Revenge of the Sith / Re: Episode 3 Potential Figure List (SPOILERS)
« on: November 20, 2004, 09:47 PM »
Antilles in ANH wasn't particularly old though.  I find it odd they'd put him in E3, but that's me.  I mean the droids could be passed around some before reaching him.

I always figured Organa would've gotten them, and just made sure they were attached to something under his control, and eventually Leia's.  IE: The Tantive IV.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Saga Purchases
« on: November 20, 2004, 05:53 PM »
Minor, but since I discovered the Antilles arm swap and how it makes him a completely better figure, I am now on an Ozzel/Antilles kick and trying to scarf up what's left.

Ozzel's just as tough to find here now, so I'm having a rough go, but my lady picked up two Antilles at her local WM tonight.  Limb swap on the way, and then head swaps down the road for them.

Yay!

It took one of the only major CONS I had on Antilles and really (No pun) turned it around.

Sooo, by turning the arms around, I had very little real gripe with the figure at all.  Still not articulated WELL, but better than before.

Time to buy up Antilles figures in my area because I'm whipping up an officer army.

Yeah, the people everyone generally DOES dislike have their own threads.  Like GNT, the "kids" club, etc.

Scum's been as interesting as ever.  Seriously.

That's such a sad, sad statement of affairs there.  The place is a train wreck.  It was before, but now it's just 10 x worse.

It's funny to watch from afar though.  Incase I need to find something new to be thankful for, it is having a place separate of that clusterf of stupidity.

I honestly don't mind DBB and LJ as people, but neither one is fit to mod there.  I don't know that anyone can manage that 3-ring fiasco, plus the sideshow too.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Christmas Songs that Suck
« on: November 20, 2004, 02:45 AM »
Welp,

I've already heard (twice) that god damned "Whoopty doo, and dickory dock" song at stores.  It's not even black Friday and that crap is already playing repeatedly.

Oh, and I despise that little bastard on the Old Navy commercial that says "They sure are festive".

I'd kick that child in the teeth I think.   >:(

Very funny.  :)  I liked Chewie taking a nutty in the break room.

SC commercials are definitely creative.  Can't say I watch the show routinely since I get most of my sports from the paper, but the commercials are always a riot.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Anyone Gonna See Sponge Bob?
« on: November 20, 2004, 02:26 AM »
OK, just got back from my girlfriend's an hour ago.  It was pretty fun/funny.  Typical SpongeBob humor, and not as much adult humor as there was kid humor, but still enjoyable.

Patrick steals the show, of course.  I don't know many who don't favor him over all others.  He's very "leggy" at parts, and that got tremendous laughter.

David Hasselhoff's role is more than I imagined actually.  He's funny too, and seemed to enjoy the whole thing.  I found that in and of itself funny.

I like Plankton but he was underused IMO.

The various "citizens" also are always a highlight.  Usually great lines.

No real use of Sandy Cheeks, which was a negative in my book.  A good 3rd dimension to the Bob/Patrick duo.  THey used Squidward more than Sandy.  Bummer.

Not much music, but had they incorporated some more things like at the end, they could've definitely had the "older" crowd laughing more.

Hmmm...

I liked it.  I don't know that I'd recommend any of you rush out to see it or NOT wait for a DVD of it.  I did like it though.

Oh, and the E3 teaser trailer was on before.  The LFL logo hit and I went ape **** (silently, but still in a giddy kid-like fashion), and my girlfriend just laughed.  She asked "Is this the trailer you keep playing at home when we're on the phone", and I just nodded.  She watched it then with interest.  She seemed to like it.   Yay!

Seeing the trailer on a big screen has me so pumped up for Star Wars.  I seriously am needing a bigscreen SW fix right now, but my TV's too small to get that feeling.   :-\

Customizing Tips and Tricks / Re: Apoxie
« on: November 20, 2004, 01:52 AM »
Never heard of Apoxie myself, but I've found anything epoxy like tends to set fast, so working time's a possible problem.

As far as Sculpey, depending on what you want to do with a custom (IE: Don't care how fragile it is) or what type you may be using, these are the factors that can vary results.  The super sculpey and primo are supposedly good.  I can't even find them.

Sculpey III though, which is all I can ever find, is more like a moderate modeling clay and a good "kids" clay.  I have very bad luck with it for anything really, but I can't find good Sculpey anywhere.  Just III.

MMMMMMMmmmmmmm Army builders.

Wookies and Nemodians and Clones.  OH MY!  :)

That's good news to this army builder's ears, but will the list hold up?  Time will tell, but I'm fairly pleased with everything BUT Orn Free Ta.  Not that I dislike his Saga figure, and I have no doubt he'll be unique in E3, but I don't care for seeing hundreds of him clogging pegs...  Again.

Captain Antilles?  Interesting...  Didn't know he'd be in E3, which makes his Saga figure even more "too young" looking.  Unless that's Captain Antilles Jr.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Any MSTies here?
« on: November 19, 2004, 01:49 AM »
I used to love MST, but I haven't watched it in ages.

Before I was 21 and found the joy of going out and drinking, my 2 best friends and I would pretty routinely rent bad films at the 24 hour video place, and we'd basically make fun of them ourselves.  Easily a great night with friends...  One buddy's sister would invite her friends over, and his girlfriend would bring friends...  Made our own MST events kinda.

Good times.

Do they make new MST's now, or just putting the old ones on DVD?  I see commercials for them, but don't see the show itself anywhere on TV.

In my town CG's are not used at lights.  That's what the walk button's for.  :)

Our crossing guard is this short, stout girl that was in a class ahead of me....  Though she was in special programs so I dunno what grade she was in ultimately, but she was right around my grade because she was in Home-Ec classes when i had to take them.

Anyway, she guards the kids at a pretty hairy intersection as there's actually 5 roads converging.  Very strange intersection, but that's Western PA traffic patterns for you.  Nothing's laid out in a fashion that is convenient.

The girl does a good job, but the woman before her was a trip.

She was "large", we shall say, and wore stretch pants EVERY day.  She had what seemed like 3 pair.  One black, one white stained, and one "flesh" colored.

Now, as you can fathom, the flesh colored were the worst of the bunch, and gave the illusion that she had absolutely NO pants on, and was an enigma of nature in not having a butt, nor any orafice(s) anywhere.  Creepy?  Indeed.  The fact she looked like curdled milk down there didn't help.

And to top it off, cars going full steam would have to SCREECH to a halt as she would step right out in front of them to stop them.  This cross isn't near the school.  it's a couple blocks away on the main drag in town, but enough kids cross here that the guard's been deemed necessary.

Like I said, new girl is good at the job, old guard was a wreck herself, much less capable of preventing one.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: VOTC C-3PO on Ebay??
« on: November 19, 2004, 01:38 AM »
If I hadn't gotten it for cost from Blue Harvester, I would NOT have bought one.  I like having it for completeness sake, but this and R2 are the worst of the lot IMO.  Even old Ben had more interest out of me than those two.

3PO though is a bad figure.  Just bad.

In honor of his possible feature film debut (is he in anything beyond TV and "theatre" ever?), and brought up by DeanPaul...
