Apparently I am not the only one keen on the US packaged version of this.

The first one of these to go up on eBay after the cancellation announcement sold for $295 last night.

I'm not kidding. Almost three hundred bucks. For that price, you could afford round trip plane tickets to Mexico plus cab fare to the nearest Walmart and just pick one up off the shelves yourself.

Clearly that is just crazy. There are more of these things out there in circulation and this kind of insane bidding isn't doing anyone any favors. (Except the sellers) I expect to see more of these popping up in weeks to come.

So Pete, you got a bargain.

Pathetic...even Disney can't get new stock out of Hasbro. They are hopeless.

Ugh, the ending of The Mist was appalling and repulsive in my opinion. I guarantee you whatever sorry jagoff wrote that did not have kids. It just came off as cheap and contrived to me. NOTHING like the way WD handled the Sophia storyline.

I did enjoy the shooting of that whackjob woman that kept making trouble though.

Yeah, that is a major bummer...I was hoping they would one day get around to stuff from their satellite Marvel properties like Dreadstar and Alien Legion.

MU was the one line I felt like Hasbro got right for the most part. The new waves seemed to ship with some regularity, they sold through pretty briskly, and it was never that impossible to find stuff you wanted. (Aside from that #$%^* Astral Dr Strange!)

So yeah, smart idea to kill the one line that WASN'T irreparably broken.

Why was Curto posting over at RS again? They don't deserve the benefit of his knowledge.

So...saw Prometheus tonight, and kept thinking back to this thread throughout. I thought it was pretty good overall, sort of started to fall apart a little bit after the whole self-caesarean thing, but solid for the most part.

Most of the previous comments about the surgery etc I could suspend disbelief for, but the biggest plot holes for me were the gap between this film and Alien.

Why is the planet known as LV-426 in the Alien moves but LV-233 (or whatever) in this film? Are we to believe these were not the same planet?

Well, assuming it is the same planet, which I think is logical, then you have to assume the crashed ship from this film is the one the crew of the Nostromo encounters. Which begs the question - how does the Engineer get from the escape pod back to his pilot's chair in the ship, with full flight suit on, AFTER the alien has already burst out of him? Because that's clearly where he is when the crew of the Nostromo board the ship and enter the bridge room. That seems like a big continuity error to me.

So I guess you also have to assume that the alien that burst from the Engineer was the Queen, and she subsequently laid all those hundreds of eggs throughout the ship, asexually somehow?

I think the black ooze was simply a biological weapon the Engineers had created to wipe out life after they had created it previously someplace, for whatever reason. It was a pathogen designed to mutate its host and create a parasitic organism that would essentially destroy everything.

Of course, then you're left with a whole planet full of aliens/facehuggers/eggs, so I don't see how that is an improvement really, but maybe they had a plan for that too.

Nice score, Pete!

I saw the Scuba Set and Recon Fighter at TRU yesterday, but already have 2 of each so was an easy pass. The scuba set's paint apps were even worse than the two I already have, too.

I hit four Walmarts and a Target last night and didn't see anything good out there.

We need pictures!

Awesomeness...wonder when these will hit, and how hard they will be to get...

Packaged photos of the new Commander Fox over at JTA...check 'em out!

Totally re-used tooling from what I can tell, a mash-up of recent Rex and Cody parts, painted up very red.

Despite the presumed lack or articulation, he's not too bad, IMHO. If they would continue to recycle tooling in new and imaginative ways, as I have always said they should, they could afford to put out more than 19 figures a year for this line.

One new figure in a wave though? Eesh.

RIP, sci-fi, horror icon Richard Lynch:

http://movies.msn.com/movies/article.aspx?news=737825

Will always remember him fondly from "Sword and the Sorcerer" and the epic "Gun on Ice Planet Zero" episode of Battlestar Galactica.

Best part of the above obituary is the last line:

"Lynch had said he suffered scarring in 1967 after he set himself on fire while under the influence of LSD."

Dude, that's hardcore.

Nobody seems to want those Skrull figures...why didn't they make any Chitauri?

BBTS now has a listing up for a Bloody B&W Zombie 3-pack, featuring all the walkers from the newest wave:

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=MCF13803&mode=retail

Count me in!

The cool thing about these toys is, when they get released, you can actually walk into a store and buy them. Unlike some toy lines I know.  ::)

Well, my hope was short-lived. I got a reply back from the seller stating that this was not in fact the US version, so they were kind enough to simply cancel my order prior to shipping.

So, back to the drawing board.  :(

I don't have the link but the SDCC exclusive Michone has been revealed and man that's an awesome figure. Comes with bloody katana, drill and a couple other 'tools of her trade'.

That's all the same gear the previous two versions have come with, actually.

BUT SHE HAS A NEW CLOAK!!!  ;D

I'm definitely down for one of these, guess I will have to pre-order someplace online. Love the new Adlard artwork.

I went ahead and bit the bullet like Pete and ordered one of these online that I think is the English packaging version. Pricey, but probably cheaper than it would be when/if one ever shows up on eBay. (Curious this hasn't happened already)

Fingers crossed, will find out next week.  :-\
