Yeah, those are a dime a dozen here now too...  It's a pretty weak little set too.  I worried that it would be the last item to really gauge interest in playsets, and it's not gonna leave a very favorable impression.  Whatcha gonna do though, ya know?

Like other GOOD ideas executed poorly, this one'll just be labeled as "Well, yeah, those don't sell well, so we're not doing any more of them".

I've seen a couple little bastards over the years too...

Actually though I'm back to seeing less kids in the aisles...  Still though I see the odd kid here and there, or mom looking for kid...  I tend to only interact when I see they can't find something...  I did send one lady to the WM down the street not too long ago because what she said her son was looking for wasn't at Target but I'd just been to WM and they had it...

The funny thing I heard from her though was, "Wow, this green guy must be popular, there's a lot of him".  About the Neimodian Gunner...  Eh, it gave me a chuckle anyway.

My gf's kids have bought some stuff, but not much...  They're into the Lego's though, and we've watched all 6 films together at home too...  They still laugh at me when I've got them with me on a toy run and I can't find anything but they always find Lego's to buy...  Damn kids.   ;)

Do they do basic commercials much Rob?  Funny about it being for the sabers or helmet...  That kinda stuff is interesting.

Once again it makes it funny that those are obviously more geared to kids, but if they don't do basic fig commercials then how much water does their "This is a kid's toy line!" bs actually hold ya know?  :)  Perfect question for Matt to shove up their ass the next time he gets a chance.

Yeah, I was talking about Build-A-Rama...  Good stuff.

BTW if you guys want SW diorama stuff they have cargo containers and a "generator" piece for "Sci-Fi".  Generic looking...  Neat though.  They don't tap the sci-fi market enough if you ask me...  They don't "go for it" by getting active in customizing communities or talking to websites like here or FFURG.  BAR needs to consider that though because they've got a market for it.

I hold hope for a good modular playset system from Hasbro, but I get doubtful about it every year...  Or I just see Hasbro botching it somehow like they have with other great ideas...  I mean, they can evolutions after 3 sets, but Battlepacks will go for quite a while it seems (and with horrid figure choices at times).  No reason to expect good things even if they DID do a modular playset assortment.

$20 a piece though and I know they could do a simple playset system...  Pack in those incentive figures like VOTC Stormtroopers, or Clonetroopers, or an Imperial Officer sculpt with a new head (Ozzel figure with a generic headsculpt) and it could be pretty sweet.

I'm watching this, simply in awe of what I'm witnessing, and as dumb as this is I can't take my eyes off it.

I'm thinking not from what I've read but that's all jumbled together in my mind right now...

If I'm correct though, I think there's certain resources are good for different things on different planets...  It's not so much a game about resource gathering as much as it is about conquest though...  I think.  There's a lot of stuff about this in gaming rags over the last few months since it has been released.  I've read a lot of it and still can't figure out how they're going to make the final game play out.

It does look good...  I thought it looked like space-age Medeival: Total War! or something. :)  That's pretty great if it's the case.

Welcome aboard here at the site...

You're the only person I've seen who actually had a buff POTF2 figure collecting fetish. :)  That's a new one...  I don't think you're gonna have a hard time collecting those though.

Enjoy the site...  I'm not sure what you meant by your last lines there, but even though we're a relaxed site in regards to certain things we're also much stricter than other sites in many ways so I hope you're here with good intentions.

Welcome to the site however it is you stumbled upon us...  Good to see a new face.  Sounds like an ambitious endeavour for the EU chronicle...  Lotta material to cover for sure.

Enjoy, and if there's any questions or anything just ask one of the staff.

The Original Trilogy / Re: Wimpy/winey Luke....a SITH?
« on: July 29, 2005, 05:07 AM »
Luke was definitely arrogant in ESB...  He was at his height then.  foolhardy, rushing in to fight Vader, and not respecting Vader during the battle...  He paid for that too.

I like Luke's persona come ROTJ...  He is calm, indeed.  Even Vader's confrontation with him on Endor is a weird moment...  It's the first moment you see any level of humanity in Vader throughout the entire Saga really.  It's one of my favorite little parts of the classic trilogy though, no doubt.

Yeah I caught that Matt...  I love the Rancor eating someone in the middle of the battle.  Something humorous about that to me.

Sounded like groups of infantry actually kinda use a rebel yell or battle scream going into combat.  I hope that's the case, but subtle, as it's a nice touch.

Saw lots of other vehicles...  A mobile artillery rebel tank of some sort among others...  Some of the designs are a little cartoony looking, but the new Rebel tank that's been in every screenshot with Rebels in it so far has grown on me (it's noticeably different I think than early shots).  The trailer played all grainy on my PC...  I guess upgrade time's around the corner.   ::)

And "Mike At Rebelscum" is?

Nothing on their front page about it either...  Not to say that POTF cards (a POTF wave perhaps) isn't in the works...  It's been a rumor for a while so I wouldn't doubt it...  But nobody's really stretching their neck on POTF styled cards as a "sure thing" right now.

If they are, so be it...

I'm glad to see Han in Carbonite's making it into the basic line, Just pondering how articulated the figure will wind up being.  interchangeable heads a possibility with that figure too?  It's one of my favorite Han moments though so the figure should rock.

I wonder how they'd have done him had he made his way into VOTC?  Like besides articulation, how he'd be "special" compared to his basic figure release that he seems to be getting.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Too Much Stuff?
« on: July 28, 2005, 02:24 PM »
I cut vehicles and Deluxe down to me buying only what I enjoy...

Where I've accumulated "too much stuff" the most though is customizing fodder...  Bins, upon bins, upon bins...  Plastic bits and pieces...  sprues/trees that held model parts on them...  keys from dead keyboards...  bits and pieces of cheap toys/playsets...  shells/pieces from vintage Star Wars and GIJoes stuff...  a bin of duplicates and triplicates (or more) of various modern SW figures...  It's unreal.

My other area of "too much stuff" is 1:18 planes.  I'm just not as into them as armor and stuff, but the sheer lack of armor and stuff drove me to buy planes that I ultimately don't want...  Well I do want them, but I have absolutely nowhere to store/disaply them.  THey're awkward, BIG, and just cumbersome items.  If I thought I'd get my $ back (or better) I'd sell them I think...  I know like my P-38 isn't terribly valuable though, nor the Winter Stuka...  Impulse buys biting me in the ass I guess.

OK, so Shaak Ti's "deal" is that he/she was a gay guy posing as a highschool girl on a Star Wars forum?

I smell Jerry Springer's staff cooking up new show ideas...

At least you've seen the vehicles...  I'd love to walk into WM see the trucks and stuff, and put a nice lay-away down...

Figures though, they're killing me.  That's WHAT I collect, and I can't find squat...  I mean, I like tanks and stuff but I can't always justify it.  The figures though I'd be building some nice armies of guys.
