The Vintage Collection / Re: Recent Vintage Collection Purchases

Spotted the Search for Luke Skywalker, new vinty-boxed Taun-Taun, and new vinty-boxed Landspeeder all at the same Target on an endcap. They had at least 2-3 of each, but regretfully I did not verify the pricing. (sorry)

Not interested in any of them but I did let another local guy know who is keen to pick these up so if I get more info I will post.

So I've been to 3 different stores now to purchase the Season 3 set and noone carries the Blu-Ray version. WTF?

I know Best Buy will have it but I hate that store with a passion so there has to be a better brick and mortar option.

I'm tired of Sam Witwer. Also, Clancy Brown, Miguel Ferrer and a few others. Good for them getting work, but cartoon villains are starting to sound the same like they did in the 70's and 80's.

Padishah Emperor of the Known Universe Shaddam Corrino IV does voice-over work for cartoons?  :o

News to me. Great news!

I've got Comcast Bill,  and it looked great here.

Ditto, no issues with the HD down here.

JTA reports this has been found in the US now, so start looking.

Best part? It's $24.99, the exact same price as Luke's Taun-Taun.

So you pay the same for 1 Taun-Taun as you do for a Taun-Taun with 2 action figures thrown in.

That makes sense.  ::)

Yeah, $200 for a loose Yak Face is ridiculous. Did it even come with the coin? I didn't even pay that much for my carded Sise Fromm.

It's frustrating when people have an inflated sense of worth for their items.

Yeah, anything over $20 would be ridiculous and might actually cause me to pass. The pic posted above said $16.99, so I'll probably hope for that but expect to pay $19.99.

$24.99 each, according to the Yak.

In retrospect, I think it would have been a little more shocking if they hadn't spoiled it showing Rick running through the field with his wounded son in a promo for the new season that was airing WHILE THE SHOW WAS STILL ON.  ::) I hate it when shows do stuff like that.

But yeah, that was a great season opener, everything I enjoy about that series on display. Good action, quality splatter, strong writing. The blond chick's suicide rant was perfection, really well done. And we finally got The Herd! Hell yes!

Couple of thoughts:

1) Seems the dude on the RV would have noticed the zombies before they got quite THAT close. I mean, they were RIGHT up on them. I have to assume they didn't pass them on the road so I guess they just walked out of the woods.

2) Why weren't any zombies attracted to the sound of the recorded church bells? If that thing was on a timer it must have been going off for weeks. (Why did the church still have power even?)

3) I kinda missed the point of that scene with the older dude and the black guy talking about the "needs of the few" and the "magic radiator hose" or whatever. What was that? What exactly was the older dude implying?

Guess it would have been too easy for Rick to reveal what the doctor told him in the first 5 minutes. But if it's what we all think, why hasn't he told his wife yet?  ???

Capped off a perfect 24 hours, hitting for the complete toy cycle, a true rarity.  ;D

Picked up TVC Wave 9 yesterday afternoon at Walmart thanks to a local tip.

Picked up a nice carded Sise Fromm on eBay for the vintage collection last night.

And this morning I found a complete set of TCW Wave 11 at Target! Left all but Seripas who is simply incredible. I might need 3 of this guy, next to the Aqua Droid I think this is my all time favorite Clone Wars figure.

Hoping to round up another Seripas for openers today, but really, really psyched just to have seen these outside of TRU finally. Actually gives me hope I may one day see Wave 12 around here.

So are they abandoning the whole idea of having line-specific vehicles? I don't see that the new packaging actually identifies these things as Vintage or Clone Wars related. If so, I think this is a HORRIBLE idea. The lines are already blurred too much as it is. I think a lot of collectors like the differentiation.

Big weekend for DROIDS on eBay...I just missed on 2 separate 3PO auctions, but I struck gold the third time around by snagging a carded Sise Fromm. Not the best card condition, but I am pretty lenient as far as that stuff goes. Pretty psyched to have this guy off the list.

Now it's just down to C-3PO, Boba Fett, and that elusive A-Wing pilot. I swear the A-Wing guy seems even more scarce than Boba Fett, at least judging by how often they come around on eBay. Not easy to find that dude carded for the DROIDS line.

So why does the vintage cardback show CW Obi-Wan starfighter, but the vintage boxed vehicle is Kenobi's ROTS Starfighter. (I'd point out the irony that they are reissuing that vehicle now that they are discontinuing the ROTS "pilot" Kenobi figure from Legends/Vintage, but Hasbro does things like this all the time...)

co-sign. And why was the Clone Wars V-19 Torrent pictured in a Vintage style box either?

I think these past 2 episodes have been a little high on the whimsy factor, but compared to some of the previous seasons' low points they're still not all that bad. Seems pretty clear there is little to no toy fodder to be mined from these DROIDS esque adventures though.

Why is everything off next Friday? No Clone Wars, no Fringe, etc.

Was in the presentation last night at NYCC. Looking forward to rest of season 2, although uncertain since they gave Darabont the boot.

Please tell me they at least had the figures for sale! Those things were supposed to be out by now...I really want to check those out.

Looking forward to the premier, hoping since it's the first episode back and they want to hook in some new viewers they will have a little more action and a little less yakkity-yak.
