A couple of Walmarts have started to reset around here. No Jabbas, but one thing of interest is the General Grievous Force Battler. For some reason I haven't seen this guy anywhere else yet. It doesn't appear to be any kind of exclusive though, and it's $2 more expensive than the Battlers at Target, so I am thinking I should wait.

Still no sighting of TCW Fall Wave 2 or the K-Mart Exclusive pack.  :(

I am not an opener so I retain all mine in their original packaging. The only vehicle I have ever bought an extra of to open was the Octuptarra Droid. I did keep that diorama and it is currently diplaying all my loose modern figures.

Hmmm, I hope they correct those dioramas...I don't want to have to search all over for boxes that are properly oriented.

I'll be buying all, but the Swamp Speeder and AT-AP may require openers as well. Those are awesome.

The card at SDCC for the AT-AP had a street date of 8/29 but I'm guessing it will be September or OCtober before we actually see these. Hope it's sooner though.

You know, Ventress has LONG since outlived her usefulness. Every second they extend her life is a further affront to the Sith Rule of 2. The Galaxy just ain't big enough for her, Palps, and Dooku. I thought they were all about the Master and Apprentice?

Tartakovsky had the right idea with her all along - a quick exit.

Our local TRU had a sale going on the AT-AT today...$10 off, so $89.99 total. Cheapest I have seen it yet.

I saw a case of the new Vintage stuff last night at K-Mart for the first time Jesse, they were priced at $8.49 each. That puts them right in between Target and TRU...no idea about Walmart as all the ones around here have yet to fully reset.

I'm almost certain the reason Hasbro balked at the Twilight was because of the association with the super-popular vampire movies.  Perhaps in a few years when the movies are all done and gone we'll get that vehicle.

That's actually more plausible to me than any of the other lame excuses they have given.

Here's hoping for a renewed presence in Season 3.

Has there been numerous reports of this wave hitting yet? I'm always wary to spend any time hunting when just one or two third person reports are posted.

I've only seen the one report via Galatic Hunter, don't think anyone from our forum has spotted them yet.

I have hit up 3 Walmarts in the past 24 hours and only 1 of them was even close to a reset, so they are really lagging.

If I find 'em, I'll post about it ASAP, believe me.  :)

TODO 360 is back!!

As what - rubble? he was blown to bits in last year's season opener, wasn't he?

The writers of '24' even think that's a stretch...LOL

Hmmm, figured there would be a bump for the front page news?

IMO, this is just a weak cop-out. If the frigging Sci-Fi channel can finance a high quality show like BSG, there is no reason whatsoever that Star Wars couldn't be green lit.

I know NBC had a hand in the BSG production as well, but still, Lucas is a freaking BILLIONAIRE. There has to be a way to make it work. If done right, the show could be an epic blockbuster.

I think they're risking losing out on a big opportunity here. It's vital to the long-term success of the franchise to keep building new generations of fans. They have a good lock on the older market and the kiddies with the movies and animated show, but they're not reaching out to the teen/young adult market. The live action show could be the perfect vehicle for that.

Went back to Target this morning and picked up the RC Hailfire Droid. Not sure if I will open this or not, but at that price I'm not buying more than one.

Hit up Wal-Mart too, they were in mid-reset, no figures up yet, but they had a couple of Force Battlers. No Jabba.

Still no Jodo #$%^&* Kast at K-Mart. MAN, I cannot wait to stop frequenting those stores.

Just got back into town tonight and hit up the local TRU...they finally got Kul Teska in stock. :)

I had to rummage through to find one in minty packaging with decent paint apps, but it was well worth it. I am keen to buy one for openers but I'm thinking it may be prudent to hold off a bit in case this ends up being part of some promotion ala Ponds.

Also saw the RC Hailfire Droid at Target for the first time. I held off on buying this for the moment, but I am heading back there tomorrow morning once I get paid.

Pretty good week!

Funny that most people on here have at least some Vintage already, but a few Target stores are holding out until the 6th.

Does anyone have a good explanation for the street dates on toys?  I get doing this with media where you have big events around the launch and potential for leaking tracks/copying etc. But I would seriously like to hear a sound arguement on Hasbro's behalf of using street dates on their figures.  Seems to just cause confusion and make people mad in my opinion.

The only rational idea I've been able to think of is if they somehow "sold" an earlier release date to Toys R Us.  Maybe it was part of the package deal with the exclusives, but if they use it as a bargaining chip with a lone retailer, then I can see where it would make sense.  If other retailers don't honor that date, then the benefit to TRU would go away.  Outside of that, is there any real reason to do this other than trying to control that which you don't need to control?

Hasbro claims the street date was to create an "event" feel around the Season 3 Premiere of The Clone Wars.  ::)

There are so many problems with that idea I don't even know where to begin. Like the fact that the actual show won't air until September or October. Or the fact that Legends and the Vintage Collection have virtually no connection to the animated program. Or the fact that foreign territories were exempted. (The show airs roughly the same schedule abroad as it does here)

It's almost like they wanted to create some kind of massive clusterf**k on August 6th.  Luckily stuff started leaking out early or people would have had a had time finding everything on that day. (IMHO)

That's awesome! Did he apologize for the inconvenience?

I love happy endings.

If anyone tries to take any toys out of my hand, they better be very strong and very fast.  ;D
