The Vintage Collection / Re: Hasbro Q&A Sessions

Yeah, I was reading this earlier and found the question and answer both curious.

I simply cannot believe they would simply destroy those figures.

Sounds good to me too. I am starved for new CW merch. If a re-focus allows them to make some $$$ that can be re-invested in other lines, so much the better.

Thanks guys, duly noted.

I'm sure I'll be starting a thread like this in a few years for the CW line...I am in the infinitesimal minority who only collects that stuff and not the Legacy. (no, I'm not 12 either)

But yeah, it does seem like a strategic shift in their marketing plan. I'm sure it will likewise re-focus once the love action show hits. They have to keep the entertainment product fresh, and we all know Eps 7-9 ain't getting made.

Yes, it's much better to be persistent & waste time & gas by going on daily toy hunts at multiple stores.  It's for the "thrill" of finding something new.  Makes so much sense...

Well, it makes a lot more sense than assigning the same DPCI # to multiple items so that customers can't call up on the phone and confirm what specific items are actually in stock.

The absurdity of the retail inventory system, coupled with the gross incompetence and unwillingness to help exhibited by most retail employees, essentially demands in person stock checks at multiple outlets, at least if you want to be assured of scoring whatever limited quantity of new product they decide to throw out to the shelf.

I think the sarcasm is misplaced. Why does it matter how other people see fit to spend their time and money in pursuit of their hobby anyway?

Echo Base Forums has updated their pretty complete "who's left" list for the Season Two premiere. Check it out here!

Awesome, thanks for that.

After last night, I am down with a Cato fig. Not so much Todo.

Is that last one a spoiler?  ;)

And good luck finding $30 of new merchandise to purchase at your local TRU...I am willing to bet the house they hold back releasing the Crumb Bomber until this promotion is over. (Even though the release date is 10/1)

Sure enough, I was right... >:(

I picked up the whole new CW Wave at Wally earlier today on my lunch hour. Luminara and Argyus look really great. These were worth the wait.

Now bring on Wave 10!

Once you're done the variants you logically move on to carded figures, right?

DROIDS & EWOKS!  ;D

What's the Toltoy version? (pardon my ignorance)

Thanks for the Han pics. That second one just looks like the legs didn't get painted. Maybe I should add it to the List though...hmm.

11 hours and counting!

VERY psyched for the premier tonight, but I have a feeling I am going to get screwed and miss it. My mother-in-law is due in town tonight on the train and guess who has to go pick her up. It's supposed to be here at 7:30pm - cutting it too close.

I wish they would make these available On-Demand. The re-airings are in even worse time slots.

I hear ya. It's a slippery slope. "Variant" is a VERY subjective term. I've got the vinyl cape jawa, orange hair Luke, etc on my list too, but those may never happen. I wish there was an official catalog of documented variants somewhere. All the information I get is piecemeal.

What is molded Hoth Han? I'm not sure I have heard of this one...

Do you plan an trying to nab all the variants too? I was starting down that road but am starting to reconsider...there are nearly as many variants as regular figures. (maybe even more)

I guess I'd just rather have 1 new figure in a BP than none at all. I'm actually starved for MORE product to buy.

Heck, even a repaint or new weapon would be worth it.
