Unbelievable...this is the best one yet. Although it kind of sickens me that Filoni is treading all over the Tartakovsky rendition of that battle. Sorry Dave, he did it better. He did EVERYTHING better.

That aside though, pure awesomeness. Someone please confirm that those were the sticky Felucian things I saw talking to C-3PO...I love how bizarre and un-Star Warsy those things are.

They gotta make that Matrix-esque tunneling droid ship too.

Saw it last night, I enjoyed it a lot but ultimately it struck me as less pure Abrams and more of a Spielberg/Abrams mash-up. (Which makes sense given the dual production credits) It was very well done, and a solid summer movie for sure, but it left me wanting somehow.

I think overall I was hoping for something a bit darker, more like Cloverfield, which is my favorite thing he has ever done. (Sequel already!)

The kids were all great for sure. I just wish we could have seen more/better shots of the actual creature. It was even harder to see what it looked like than Clover. I always have that problem with CGI things, they move too fast for the human eye to really process the image. Whereas creatures done with actual physical suits/costumes looks so much more realistic (IE: The Predator). IMHO.

Lots of new shots of the first wave over at JTA...I guess they have just hit overseas. I have to question their whole "less than 30 days" projected domestic timeline because I don't think distribution is nearly that predictable.

I hate the thought of having to buy all 4 of these at once too...this feast or famine shtick is getting tiresome.

Thank God...this "temporary" look is HORRIBLE! What a godawful eyesore! Can't wait for the return of the classic JD look.

It's Lebron day.  We're all taking the last 12 minutes of the day off.

LOL, I'm taking my talents to the sofa.

I've never even heard of one of those, and I am all about comics. Classic ones anyway.

If that were the case, wouldn't LeBron et al. have gone to Dallas?  Snyder is a complete ass who craps on the fans and runs the Skins like a fantasy football team.

I know it's a popular sentiment nationally but that's not really an accurate view of the guy anymore. I'm a former season ticket holder and I certainly don't agree with everything Danny has done, but he is much like Cuban in his youth and obsession for winning (and tendency to rub some people the wrong way). The Skins just don't have any actual success to show for it.  ::)

I love that Cuban basically just shut up for the whole playoff run and did not allow himself to become a distraction. You know he was itching to have a go at Philip after that sweep.

What did you guys think of Lebron's postgame comments?

Could not have asked for a more satisfying ending to a great series. This is the most I have enjoyed watching the NBA since Jordan was around. Lots of great drama this year.

Gotta feel great for Kidd, Dirk, Jet, Marion, heck pretty much everyone. I love Tyson Chandler and JJ Berea's games too.

I'm even happy for Cuban, dude is the closest thing to Dan Snyder that the NBA has, so it's good to see him learn and grow. You gotta give those rings out though, come on.

Whither the Heatles? They could have won this thing with a little more determination, so it's not like they need to blow it all up. They really need a top-tier point guard though, someone who can actually control the flow of the game and run the offense. This 1-on-1 thing they try to do is not reliable.

I think they also need a seasoned veteran with at least one ring who can step in and regulate. A Charles Oakley/Ben Wallace type dude who can get in Lebron's and DWade's faces when necessary.

And how stupid was that whole coughing-on-tape schtick those 2 pulled? REAL mature fellas.  ::)

Lebron? I just don't get it. Dude is not even in the same conversation with Jordan anymore, as far as I'm concerned, or even Kobe for that matter. His disappearing act was just baffling.

Awesome, he is going to be so worth the wait! Once the Flitknot speeder comes out I'll be able to recreate that whole battle scene from Geonosis.

Think i read somewhere Lebron had like 10 FT attempts through the first 3 games too, for a guy that can get to the rack like him, that is abysmal.

It's been an odd's like Bosh and LBJ suddenly switched roles. One guy has redeemed himself, the other seems to be shrinking before our eyes.

Is Haywood out for the rest of the series? The Mavs need that guy. And someone organize a search party for Peja.

Other Toy Lines / Re: The Walking Dead

I prefer the larger style figures, despite the space crunch. I find generally the smaller the toy, the crappier the quality. Especially in the sculpts/likenesses.

Yeah. it'd be great if we got the TVC quality 3 3/4 figs, but more likely we would get something more akin to THOR or POTC...ugh. Pass.

The odds are much better that these characters will look superior in a larger size, IMO. I think they did a great job, these are right up there with the Watchmen figures in terms of source accuracy.

I just wonder if I will actually ever see these in a store.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Retailers Scaling Back on Movie Lines?
« on: June 7, 2011, 09:41 AM »
I don't see any of this stuff moving anywhere. Yeah, maybe early on Cap and GL, but they have badly botched the THOR line. How do you not have Wave 2 in the stores yet? The movie will be out of theatres before those things hit! That's absurd.

I don't see any movement with the IM or POTC stuff either. Just dead.

Toys in general have just become a depressing mess the past few months. I feel no joy on my hunts anymore.

After Game 3, I finally realized I am pulling for the Mavs. Heat are an interesting story, but you get the feeling they'll be back here, a lot. I feel like this is probably the last gasp for Dallas.

They are going nowhere fast though, unless that bench starts showing up, not to mention the other 4 stiffs standing around out there watching Dirk.
