TRU had the latest wave of TCW repacks on the shelf. (Actually still in the case, waiting to be shelved) CW24-29, if anyone is interested.

No new BP's, no Wave 10.

Thanks dude, I can't see those pics at work but will inspect closely tonight to compare.

I actually have one from my youth, and the one I just got appears identical, so I'm hoping there is some kind of noticeable difference with the "Skittles' Variant.

The photo on the auction though, looked much bluer than what I got though. That is the main reason I am frustrated. Maybe it is just a really subtle difference though.

One more down...Blue Apron Ugnaught.

This is killing me.  >:(

I finally got the Ble Apron Ugnaught, opened it, and what do I find but the purple apron version. Looks nothing like the pic on the auction.

So of course I write the seller to complain and he says "no, that IS the blue apron version. The purple variant is an even darker shade of purple". WTF?!?!

Are people just color-blind or can they really not tell the difference between blue and purple? I feel like I got totally hosed, and am trying to figure out how to get my money back now.

I've been on eBay over 10 years and the worst experiences I have had by far are with people dealing vintage SW merchandise. There is just something inherently shady about the whole enterprise.

Yep, I've just seen pics up of the new TCW wave too, not sure from where. Looks like there's going to be plenty of new toy love to spread around this week!

I think the Twilight would be a great addition to the bigger vehicle line-up though, and if they delivered something real spiffy I may cave, but for $100 I really don't think they'd pull something off I was totally happy with.

I agree with you 100% on that one. I think the Twilight would be an excellent, and logical, choice for that price range. As far as TCW, I don't think there are a lot of compelling candidates for big toys left, except for maybe the Republic Attack Shuttle.

I would not be surprised to see the Twilight in 2010 if the show continues to hold strong.

I also would love to speak my mind to a rep next time I see one. However, I don't see the sense in trying to get the employees punished. Frankly, that seems juvenile and makes collectors look bad. You cannot expect the employees to know and keep up with 3 barely different packages, especially when the day before they could have been working clothes or food. I'm sure even the toy managers have more to worry about than keeping Star Wars figures on the correct pegs. If Star Wars was the only toy line, there would be no excuse, but unfortunately that is not the case.

I see your point, and I don't really want anyone to be punished either, but I do want managers held accountable if they are choosing reshuffling over reordering, because that's just lazy. I am sure hat is the case with some of these stores.

Pete - you are my freaking hero. Post of the year!

What a great story, I would KILL for an opportunity like that. Just to be able to express the myriad problems to someone in a position like that is priceless.

What a great insight into the Walmart drone mindset too. Now I am even more determined to rearrange the pegs every time I go there and leave them with a huge, gaping empty spot where new figs should be. I hope someone DOES get in trouble for that.

The rumor is false.

Just thought I'd second that statement. A buddy at another site found this wave at a TRU in upstate NY, so they are in the US and in B&M stores.

Greg, awesome post - thanks a ton for that info. That makes 1 new fig wave, 1 new BP, and 2 new Deluxe Vehicle Fig sets for TCW line spotted at a TRU today. (I assume you buddy's find was recent?)

Yep, I picked a great week to bitch and moan about the lack of new product.  ::)

Oh yeah, we were due for some East Coast love.  :D

If anyone finds this BP, please post the UPC or item # code in here so I can call around and see if any of the other VA TRU's got 'em in stock.

It's not listed on the TRU website yet, so I don't have a place to look this up.

Thanks! Good hunting!

Thanks, I am in total agreement with you on the Ugnaught. I actually had the purple version from back in the day, so I look forward to comparing side by side.

Thanks, i can't read their forum at work so wasn't sure. Weird that it wasn't Cali or Texas.

I found no new BP's, but as I just posted in the other thread, I did pick up both new Deluxe Vehicle/Fig Sets. (Woot!)

Richmond VA is the center of the toy universe, at least for one brief, shining moment!

The new TCW Deluxe Vehicle/Fig Sets have been spotted at retail!!!

I just bought the Count Dooku w/Speeder Bike & Obi-Wan w/Freeco Speeder at the local TRU!

First reported sighting (I think) ANYWHERE ONLINE!

Jedi Defender Exclusive!

Hey, some good news on the JTA front page today. This BP, along with the other Legacy ones in the same case, have been spotted at an actual brick and mortar TRU. (Not sure where - no details given)

Our local TRU opens up in 15 minutes...I am headed over to check ASAP. Will post back if I find anything good.

I didn't have any issues until the second or third week - legs just started falling off due to the body's own weight.  Perhaps they fixed that with the latter releases?  Tubing worked great.

LOL, you just know 10 years from now someone is going to be selling AT-TE's on eBay listed as "Rare, unfixed leg variant!" and charge an exorbitant price to some poor geek.

I paid $25 with shipping for the Brown snake Yoda variant. (The cane is a different color too as is his skin tone, and maybe something different about the eyes, not sure because he is not in hand yet) I generally don't like to pay that much for the more standard variants, but some you just don't see that much and this was a nice copy.

Yeah, the green snake variant may be subject to some conjecture, just like Blue Smock Ugnaught (Which I personally believe is a legitimate variant, not a color degradation). I guess it depends on your own point of view.

There are definitely some eBay autions out there for the Green Snake version, and the photos I have seen look legitimate, but who knows?

Variants are a slippery business, it's really difficult to gauge the legitimacy of a lot of these things because there are just so many out there but not a lot of corroborating evidence.

So how much is too much for a minty loose Sand Skimmer?  ;D
