The first movie I actually remember going to was E.T.

There were probably others before it, but nothing affected me the way this movie did.  I still remember crying all the way from the theatre to the car, and then all the way home because E.T. went home (gee, I hope this isn't a spoiler  ;))

OCB, I wouldn't recommend The Incredibles for a toddler - my 3 year old girl was pretty spooked by the movie.  Just a little too much action for her (of course, I got a big kick out of it).

My first trade with Dale, and hopefully not the last!  This guy makes you feel comfortable trading.  Great communication, fast and secure shipping.    8)

Many thanks!

Thanks guys, I love delving back into the threads to remember what the hot items of the day were.  Obviously Kubricks are grabbing a lot of people's attention today!  I've played with the idea of getting into these, I've never even seen one with my own eyes.   Hmmm...

My monopoly on the name has ended.

Nah, judging by your # of posts, I've got a ways to go  :)

Well, that's a relief!  Obviously I'm not a regular there, but losing any big name Star Wars sites is a bad thing for everybody.

RIP CSW.com
RIP ArtoosNews.com

What else am I missing?

I guess I haven't been there for a month or so, but does anybody know what happened to thejawa.com?

I know they reconfigured a while ago, but neither the old link or the new link work.

Have we lost another longstanding Star Wars website?

Catherine Bell will always be one of my favourites - must be that whole "women in uniform" thing.

I gotta agree pretty much with what you've said.  Buying one extra vs buying multiples seems to be a good way to distinguish between helping and scalping.  I've never done any trading in the past until this month when I found 2 variant NHL Legends.  I figured there would be people out there (ie. globally) that would be interested in this, even if I wasn't.  Being from a small town, I figured more than anything they would just sit there, and sit there.  So I picked them up and believe I traded fairly to make us happy on both ends of the trade.  Did I hurt anybody by doing this?  Not in my mind.

Now if I had come across a case of, say, all variants and bought them, well that would just seem wrong.  Granted, the line between these two areas can be a little fuzzy - is buying one extra okay?  2 extra?  3 extra?  I'm not sure.

Oh, good stuff!  I came across that Rage Mix before and loved it.  But that Leviathan Mix may even be cooler - the techno edge is slick.

Newbies / Hello, eh!
« on: November 8, 2004, 03:07 PM »
Good day, [edit: ladies and] gentlemen!  My name's Jesse (you probably figured that out), and I'm a proud Canadian collector.  But don't hold that against me!   ;)

I must admit I've been lurking around here for a few months, and really enjoy the laid back atmosphere.  You regulars seem to have a pretty tight knit group, so I'm barging in.   ;D

I'm basically a modern collector of the 3 3/4" line, from POTF2 to OTC.  For the most part, my figures stay carded, but the occasional figure leaps out of the package.  I also love the Unleashed line, which obviously must be opened.  I'm also getting quickly interested in GG mini-busts and bust-ups (which Nataku, er Jeff, kindly helped me into by selling me a couple).

I live in a town of 5000, so unfortunately I don't often have a whole lot of sightings to report.  So that leaves the internet to satisfy my needs.

Anyway, I look forward to contributing what I can!

And remember: Here at JediDefender, we love you. Unless you're an *******.

I just love that quote.   :D

Are you shi**ing me?  We stayed until about half way through the credits, that's how long it took to get my little girl dressed up to leave.   I wonder if they want to see it again tonite?   :-\

You know, I often stay to watch all of the credits, just 'cause you never know what you'll see.  The one freakin' time we rush out the door...  Arrrgh!!!

It was a great movie!  At least for us adults - my 3 year got a little spooked by the action.

Alas, no trailer here.   :'(  After enjoying it so much on my little computer screen, I knew it would be wild on the big screen.  Fudge.

Not to change the subject of series 3, but today is my girlfriend's and mine 1 year anniversary and one of the presents she got me a a carded Luke Kubrick.  ;D One more down, 2 to go.

Now that's love, she's definitely a keeper!

You've got to wonder where these came from. How in the world did SWS.com just happen to find a few cases of these all of a sudden? And how many did they find?

I wonder if there was an agreement between Gentle Giant and the Mastercard people - perhaps it just expired and so the remaining stock went to SWS.com?  Just a guess.  As for how many they found, well I'd love to know that too.

$227 US!  That's $270 CDN!  Man, I knew that $50 was a good deal, but yikes!

[Does a happy dance]   ;D

They say they ship Nov 22.

Thanks for pointing that out - in all the excitement I totally missed that fact.  It's gonna be tough to wait, but I can be patient (if I have to be).

Pretty surprising to see them pop up like this.  Probably gonna piss a whole lot of collectors off who have those already, and make a whole other lotta collectors who don't have them happy as **** (like Dave).

I'm one of the happy ones - I never dreamed I'd actually get these.  Like Brent says, that's assuming SWS.com actually delivers.  This is my 1st order with them, and I've heard so many horror stories that I don't actually believe, yet, that they're mine.  Crossing fingers!!

P.S. I won't tell your wife if you don't tell mine ;)

Deal!
