Archer!  Best new series of 2010!

Don't really care for piss poor animation and crude subject manner I guess.  I've just been sticking to the Fox stuff.

Not trying to tease you, but that just reads like such a hilarious contradiction. Fox has built an empire on poor animation and crude subject matter, IMO. King of the Hill makes my eyes bleed it is so poorly drawn. And nothing stoops as low as Family Guy, God bless 'em.  ;D

Adult Swim started when I was in college and will always be special. There have been some great shows on there, and more than a few pilots that should have become shows. (AHEM - Korgoth, BEST THING EVER)

I can get with about 85% of the programming now. No interest in the schlocky anime they run, or the endless reruns of Family Guy or American dad, but most everything else is gold.

Best things right now:

ATHF (Probably done though)
SQUIDBILLIES (Freaking unstoppably hilarious)
VENTURE BROS (I really think they need to cut it back to 12 minutes like everything else though)
SUPERJAIL (Words cannot even describe the brilliance, perverse and mondo-violent)
METALOCALYPSE (Seriously - animation + death metal? It's like they ripped the show right out of my brain!)

And last but certainly the opposite of least: CHECK IT OUT with Dr. Steve Brule!!!!!!!

You either love this show or hate it - there is no in-between. I think it's the most screamingly funny epic thing on TV ever, but then I actually watch low budget cable access shows, so there you go.

I'm an AS guy for life, boyee.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: CW "Epic Encounter" Ultimate BP

Well, I finally broke down and ordered this thing today off Toy Palace. It's been at the top of my list for nearly a year, and after months of diligent searching I feel confident I will never see this on eBay. That alone is practically unbelievable.

I got a small discount as a new customer, but it's still brutal financially. The shipping alone is half as much as the item itself. Still, as a diehard completist this was a mandatory pick-up.

Will bump the thread when it arrives, but it will likely be awhile.

Nice find. Once I saw the posting over at Yakface I went to Could this be the listing on

I can now confirm that the above listing is actually for the AT-AT, not the Rise of Boba Fett UBP.  :'(

I don't see any kind of listing for the UBP yet. Damn!

They still have the wrong item description up for the Nikto Pirate too.

GH is reporting that the TRU Exclusive AT-AT in vintage packaging has been found in the Center of the Toy Universe, AKA Arizona. Looks like the price will be $109.99.

Was going to cave and buy this when it finally arrives on the East Coast in a few months, but I think I will have to pass because space is fast becoming an issue with my collection. Bummer.  :(

Good points, I was thinking about it last night and there will always be that goofy name precedent from the movies, although it seemed to get worse in the Prequels, so I get that. I just think they've kind of taken it to a rather ridiculous extreme. I like cool, alien sounding names like K'Kruhk though...wish they went more that route.

And yeah, I do love the Zabraks too, and this could be a potentially cool character, and certainly a worthy figure. Just wish he had a better name.

If they are introducing new characters with an ultimate endgame in mind for them, that's great. I just hate to see continual cluttering of the cast with no occasional deletions. It gets unwieldy after awhile. Less screen time for the "regulars" and all that.

Well, if this is going to be TRU's Deluxe exclusive this Fall, the other one should follow form and be a TCW offering, like last year. Something for everyone.

Kudos for the exclusive first look at Vos. You guys rule!

I agree with Jeff, he must be in Season 3 because it seems ridiculous to have held him out of CV otherwise. Then again, it would have been smarter to just go ahead and show it rather than letting the photos leak the next week too.  ::)

I'm calling this schmoe "Tarzan-Jedi"...or maybe "Master Perry Farrel".

Stupid, but I'll buy him.

Great pics...does anyone know if the R2 is a straight repack or not? I have heard varying theories on the Interwebz. He has been re-issued so many times I can't even tell anymore.

Beautiful...still wondering which Mando will come carded though. Is it the version from the Deluxe set, the version from the upcoming BP, or something different?

Fair enough, it does not look like the one I bought last year, but maybe so. At least it's different from an aesthetic standpoint.

My set arrived via Fed Ex today, an excellent addition to my collection. I love that they used an older Zuckuss sculpt rather than the one that was just issued recently. Much closer to the vintage original.

Finally got around to watching the new trailer last night. Good stuff. This season looks action packed...can't wait for the Kamino siege. Good to hear they are making a point to move things forward plot-wise and character-wise. I really do hope they have a clear exit strategy and endgame in mind for the show though, and aren't just treading water ala LOST. If the show is planned for 5 seasons, stick to that and sketch out the arcs accordingly.

Now to the obligatory complaining.  ;D

I am troubled by the ongoing infusion of comic/novel/video game EU into the show. I get that it's a shrewd marketing ploy on the part of Hasbro to cross-pollinate the various lines and force suckers like me who love TCW but hate the "other" EU stuff to buy their crap. And it works. I ponied up the dough for my Kul Teska like a good little consumer, all the while wishing they just could have called him Wat Tambor and been done with it.

I just think it blurs all sense of continuity with these ongoing "mash-ups". It used to be I could just watch the show having seen all 6 movies plus the animated 3D TCW film, and I had all the background I needed to grasp the plot to its fullest extent. Now I'm increasingly baffled trying to figure out what the hell is a Quinlan Vos and a "Nightsister".  ::) (Bad Manga rip-off on those chicks BTW)

The other problem I have is that they are just overloading on too many characters now, particularly villains. Do we really need ANOTHER Sith lackey? I've lost count of how many bad guys there are at this point. They don't seem to have a problem killing Jedi on that show, why not spread a little death around on the Separatist side? A little purge now and again helps keep things manageable. (see: Heroes)

And just stop with the ridiculous names already. SAVAGE OPPRESS?!?! AYFKM? Yeah, the French inflection really makes him sound bad-ass. It's not even cute or clever anymore, it's just lazy. That schtick stopped being funny about 8 Bond movies ago.

Inane rants aside, I do really enjoy the show and am very psyched for the upcoming premier. And I'm buying all the toys just like they want me too.  ;D

Everyone is experiencing the same slow shipping. Mine shipped on 8/14 still waiting...

My order shipped 8/12 and I am STILL waiting. Last time it made it here from RI in about 2 days. I think there is some kind of problem going on if everyone is experiencing these delays.

Vader is everywhere here too. Boba just the opposite. Sounds like a nationwide trend. In general it seems like sales have slowed a bit...I see plenty of vintage figs on the pegs pretty much everywhere I go now.

And for the record, I would buy an animated Vader.  ;D
