Daredevil has its Kingpin

...and in older news...

Daredevil has its Daredevil

Kingpin - Good actor, not nearly fat enough. They needed someone of Brando-level girth.

The only one of these I care about is Power Man, for the sheer spectacle of seeing how they try to drag that cringe inducing doofus into the 21st century.

Although I promised myself I wouldn't watch anymore of Season 4 til I caught up, I flipped past and literally could not look away. So freaking awesome.

"Dropping the scythe" was the best moment for me...they keep finding incredibly awesome ways to kill people.

I've been doing PayPal stuff all week with no problems either.

What has more likely happened is that they have frozen his account for some reason and he is unable to send or accept payments. That happened to me a few months back when there was a concern about overseas fraud. (Thankfully I was not victimized and the hold was lifted after a week or two)

HBO also has some bonus content On-Demand that covers a lot of that backstory type stuff too, not sure if it is the same as the DVD's but definitely helpful. I just started watching recently too and am about halfway through Season 1...good stuff.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Recent Clone Wars Finds/Purchases
« on: June 5, 2014, 09:09 PM »
Picked up another dirt cheap Aqua Droid at yet another Tuesday Morning yesterday. I counted up and found that I now have 26 "extra" Clone Wars figures I've accumulated over time at bargain basement prices as future customizing fodder. Probably should get around to actually doing something with 'em now I guess!

Depp would be perfect IMO, the classic Strange I remember had those trademark gray sideburns, so the age fits. Plus, ya gotta think after all those years of medical school, residency, and establishing a practice as a successful surgeon, followed by the car accident, recovery, and subsequent wandering the world and studying the mystic arts for years, you'd have to think the guy would have a few years under his belt by then.

They did name drop him on SHIELD, or maybe it was Winter Soldier, so the seed has been planted. I agree this could be one of the coolest movies ever, if done right. (IE: stick to it being actual magic, and not some interdimensional mumbo jumbo) Dormammu would be a terrific villain too, not to mention Mordo.

Picked up a nice carded Aqua Droid today at Tuesday Morning for $2.79 + tax.  :)

I guess they are having a big clearance blow-out going on right now, saw some Saga Legends figures for the same price later at the store across town.

TRU just put up the new 18" Knifehead on their website. I went and pre-ordered one for $150. (Free shipping at least)

Estimated ship date is 6/17, so that is not long at all. Can't wait for this bad boy!

Damn, what a mess. It's my all time favorite comics franchise, but it's hard to feel any sympathy for Fox after the abominable last 2 films, and what looks to be an equally awful reboot. I can't blame Marvel for wanting to distance themselves from that drek. It annoys me to no end that they don't exist in the same universe as the Avengers though.

I hate to see that play out with the comics too, even though I haven't read that title since John Byrne left. They are one of the cornerstone, tent pole type superhero teams IMO, and they deserve better.

Yeah, I got him too and I totally agree...I kinda wish I had 3-4 of them, but doesn't really work without the bikes. That would have made for a great Deluxe set.

Get the Quarren and Mon Cal Troopers too.  You'll dig 'em.

Done and done! Yes, those guys are terrific too...they were among the first I picked up. Just need Obi-Wan and Saesee Tiin to complete my Legacy Clone Wars themed collection.  ;D

I recently picked up BD10 and BD16, the Scuba Trooper and Quad-Gun Clone Trooper off eBay for less than the standard MSRP for the Black line today, so that's the kind of place my money is going nowadays. Well spent too, these are cool figures.

The last scene alone was enough to confirm I should be watching this show. Epic!

The Sequel Trilogy / Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Excellent additions to the cast! This is really getting me optimistic for the flick. I just hope Lupita is not Obi-Wan's daughter as I just don't like that whole basic premise.

Loved seeing the new set photos, but wonder if that isn't some kind of planned leak...seems like JJ would have a tighter lid on that kind of stuff as a notoriously secretive type. Hell of a way to keep stirring up interest though.

So encouraging to hear they're shooting monsters that take 5 people to operate them too...speaks to a departure from the CGI laden effects of the PT, and a great nod to the OT. What's old is new again.

And wow, I think I saw more black people in those 45 photos than the first 3 movies put together. Props for putting together such a diverse cast, even the extras reflect a broad range of ethnicities which only enhances the SW universe that much more, IMHO.

Just the voice though, as I understand it.

I can't really imagine him in that type of role, but he's not necessarily a bad choice I guess.

After three bad flicks in a row I guess he's eager to get on board the ultimate slumpbuster.
