LEGO / Star Wars Celebration 2015 LEGO Exclusive
« on: April 9, 2015, 01:24 AM »
Is anyone going to Star Wars Celebration 2015 who wouldn't mind trying to pick up for me the exclusive Micro Lars Homestead set?

Picked up a parts set for the SDCC Rocket Raccoon Warbird off Amazon. Nice little build - not sure if I'm going to pursue getting the "official" SDCC set or not. The parts set is all Lego pieces, so the only thing I don't have for the set is the official instruction book from Lego and the box. Not sure if those two things are worth $100+

To extend my Marvel Collection, I also started looking into the knock-off stuff out of China. While they do make sets and minifigures that are exact copies of stuff Lego makes, they also make stuff that Lego doesn't make (or at least hasn't made yet).

So far, I've gotten a set of 9 Iron Man minifigures and four "big" minifigures from a company called "Decool" - the big minifigures are great - Rhino, Venom, Juggernaut and Hulk Buster Iron Man. In the Iron Man 9 figure set, there were some pretty cool armor variations, including a really neat Mark I set of the armor.

Here's what the Hulkbuster Looks like:

and here's the Venom big minifig:

and here's a pic of the set of 9 Iron Man figures:

And then from another company called Shang Yuan (their stuff has an "SY" logo on it), I picked up this set of 8 Captain America minifigures:

Lastly, also from SY, I picked up these two Iron Man sets:

Prices are pretty cheap and if you're willing to wait 2 weeks for the stuff to come from China, you can find an eBay seller who will ship for free, which is pretty crazy when you think about it...

The "SY" company also has a pretty cool wave of 8 Spiderman figures that I'm thinking about getting, and their Groot mini-figure is pretty cool too since it's mini-figure sized (not outrageously large like the Lego version). On the Decool side they have a nice set of Fantasic Four minifigures AND Future Foundation variants that I'm keen to pick up, plus their Thing big minifig is pretty spot-on for matching the version of Thing shown in the Lego Marvel Super Heroes video game.

So while I don't necessarily "condone" supporting bootlegs, if Lego were to come out with any of these minifigures or sets, I would gladly throw aside these in favor of having the real-deal.

Most of the recent Marvel movies have offered up decent versions of the characters in Avengers - Age of Ultron in their respective figure lines.  There are versions of Black Widow, Nick Fury, Black Widow, Thor and War Machine (provided he plays a role in the film) that would all be reasonable figures to reissue if Hasbro had moved forward with a fully articulated 3.75" figure line.  And this new version of Iron Man is a good representation of the new Mark 43 armor.

So who does that leave?  Hawkeye (new look), Captain America (new uniform), Hulk (not done well previously), the twins, Ultron and the Vision.  All told, it wouldn't have been that crazy of a line to build had Hasbro pursued it.

I agree - would have been awesome to see them make a MCU Ultron in the Infinite line style...

Dang it - I saw those two 2-packs last night but hesitated since the only "new" figure in the bunch was Iron Man. Hopefully they still have them in stock when I go back later today, I'll gladly pick them both up if I can get them via the BOGO...

Picked up the Imperial Troop Transport from TRU yesterday on the way home from work.

They also got in the Hera Mission Series wave and had a sale going on where you'd get 2 Mission Series packs for $15.

I grabbed another Stormtrooper/TIE Pilot pack and I also picked up a replacement Cadet Ezra/Kanan 2-pack to replace the defective one I got in my order from EE.

Too bad I missed the other two transports that must have been on the shelf - depending on when I get out of work today, I might try hitting another TRU to see if they have any in stock...

One of my Cadet Ezra/Kanan 2-packs had a Kanan with two right hands  >:(

Are there any noteable differences between this figure and the single-carded version of Kanan?

Received my order of the Saga Legends "Endor Wave" case and the Hera wave of Mission Series figures. So with the exception of getting a MIB set of the Digital Collection figures I'm all caught up on the 5POA front.

WOW - this one is going to be painful...

Yakface posted an update...

Update: Our friends at The Astromech Collection pass on info that the R2-D60 will be available in a much wider release and not limited to 6000 pcs.

I know it's for Disneyland, but I'm hoping that it's also available in Disney World - I'm going to be there in June for one of the Star Wars weekends - hopefully they'll have it in both parks. Probably just wishful thinking but I'll hold off getting one on the secondary market until I've been there and had no luck picking up the three I want...

I believe the Ezra variant is actually between the 3-pack version and the Wave 1 figure. There is nothing different about the Wave 3 figure itself except for the date stamp/COO.

Ok - thanks - I saw the pic on Yakface with the three figures, I saw it quick during my lunch hour yesterday and didn't look at it in detail - I see now it's just that the date timestamp is now in black instead of white... oh well...

Pulled the trigger on the SHIELD Helicarrier along with all the stuff I'll need to add power functions to the model this past weekend when the double VIP points started. Should give me a nice discount on the UCS TIE that comes out in a month and a half.

Can't wait to get this behemoth and put it together.

I also picked up off of eBay the following older sets:
Wolverine's Chopper Showdown
Spider-Man's Doc Ock Ambush
Hulk Mini Figure Polybag
Iron Patriot Mini Figure Polybag
Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout

I'm trying to score the SDCC Rocket Raccoon Warbird set, but so far no luck. I might pick up one of those parts sets with instructions and call it a day instead...

I'm trying to get down to just needing the sets that haven't been released yet AND the SDCC minifigures from 2012 (Black Suite Spider-man and Phoenix) and 2013 (Spider-Woman & Andrew Garfield Spider-Man) and the Iron Man/Captain American 2-pack from Toy Fair 2012. I'll probably never get those six mini-figures, but I'm okay with that, I can't justify dropping $200 for a single mini fig.  :(

I'll double check the spare I have from my Wave 3 case - but I may have one available as well. In addition to the Wave 3 Ezra Variant, which apparently has a slight variation on the logo on the back of his vest, I haven't opened one yet to know for sure...

Got my Wave 3 case with Bespin Han, X-Wing Luke & Skiff Guard Lando.

I had always planned on keeping the Stormtroopers - but I think I'm going to keep at least one each of the Ezra and Inquisitor figures for the packaging variants. I wouldn't have actively sought this out, but since I bought the case, and I have them on-hand, it makes it "easy" to keep 'em.

Nice grabs Pete!  If you're looking to sell off any of those Jedi Temple Guards, please hit me up.

Unfortunately, those are all for my "squad" of Jedi Temple Guards. I used to build squads of as many as 8 figures, but over the past few years, I've dwindled it down to 4 - mostly cause you never know when they might re-release/update the character.

I will keep an eye out for more in my travels and if I come across any, I'll pick 'em up and let you know.

Picked up three of the movie sets today - Hulk Buster Smash, Avengers Hydra Showdown and Hydra Fortress Smash.

The Toys R Us where I found them had all of the other sets as well, but I want to hold back on some sets until June pending the Winter Soldier polybag promo that is rumored to be coming...
