Surprised to read on the front page that these are suddenly now ubiquitous around the country.

Not if you live around here!

None of our Targets have even started to THINK about doing a reset yet. Still showing zero counts for these sets at ALL local stores.

Maybe if he had sex with a Kardashian on a grainy video he would get more "cred"...

Ugh, he'd probably just try to marry her so he can give ANOTHER half of his fortune away.

Great artist, stupid as hell about relationships.

New York and Philly got better or stayed the same so Dallas is not in a better position.

Isn't there another team in that division? Drafted a guy from Texas or something to play QB? Think I heard something about that this offseason. ;)

Should be an interesting year in the NFCE.

Got my Masters of Evil set from HTS this week as well, glad to at least get one of the exclusives.  I'm still tempted to order that Helicarrier, if for a nice display area for MU for nothing else, but again, not sure where I'd put it (and could probably better use the money elsewhere).  The "regular" version is still coming to retail, right?  It doesn't seem like they talked about it much at SDCC, although I noticed it is up for preorder at BBTS.

Yeah, it should have a nice prominent spot at all your local retail outlets, right next to that MTT we should look forward to seeing the day after never.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Recent Vintage Collection Purchases

Well, it took buying up every last pegwarming TPM figure, but I finally forced my local Target to restock vintage, after literally six months.

I cleaned them out Monday and have been checking back every day since. I couldn't get out today though and was only able to swing by around 9pm but as luck would have it a new full case was still on the pegs.  :D

I was able to score Malgus (!!!), the INC, Hoth dude, and Clone Wars Anakin. I didn't see anything else that looked interesting, except for maybe the Vader, but meh.

I literally did not think I would EVER see Malgus on the pegs, so this was extremely gratifying to me personally, especially having done the "leg work" to get him there.

They also restocked the Clone Wars figures I bought up...with another case of Wave 1. =FAIL

I'm sorta geeked, because I like that there is stuff on at all hours seemingly. Watched the US Women stomp Colombia in soccer earlier today, that was fun.

Our neighbor's sister is competing in the javelin event, so we def have a rooting interest there.

WTF was up with that opening ceremony by the way? That was the most incomprehensible mess I've ever witnessed, I literally had no idea what I was watching for most of it.

I'm hoping the Pens land Doan since the douchebags Wild took Parise...  Semin I brought up to some of the local talking heads and it was pretty widely accepted that a guy who publicly **** all over Crosby and who puts out zero effort (so far) wasn't an ideal choice for here...  I thought, maybe it was his environment and not him.  The "experts" seemed to disagree with my suggestion, and I wasn't really with it.  Again though I don't think the Pens will pay heavy for Doan, given his age and slowdown, and if he goes for a lot they'd probably prefer waiting things out and seeing how the season goes, and then make a move at the deadline when they could be sitting pretty.  I'm ok with that.  The team's not exactly shoddy as it is. :P

Yeah, you dodged a bullet with Semin. Let Carolina deal with that headcase. Addition by subtraction for the Caps.

One is like Sisperia or something like that...  The trailer looked insanely good but low budget.  The trailer alone was creepy for that one.  Saw the Trailer for The Beast Must Die, which for some reason the outfits in that film make me seriously feel sorta queasy.  Original Friday the 13th is in there.  Some bad Sci Fi flick that looked like a horror film on a space station or something.

Yep, Dario Argento's SUSPIRIA is an ALL-TIME horror classic. Do yourself a favor and seek this out on video, you won't be disappointed. It is a masterpiece.

I also recommend the entire Lucio Fulci catalog.  ;D

Thanks to some excellent websites like Toys You Had and Plaid Stallions, I am slowly piecing together memories of some of my favorite toys from childhood. It's crazy, some of these things are bringing back a flood of dormant memories. The nostalgia effect is powerful.

Case in point: the Ideal Star Team 70's stuff.

OMG, I was NUTS for that stuff when I was a kid, I loved my Star Hawk and Red Zeroid. Had completely forgotten about it all.

So of course, I am now compelled to buy ALL of this stuff again and savor the sweet satisfaction of reclaiming a piece of my childhood.

First score was a MISB Knight of Darkness figure, which absolutely rules. Worst Vader knock-off ever, but as a kid I didn't even know or care I'm sure. I can't wait to get this thing in the mail!

Oh for Pete's sake, it's not War and Peace for chrissake. Is he going to film every single page word for word or something?

TWO movies was a stretch, but three is just plain ridiculous.

I love this stuff, but I don't want to seem them artificially stretch it out just to make more money, which let's face it, is the only reason the studio is on board with this.

What's next, the eight film epic retelling of the Silmarillion?

Vintage Kenner / Re: Restoring Playsets and Vehicles

Ah, I get it now. Tough call, seems like more of a personal choice on pulling them off the frame. They do self contain pretty nicely within the unit itself, so loss isn't too much of a risk. Then again, it seems like an untouched piece would be rarer and potentially more valuable. If the price isn't prohibitive I might suggest trying to pick them up loose just for that reason.

I really need to go back and start picking up some missing weapons and accessories myself. I still have a few gaps here and there...

Part of me wishes that they would put the Frank Miller version on the big screen, which to me is the ultimate Batman story, but then part of me hopes they won't because they would just screw it up by changing a lot of stuff. Nolan's version doesn't leave much breathing room for an even darker interpretation either.

My mon Bats don't shiv.

My "home" Target re-stocked with another case of TCW Wave 1...ugh. That's 12 figures that aren't going anywhere.

My "work" Target sold through most of the Wave 2 they put out, so I bought the rest up along with their remaining TVC figures. Fingers crossed, they come through with something good.
