I got an email notice from Target overnight that I had to approve a delay for my preorder of the exclusive Galen Erso and Blue Leader figures, otherwise they’d cancel my preorder. I went ahead and approved. The new ETA is September 16 according to the Target App.

I've been under the assumption that there are two factors currently hurting the hobby:

1. The cost of licensing that Hasbro has to pay Disney just for Star Wars alone
2. The commercial failure of the Sequel Trilogy and its merchandise

We know that Disney increased licensing costs back in 2012 or 2013, and I want to say Hasbro recently signed an extension? Then you have to factor in the rising costs of production, materials, shipping, etc. All of that adds up to a pretty penny, and since Hasbro, LEGO, and other merchandisers have taken a bath on Sequel Trilogy items, I can totally see Hasbro playing it easy and only producing a specific number of figures to guarantee that they sell (and for a profit), and don't hang around clearance aisles/stores for years like Jyn, Cassian, or anything from Last Jedi.

The issue is that the Sequels brought in a ton of new fans/collectors, many of which haven't been around for as long as we have been. So they never had a shot at the original figures, and they're happy to not have to pay $60+ on eBay for any of them.

Love that Fordo figure, and the blue repaint looks amazing. It's a shame they're all Walmart exclusives.

I got my Maul and Jaxxon from Hasbro Pulse this afternoon as well, and same with Dave, both delivered in a single box with great packing. I ALMOST wish I had gotten a second set of these to keep carded. Almost...

There's no way they DON'T do repacks/repaints. Grievous is totally going to be a repack of the D1 figure, just with a white paintjob and white cape (and probably a $40 MSRP)

Stopped by a local store that sells figures for about $5 over MSRP over the weekend to see if they had any of the red/black numbered figures I'm still missing. They didn't have much I can't find for cheaper online, but I did snag Wedge since I never got around to picking him up.

I was able to grab one!

Of course this would come out mere days before I have to go to LA for work. I actually will have a day to visit Disneyland and Galaxy's Edge, and was planning on grabbing whichever of those figure sets that had Hondo in it. So I guess this is money saved.

This is awesome, and oddly, I love the packaging, even though I hate the other POTF2 reissues. Won't be too upset if I don't get this, it's only about $40 for the Kenner Kenobi with the same realscan face deco, and Jayson said Ponda and Evazan are coming later.

Hasbro Pulse sent me an email saying they won’t be able to ship my order of these until August 26. That’s a little upsetting considering that other sites got their orders weeks ago. Maybe I should cancel and order from EE or BBTS or something.
