The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: The Future of the Clone Wars Toy Line?
« on: August 15, 2012, 08:51 AM »
Yeah, it is really depressing...this forum has become a ghost town lately.

I am really, really trying hard to find the newest waves, but I am not having any of the luck others seem to be having, at least according to some other sites.

At this point the frustration has begun to congeal into bitterness, so I am making an effort not to vent until I have something positive to share in here.

I hope that will be soon.  :-[

Not sure where else to stick this, but Hasbro's distribution problems have been solved!

They were shipping stuff all along, these perps were just stealing all the best figures!

I actually found these today at a ghetto K-Mart here locally. It was sort of interesting for about 2 seconds but not something I'd consider purchasing. No sign of the TCW Fox wave people are claiming is showing up there, although I did see possible remnants as they had a new Obi there.

George R.R. Martin, author of "A Game of Thrones", has slammed "Republicans and their Teabagger allies" in so-called swing states for what he calls "voter suppression."

In a recent blogpost on Martin's website, he refers to recent voter purges in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, Iowa, saying that "The people behind these efforts at disenfranchising large groups of voters (the young, the old, the black, the brown) are not Republicans, since clearly they have scant regard for our republic or its values. They are oligarchs and racists clad in the skins of dead elephants."

I finally had a chance to see the new Walmart plan-o-gram too last night, and it is different from the one shown over at JTA. This one had 3 pegs for TCW, 3 pegs for Vintage, and only 2 for Legends. There was designated space for the Class I series, but Class II was no longer included.

There was nothing on there about DTF, but as stated above they just fill all the pegs with that garbage anyway so obviously that means nothing to them.

And good luck squeezing any MTT's on that aisle.

If they would have drafted him to play WR or weren't going to throw him into starting, I would have mentioned it, he is Vince Young (part II or III if you will).

I watched both of those guys on the field last night, and one looked a whole lot better than the other. (Hint: the one with the 145+ QB rating)  ;)

All kidding aside though, I can understand skepticism of any highly touted rookie, but all of the early indicators seem to be that Robert is every bit as advertised. (Talking about the whole draft process through OTA's, rookie camp, training camp, etc, not just the 14 preseason plays from last night) Everyone from the writers, coaches, veterans, etc have been pretty impressed from what I gather.

We'll see how things play out when it really counts, but this doesn't feel like a bust pick to me somehow.

Ed Norton seriously ****** the pony on this.

Somehow, I doubt he cares...dude dumped Salma Hayek. He clearly does not think like the rest of us. LOL.

I was at a Disney outlet store over the weekend while on vacation and was surprised to see a healthy offering of Marvel Selects figures...mostly Black Widow or Hawkeye. These looked different the the similarly scaled versions I have seen at Walmart.

The cool thing was, they each came with a base that included parts of a burnt out Ultron. Have not seen these before but seemed kinda neat.

So...about two hours left to sign up, I got my order in just under the wire. I figure this is the way to go, I'm definitely going to want all of these figures and they're not going to be cheaper anywhere else.

Suck we have to wait 5 more months before the first figure ships though. The previews at SDCC for Rorschach and Dr Manhattan looked pretty sweet.

As long as Galactus isn't a %^&* cloud again, it has to be a step up.

Oh snap, and with the original gun too!!

I'd love to hear more details about how you came by this...certainly the Grail of any collection.

I hope to be like you too one day.  ;D

Congrats, bro...that's terrific. I did not think these were still shipping, so hope remains, I guess.

Were they located on the regular action figure aisle or on a dedicated endcap? Was this a Target that had completed their reset?

And what state exactly?

There are no Targets around here where I am on vacation sadly, but maybe I will get lucky on the way home.

Two of the local Targets just completed resets and designated space for the 3-packs. The first one only had the Gonk Droid set, no Snags, but the second one had pegs filled 6-8 packs deep....with last years's editions. Yep, loads of Dengar sets and a couple Bossk/IG-88 sprinkled in. Yecchhh.

Arrived in DE for vacation this evening and happened to see all the light-up MH figures at the Giant grocery store of all places, even Vader. Weird.

Why aren't the new SW individual figure listings under "New to Hasbro Toy Shop"? I mean, it's not surprising or anything, just seems like it would have been helpful to give them a little profile.
