hard to find comic ever)
Full run of original Wrightson Swamp Thing

Misc Swag:

Walking Dead: All of the TV figures, plus whatever future offerings that may be forthcoming...this line is killer!

Stuntman Mike MOC

vintage ROM Spaceknight figure MISB

Zandor & Zok Herculoids set (#3 of 3)

Babylon 5 Shadow Sentient figure

vintage Micronauts figures and playsets

vintage Black Hole figures

vintage Battlestar Galactica figures

vintage LOTR figures

That should take care of whatever disposable income I may find myself with next year...

These look really good...

Dang, I can't see that website at work. Does it give a street date for the TV figures? I have been looking for those everywhere, they should be out by now.

I know. This is bizarro week. Redskins and Indy win...

Ugh, let's be fair, the Skins are nowhere near as bad as Indy, although they do share the same glaring problem - QB play.

If Shanny gets Griffin, Moore, Barclay or Luck in the draft this year - watch out!

HAVE: Various TCW figures - Shirtless Savage, Saesee Tiin, Jar Jar Binks, etc

WANT: the Clone Wars Y-Wing Scout Bomber w/Clone Pilot Warthog Deluxe set

That is all. TIA!

Craziness...found the ENTIRE TPM Wave at Target today at mid-day. I don't have any particular interest in these figures, but some of them look mighty cool.

I did pick up a Ratts Tyerell and Ben Quadrinaros figures which I am hoping to swap someone straight up for a minty boxed TCW Mini-Y-Wing Deluxe set. PM me if interested!

Target TPM wave has arrived here, just got the head's up from another local collector. Luckily there is nothing in this wave I have the slightest interest in, so money saved.

I got my Proto-Boba mail-away sometime Monday or Tuesday.

Hmmm, how about the Mandalorian Assault Transport and those 2 awesome Walmart DVD-2 packs?

Oh wait, those toys never ever actually came out, and probably never will before the JAN reset.  ::)

The best thing about this year was having MORE than 19 figures, 1 battlepack and a small handful of Deluxe sets to buy and enjoy.

I guess next year at this time we'll all be saying the best thing from 2012 was how much money we saved over the past year by them NOT making any of the hundreds of cool toy options from this show that have yet to materialize.

Do I need two of these?

Do you have the space to display/store them?

Consensus seems to be that this is a pretty cool toy. I have never felt compelled to pick up an extra for openers, but it seems like a good buy.

I respectfully disagree, but obviously I'm biased.

I don't think this line has ever had a major problem with chronic secondary pegwarmers, not to the extent of Legends or even the Vintage collection. You've got your Yularens sure, but over a period of months most of the secondary figures seem to cycle through pretty quickly. I don't recall Hasbro ever having to do a  reclamation project on TCW like they have from time to time with the other lines (but I could be wrong).

Moreover, I think it's way to soon to draw any conclusions on these last 3 waves. Distribution is still somewhat spotty in places, and personal observances are apt to vary dramatically. You cannot easily find a Seripas or Armored Savage around here still. I think it's going to take some time before it becomes apparent what has and hasn't worked with these latest offerings. (El-Les certainly seems like the lead clunker so far, but this was an odd choice IMO, Season 3 Ahsoka or the Magnaguard would have been much better)

I just think it all comes back to character choices. Some one shot characters make for great figure choices, like Commander Jet, others not so much. I just think a character has to resonate with the fans for whatever reason, be it kids, collectors, whoever. The right figures will sell though, I am convinced, especially if released in relative proximity to the entertainment tie-in. (How many kids would love to be getting Krells right now?)

At any rate, Clone Wars stuff still seems to be moving so I can't agree with the logic to pull back on the line next year, but that stuff is out of my hands. What bothers me more than the quantity though are the selections. Even the few new figures they have previewed though seem incredibly lackluster, so I worry if those don't sell they will feel vindicated in their decision.

There's really no transparency to any of this stuff, so who really knows. It's a crazy industry.

Damn dude, just...damn. That is like a vintage wet dream right there.

BSG? Buck Rogers? If you have a shelf someplace with the full run of Black Hole or vintage LOTR figures, you are officially the God of Toys.  ;D

Why did they stop producing castings from the DROIDS prototypes? I would buy those in a heart beat. I see those things pop up on eBay from time to time but they are always half-assed customs.

Awesome collection, just awesome. I am rarely impressed by other people's stuff but this is right up my alley.

Looks like this wave is showing up at Target!

Was this the wave due out on 1/30?

Who thought it would be a good idea to sandwich a 5 week break into the middle of this arc? That is utterly asinine. There is NO reason they could not have broadcast a new episode Friday night...weak sauce.

Just need: the DVD 2packs (if they come out) and the Mando Gunship (x2) and if I'm lucky enough to be like McMetal and stumble on one more Riot Control Clonetrooper, I'll be good with the SotDS stuff...

I actually found two un-opened cases with the Riot Control Clone Trooper last night at TRU. I snagged a Riot dude plus a Barriss for my daughter. PM me if you're interested in this thing, otherwise I will probably just end up returning him. Cheers!

Whatever, I love it.

People have been giving away HOF talent to the Lakers long enough. Damn right put your foot down. They never should have gotten Gasol in the first place, that was a ridiculously unfair trade.

It's like all these stupid GM's just want to roll over and and hand LA the trophy every year just to improve their bottom line.

Competitive balance around the league just makes things better all around.

War Dwight Howard re-signing with the Magic!
